I apologize, I decided to research her and spent everyday all week now listening to her videos, music, interviews, then and now. Indeed, she is the Queen. That kind of talent can only come from being chosen by God, she was already that talent at very young age, I've thoroughly enjoyed her wit, music, humor, and frankness. No one gifted, despite all the temptations, continued to work to better her music, as if there is another level to it, and gifted all of us her music. So sad to get to know her only after she has left.

Franklin was the mother of four sons. She first became pregnant at the age of 12 and gave birth to her first child, named Clarence after her father,[73] on January 28, 1955. According to the news site Inquisitr, "The father of the child was Donald Burk, a boy she knew from school."[74] On January 22, 1957, then aged 14, Franklin had a second child, named Edward after his father Edward Jordan.[20] Franklin did not like to discuss her early pregnancies with interviewers.[75]

God gave Aretha the gift of song to rise above all she endured as a child. She was and will always be a gifted talent. It is not for us to judge her....You can hear real emotion in her songs and she is one of a few that can make you feel what she is singing. Now you know where that came from. I think it's tragic how some like to reveal skeletons in closets after someone passes.....she is not here to defend herself not that she needs to. Everyone has a past....she lived her personal life privately.....just like one should. Queen Of Soul......rest in peace dear lady. Now you get to sing for the real KING....GOD.

Margaret Barksdale yet that devout lady who crafted her voice in gospel choirs and always praised the Lord to the fullest was to die in excruciating pain that her Heavenly Father stood by and watched. Why as the Almighty did he not stop this wonderful lady from suffering the way she did, when your accredited with creating the Universe that’s small chips. Why would a loving God subject subject his most devout followers to this? You have no pertinent answers because there are none. Continue with your worship of an entity that may or may not exist but ask yourselves why the cruelty.

Gold Blue The time will come when there is no Christianity or prayer on this earth: You will get your wish. But it will come with a price. 1/3 of the Bible is Prophecy and it's being fulfilled. The Rapture is the only prophecy that hasn't been fulfilled yet. After that. There will be no Christians or prayer on the earth, what you don't know is: it's the prayer that is on this earth that is keeping soooo much from happening. Sure we are living in a crazy messed up world as it is, but can you imagine what if it was like the movie "purge". When the prayer is gone and the Christians are gone it can be just like that. (Just to give an example) of a world without prayer. The world doesn't have to be coming to an end for one to loose out on ones potential. You can have an automobile accident or drown or be in the right place at the wrong time and be killed and that can hinder a potential. Having Christ in your life and heart gives you an assurance that if one of those incidents occurred, you have eternal life thru our lord and savior Jesus Christ. The way this world is, we needed a Savior. And Jesus came to give life and more abundantly (John 10:10) Kjv the theif comes only to steal and kill and Destroy, But Jesus comes to give life and abundantly. God wants you to reach your every potential and have eternal life, because he loves you.

wow what this women had endured and what she had to go thru in life really gives me strength... at times i feel its hard. but she had plenty more to deal with in a time in the 60's of a race war, having a child at 12 and then 14... in total 4 children, the loss of her father and sister. and having to keep a good steady imagine of her career... props to you Aretha! rest in heaven love

Hey, She was an Overcomer thru all her "Personal Problems/Troubles," Thank God!! Yes, at times even with a wonderful voice-ofcourse she had to fight thru the fast"Showbizness" that was sooo competitive back then, but she still was Clearly A Success!! My Uncle said that in the early 70's after Ms. Franklin's 1972 Gospel Album w/James Cleveland on it- she had slowed down a few years with making new hit songs, but that's when Natalie Cole was able to "Spark Up" her talent and be on 'The Charts" and win Grammy Awards too!! However, Aretha was still TIMELESS & IMMEASURABLE!!! May She R. I. P!!

This wasn't a tragic life. It was just life and she survived all the things that she went through. She loved her fans and her friends. Health issue come and go for many of these stars. But keep things private in this day and age has become that much harder! Sleep well Mrs. Franklin! you will forever live-on in our hearts and souls with the records of music and vocal tones (second to none) That you have left us with, captured in time forever!
