Hearing you talk about age and how it doesn't matter was so amazing to hear. I am turning 28 in 2 weeks and I have this feeling that I've failed. I still live at home because life is expensive and I have been struggling with my mental health since I was 12 and I don't like where I am in my life. I feel kind of stuck. I don't know why i'm admitting this to a bunch of strangers when I don't even talk to my family about it, maybe it's easier. But I feel really lost. What I wanted to say is thank you for speaking about everything honestly. Your videos make me feel less alone and your cute family makes me smile even when I don't feel like it. So thank you for being here. ❤️

I don't have any words of wisdom for you unfortunately but just wanted to reach out and say that I'm just like you - still at home at 29 because of the cost of living and also have struggled with my mental health since childhood, which is worsened by being stuck at home. I feel that same crushing sense of being lost every day but I smiled reading your comment knowing that there is someone else out there like me. Wishing you the best, fingers crossed life will start to look up for us soon.

my sister will be 27 this year and she still lives with us. we all have mental health issues. i wish we could normalize living at home until we're stable. i'm 23 and there's no way i can move out soon, i have borderline personality disorder and it seems as if i'll never be stable enough to live on my own. i'm sending you love and i hope you know that you're not a failure!! growth and change doesn't happen overnight.

Nothing is wrong with living at home. Do your parents have an issue with it? No? Then, that's all that matters. Don't let society let you feel less than. Remember, people flaunt what they have on social media, but sometimes it's just as fake. Some people have their own place, but struggle to pay their bills every month, some people have their own place but have parents still helping them financially. Don't let anyone make you feel less than or inadequate just because your situation is different. What's meant for you is meant for you. Tune everybody out. I'm 32 and have felt stuck too, but you just gotta keep moving and realize that everybody isn't thriving the way it might appear they are. Take it one day at a time. Also, your 30s will be better than your 20s. Don't worry if you're not where you want to be yet.

Also, rent and bills are expensive as heck right now. Many (probably most) people loving alone can barely afford it unless they're making like 2500 a month and that's not even enough to be honest.

I know so many people in their 30s and 40s who are moving in with parents or friends or other family. It’s so hard to afford independent living. There are many cultures where living with family is what you do, and honestly it just makes sense. Do what is best for you and your family. ❤

What you say about life experiences is spot on. When I was in my 20’s, after an extremely traumatic few years, I realised that life is a series of new beginnings. That doesn’t mean you start fully fresh all the time, it just means you can have so many new chances to have a beautiful, fulfilling, great life, & taking them is so important. My motto is ‘the only things you should regret is the risks you didn’t take’. I’m 46 now, & in another new phase of my life & it’s very challenging, but also very great. (End ted talk)

I just turned 53 and started a new career about a year ago, more out of necessity than out of choice. However, I’m enjoying it and doing well there. My life has taken so many twists and turns over the years…it’s important to go with the flow and be able to pivot, no matter your age. I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend - may his memory be a blessing. ♥️🙏🏼

So sorry about the loss of your friend. I appreciated what you said about age and not doing everything in the order society tells us we should. I’m 33 and finally feel stable in my career but I’ve never been in a long term relationship and don’t have any kids. It’s hard to not feel like I’m behind in those areas of life.

You will do it when you should. I’m a month away from 37yo, just married, dated my husband 3yrs and knew him 5yrs before that. I never imagined myself married, with a life partner, much less talking about trying to have a kid. Life happened in its own time and I’m not mad as we both spent our younger years experiencing life and learning.

I was a substitute teacher for 32 years, cleaned houses on my days off, which weren’t many, and finally went part time at a grocery store where I did inventorying, built the holiday displays and a lot more. Every job I did, I enjoyed and learned from. Now I’m home as a homemaker, wife and Nana and love it! I love he chatty videos, the getting ready together and the life updates. I love my life my daughter is going to college this fall. I alway told her take it as it comes! Enjoy your life and each age! Makeup by Mario is one of my favorites but that eyeshadow palette is WAY overpriced! FYI I took Zoloft and it’s a low dose but I do well with it!

I’m 43 and I definitely agree with you on linear lives. And it’s ok to keep an eye on your age but don’t let it stop you or make you think you’ve failed. You really can’t force things to meet your ideas. I always notice how when I just work on myself and let life bring me where I need to be I’m happier. It’s never perfect in my mind. But it’s joyful and I appreciate it and I tend to feel grateful for every moment.

Hey Jess! It’s true that time goes by slower when doing something new! Your mind is actually having to work to process everything new rather than you doing the same stuff over and over again that you’ve already experienced. Our 2020 resolution was to intentionally go to places we’ve never been as a small way to make life go by a little slower. When Covid hit, we switched it to camping to different places/cities/states and now that everything pretty much open we go on new restaurants, new grocery dates, new stores we would never go into. These little “trips” have made the last 3 years feel so lighter and fun, we’ve made sooo many memories and stories!

The perspective you shared about getting older and starting over was so eloquent and I totally agree! We should try to give ourselves more grace about how our journey unfolds! That's the real beauty in life...if you take it day by day and try your best not to compare your journey to anyone else's, it will be exactly what it's supposed to be!

I love Taylor's channel also! She's got such a calming personality. I always turn on her videos when I need to just chill. I am 51 and feel like this isn't where I am supposed to be in life. I think we have to understand life is what you make it and you only get one chance. It took me to 50 to stop living my life to everyone else's standard. This was particularly hard with my parents. I was always trying to gain their approval to my own detriment. They're great parents and I love them, but I don't need their approval to live my life.

We actually found out we lost a friend while we were at Disney in 2019. We had fast passes for the frozen ride and our girls were excited, there's a picture that's taken on the ride and we look zoned out while the girls are enthralled. Its a moment captured in time that I never thought would impact me so much. Losing a friend is hard, theyre the people we choose to have in our lives. I can understand that shift during a moment that should be magical, and I'll pray that your hearts will find peace, for you and for your friend.

I'm 37 as of a few days ago and pregnant with my first.. I've had a LOT of fears and things I feel have been planted in my head about aging and time frames for things in general so at first I was apprehensive. Having been so free my whole life I couldn't picture being a mom. I didn't even think it was a realistic goal until I met my current husband. And he was all about having a baby and I love him and his family so I figured, why not jump off that ledge? I have seen a whole new motherly side of myself after I met my husband and it has convinced me that I will be a good mom and I'm very confident that I can do it now. It's okay to start later. It's okay to do things you never thought you would.

I love your chatty videos like this. I appreciate you sharing your life and normalizing things that people don’t talk about a lot. When you mentioned Tyler having a week of extreme highs and lows I could completely relate. The week of my birthday I got engaged and then within 3 days my brother was in a terrible car crash because he tried to commit suicidal. It was extremely difficult for my family and very out of the blue, and it took me over a year before I felt “normal” again. I felt guilty to be happy and like I didn’t deserve it because it made me think something bad was going to happen again. Anyways, love your videos ❤️

I took prozac it made me feel crappy and unemotional but I tried Lexapro and that one is really good. This isn't for postpartum just regular daily depression and anxiety. Life is your path alone not someone else's and not what someone expects of you every thing you have been giving is ment to be and makes you grow as a person, that's what people need to understand don't get down on yourself I know I did it all the time and let go of the expectations and it freed me mentally to live life as it came to me and grow with every experience that comes my way.

I learned so many amazing skills that I use all the time and the memories I have from a lot of what I did at school bring me a lot of joy. I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your friend that's so sad. I used to think grief as far as losing someone would feel the same no matter who it was it hurts, but the emptiness and sadness is much different, losing anyone is difficult but it is particularly different (It hits different) when you lose a close family member such as parents, sibling, grandparents it seems harder in a sense to cope with your life will never be the same after that.. it's tough, it just sucks period. I only mention this cause you mentioned that you and Tyler have been blessed to not experience that yet which is awesome, but I pray for you and Tyler's peaceful healing during this difficult time. I wanted to say thank you Jessi for working so hard and I loved your video style today. Can you try the elf satin O lipsticks please, they look like something you would like. Currently reading Lazy Genius Way and as far as I am in it I think you’d like it. Several of the “life lessons” I hear/have heard you speak about are referenced and reinforced. 💕

100% agree, try to keep an open mind and positive attitude about change. Military spouse here, we move every 4 years, I am constantly having to start over and life is so different than what I thought it would be as I was growing up or studying in college. It feels rough sometimes because I've always been one of those who has to plan everything to feel in control.😬

Glad to see you testing out this foundation! The shade N2 is the only shade I've ever found that has been a perfect shade match for me.

I have been watching you since before you had kids, and just found out we have the same birthday! Also, it was my 30th, and I experienced a lot of starting over this last year, and I really appreciated the pep talk! Happy late birthday 🎂

I just lost a very close relative. She was my cousin but she was more like my sister. We were so very close. I didn’t trust anyone like I trusted her. I knew that her time was coming. She had a number of autoimmune diseases and had a slow growing cancer. This makes it 3 people we have lost in less than one year. My nephew last February. My brother (father of my late nephew) and now my sister. I’m having my moments but I know that she’s not in pain and not captive in a body that no longer worked for her. I also got to talk to her before she passed away. I had her daughter put the phone to my sister’s ear. I told her that she needed to let go, that I was going to be okay and that her time here on earth was done. She was such a strong force and influence in my life. She knew things about me and I knew things about her that no one else knew. My sister was my one person who could and would do things that no one else would. She told me truths about my family that no one else would talk to me about. My sister was a warrior and I knew that since she let her family take her to the hospital, this was it. The end. I couldn’t say goodbye. I just couldn’t. We would joke with each other that she would pass first because she’s older than me. I have lupus, fibromyalgia, Sjogren’s and IBS, so we commiserated with each other. My precious sister impacted me in ways no one but God can understand. Between all of these losses, I feel God is strengthening me. Doesn’t mean I won’t be sad now and then, but I know that I’m going to be okay because my life was blessed by my cousin/sister who was my strength and my mentor in so many ways She helped me find my own self worth and helped me find my voice. Now, I’m much stronger, much more grounded as a person. But a piece of my heart ♥️ is in heaven. Cherish those people who were so precious. So sorry for your loss of your friend. You two were obviously very blessed…🌈🙏♥️

I really, really needed to be reminded of some of the things you were saying here. Literally, straight up started crying in the middle of a regular day (but in a good way!) sometimes you don’t realize how much those internalized beliefs and self-criticism are wearing on you until someone holds up a mirror!
