I’m here in San Francisco since the 80s this is all done deliberately I never thought I would experience what has gone down in the past four years the demolition of downtown retail

Parking is about $60 a day in NYC! There is $15 toll if you come in from NJ and then another $15 in congestion tolls if you come in below 60th Street which is where all the busy areas are.

An old aquaintence of mine founded North Face in San Francisco many years ago. Remember Espirit? Susan founded that too. They long ago sold North Face to a conglomerate. They also own JanSport. The North Face Outlet in Berkeley on Gillman is the best place to shop for their clothing and gear. Great deals. I've shopped there for decades.

Take a trip down to Valley Fair or Stanford Shopping Center less than 1-hr away and see that they are packed without store closures, but then San Francisco is the opposite, closed and dead! You will then realize that buying habits changing is not the reason SF is closed and dead.

Except for NYC, most down town in the US are Dead Down 😢... So lonely ! On weekdays when workers leave downtown, is dead Town

SF was NY of the west, Downtown Chicago and Philly are still alive but decaying, Downtown Boston and Miami are thriving

@@DiscoveretaPhotoVideo I think Americans don't shop at stores anymore, that's the main problem of most downtowns, still cities like Vegas, San Antonio, San Diego, DC, Seattle, New Orleans and Nashville have thriving downtowns, there has been alot of crime and drug use after covid and that's affecting downtowns for sure.

How ironic that all the techies wear North Face. Its founder, Doug Tompkins, scorned digital technology with all his heart. He accurately assessed that it was accelerating all the world's converging crises of climate catastrophe, species extinction, extraction, inequity and all the others.
