What is beautiful is Holy Matrimony, I myself am not married , however as a bachelor that I am , I am praying for the Priesthood 😉 so maybe someday I will be married , :) ❤ And I choose the vocation God is calling me for although I did want to get married to a beautiful Catholic devout lady however I know God desires me to go to seminary and become a Priest so I've said yes to Jesus ! I had to do it because God told me so , this happened to me about 30 years ago when I was in my last breath, close to death. God had mercy on me and he gave me the grace to get married by The Holy chosen CATHOLIC Church ❤ Marriage is a Grace of God that covers the whole family

I was raised catholic met my then husband who was not baptized. I didn't know anything and we didn't try to hide it. We just left it up to the priest to tell us or if it was an issue he would say something? Well no one asked and we went though the pre marriage counseling and all the meetings with the priest. Had three kids and I was reading the catechism and read exactly what father just said in the video! I told my husband "You have to get baptized!!" He did and became a catholic but we got divorced after 15 years. I think maybe we would have had a better marriage if this was taken care before. Makes me sad.

There’s a lot of misconceptions and lack of understanding regarding Catholic approved annulments.. Glad he clears it up. When I met my husband 29 years ago I was a Cradle Catholic. He was nothing- not even baptized. He had also been married and divorced. He received the Pauline Privilege. That gave us permission to have a Catholic wedding. And he also became Catholic

My husband and I were poorly catechized. They didn't tell us we needed to be married in the church. We had been married in protestant place of worship. I guess they thought that valid. It was not until we found out about four or five years later, when we switched parishes. Please pass this on to converts. Have your marriage blessed in the church.

Praise God the Catholic Church said that my marriage was invalid. I was young and naive, there were a lot of circumstances around my divorce. Several years later when I went through RCIA it was a concern, but the priest told me that my case was the fastest decision he has ever seen come back and they determined it was invalid. I had been baptized a Catholic but never brought up Catholic and had never received any other sacraments. We were not married in a Catholic Church and not in Canonical form. I praise God that I am free to receive Communion and to get married properly. My problem at my age is finding a man who can also be married in the Catholic Church. Talk about a first date ice breaker. Literally...why start a relationship if it's a nonstarter. That is very important to me to do things correctly this time.

I think the problem really isn't with same-sex or opposite sex attraction, it's with concupiscence. Regardless of your sexual orientation, it's a sin to look at anyone, man or woman, as a sexual object instead of a human person created in God's image. Everyone needs to learn how to love properly, not just those who experience same-sex attraction.

Is it ok to not have a wedding at all? I'd love to make a formal vow with my future husband in the presence of a priest and perhaps a couple of witnesses, in a church, in front of God. Wedding preparations are super draining, so the lazy bum in me just wants to skip everything except the bare minimum. The bible often mentions banquets as symbols of communion and celebration, but I really don't think I'd have the energy to even plan for a reception.

im having the same arguement with DCSF to have my son baptized! The Church states there is a prescribed form and place and in order for it to be valid must be adhered to. The failure of DCSF in CHICAGO to get out of the way so our Faith can be practiced is the problem with liberal thinking

Yes, although the Catholic party must first obtain a “dispensation” from her bishop. The Church teaches that the marriage of a Catholic to someone who is not a baptized Christian is impeded (blocked) by “disparity of cult”-that is, the difference in their religious backgrounds. (This would include marriage to someone who is an atheist or agnostic.) This impediment can be removed (dispensed with) by the bishop if the following conditions are met: The Catholic party must promise to do all in his or her power to have all children baptized and raised in the Catholic Church. The Catholic party must declare that she or he is prepared to remove all dangers that might cause him or her to fall away from the faith. (For instance, the Catholic person might want to ensure that he or she is not prevented from attending Mass or receiving sacraments.) The non-Catholic person must be informed about the Catholic party's promises and obligation to fulfill them. The couple must be informed of the ends and properties of marriage. (In a nutshell, the purpose of marriage is the good of the spouses and the procreation and education of children, and its essential properties are its unity and indissolubility.) You may request a dispensation through the Catholic minister who will witness your wedding.
