God showed me about the KJV. I had no idea about "KJO" stuff. My brother had just died, but had given me a KJV bible shortly before his death. I picked it up only because I needed the concordance. Then I found myself comparing that bible with the NASB I'd used for 18 years, along with my newer NIV. I was shocked to discover the differences, which only God could've shown me. It was then I began learning about versions, but my trust in God's word has never faltered. I know what he showed me.

I have been willfully reading the King James Bible since I was 12. I find the language, poetry and tone of the King James text to be, by far and wide, superior not only to any modern Bibles, but basically all modern American English. Because of my fascination with the King’s English, when I was in 10th grade and we got into the Tragedy of Julias Caesar and Romeo & Juliet, I was even able to correct my English teacher’s pronunciation of the words and their meanings.

I like to open the Bible and go to the scriptures that we are discussing to be sure that we have them right, and a major reason for this it’s because I believe in God‘s perfect preserved words, and not in a general dynamic equivalence of ideas.

I understand that most of the students do not speak english as their first language. So I told them that I would read the NIV only for the class and in my personal studies I will read KJV. English is not their first language so, I was trying to be understanding when I was chosen to read a Verse out loud. I asked God in prayer to help me understand the KJV , because I had learned about how the different translations remove Verses and Jesus' Words, I no longer wanted to read from any other Bible but the KJV. The KJV is so beautiful! and when I read from it , I feel like I am reading from the heart.

@Ricolaureano
@Ricolaureano 7 жыл бұрын
rlunnerstall. I say partially. If you research where the modern translations come from you'll understand. What's worse is that almost every pastor in America is against the KJV. It's actually really sad and disheartening to hear from your own pastor(s) that the KJV has "mistakes" in it or that the verse in my Bible was put in by some random person who grab a hold of the manuscript (and yes this IS being taught today). For example, "Christian" schools are teaching that in 1 John 5:7 that the three heavenly witnesses the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit is a forgery when the early church fathers quote this exact verse which predate their manuscripts! The sad part of it is that the argument that they make is the same as the Jehovah witness' argument. Check out their founder's quote in his book: “The only text in Scripture which was ever claimed to prove, or affirm, that the Father, Son and Spirit are one, is a portion of 1 John 5:7, 8. This appears only in Manuscripts written since the fifth century, and is acknowledged by all Trinitarians to be a “forgery.” So undisputable is this, that the translators of the “Revised Version” recently published, omit the clause without note or comment, though those Revisors [sic] were themselves believers in Trinity.” Excerpt From: David W. Daniels. “Can You Trust Just One Bible?.” But, I know the truth, I know where my Bible comes and the ones who wrote it. I hold up the KJV/Valera 1602 Purificada high!

One question you need to ask is what did the word "intermeddeleth" mean and do we still use it today? for if we don't use the word anymore, then the meaning of that word might be lost to some (or most) people. Another is what does the hebrew say, for even if you don't respect the Hebrew, it still can explain why other bibles say what they say on account of some (or most) of them are at the very least trying to follow the Hebrew here.

What is perhaps most telling of KJV only people is that instead of encouragement for being in His word daily, I will get hate and vile responses. That sums up the KJV only crowd pretty well. What's sad in all the wrangling over what version of the bible one reads is that far more important issues get lost in all the arguments. Is Jesus going to ask what version of the bible l read? Or is he going to ask if l obeyed and loved him and my brothers and sisters? That command doesn't change from one translation to the next. This "You must read this version!!" reminds me of Paul saying "Love does not insist on its own way" or "Love does not seek its own," depending upon what translation one uses. I have family members in Christ who use KJV, NIV, RSV, NRSV, ESV, NASB, NLT, NKJV, etc.Should l disown them because we use different translations? "I can't fellowship with you. You use the NASB. That's heresy." The devil has a field day dividing believers over such petty things. Straining out a gnat and swallowing a camel. Jesus said we must be born anew (John 3:3 and 7). I'm far more concerned about my spiritual character and that of those whom l interact with than what version of God's word they regularly use. What's more important in God's sight, reading a "right" translation or living a righteous life? It's not about having the "winning, superior" translation. It's about how each person lives in the light of Christ and submission to Jesus as Lord. We have persecuted brothers and sisters in many countries throughout the world where the bible is outlawed. Bibles have to be smuggled to them at great risk. Do you think they care what version of the bible they're receiving? "You brought us the ESV? No thanks." Absolutely not! That would be arrogant and ungrateful. They just hunger for the word of God and THAT'S what God honors.

The first two minutes of this are almost unbearable. The speaker tries to make the case that a critic of KJV is relying on his "own wisdom" over "god's wisdom," but couldn't that same platitude be applied to someone advocating for KJV only? After all, the speaker is advocating for KJV ONLY, which means that you are standing above all the "authorities" found elsewhere. At two minutes and thirty seconds he claims that KJV is "gods words," and thst it is a superior version to all the others, which AGAIN is an individual judgment being stacked against other Bibles that he is judging. Which is apparently wrong to do with KJV but not with any of the others. How does the speaker know that the KJV is "gods words," and thst the other translations are only "mixtures with man's words." He claims KJV has been tested, by whom? Where are the results of these tests documented? How does he measure the "prayerful, faithful people" produced by other Bibles against the KJV. How do we know his affirmation that "faithful and prayerful" people produced by the KJV are moreso than those produced by other Bibles? He tells an anecdote about protecting his finances. Would the NIV have not protected his finances as well? What about ESV? He doesn't compare those proverbs between versions of the Bible, he just lists KJV versions and calls them God's words without telling us how he knows that they are God's words. He claims that KJV "says things right," and that KJV doesn't self contract. Can he demonstrate that claim? Can he demonstrate his claim that other versions cause doubt and the KJV doesn't? He just makes assertions without providing evidence that his claims are true. How does he know what god wants? How does he know that the KJV is what god wants?

@@golightly5121 There are several problems with the KJV. Those manuscripts you mentioned? They were not perfect or inspired. The Maseritic texts for the old testament were VERY late, dating to around the 10th century. The Textus Receptis for the new testament was written by a Dutch scholar who had incomplete greek manuscripts and had to back-translate a bunch from latin ones. Earlier manuscripts, closer to the originals, have been discovered since the KJV was written. The KJV was written before the Dead Sea Scrolls or the Codex Siniacus were discovered. These texts are archeological finds, and modern translations are largely based on them. They were burried in sand and preserved in pots! Henry Laurel I never stated I’m an Onlyest. And even if I was it’s not a cult so don’t make claims you can’t verify. Stating what you did is called lying so obviously you have no problem doing what you accuse others of which also makes you a hypocrite. It’s also a lie that scribes added all of this words. I’ve done my research so if you want to keep making false accusations I’ll let you take that up with the one who will hold you accountable. It’s unbelievable that the liberal Christians of this day have swallowed hook line and sinker the deception of the devil.

KZfaqr hmm that scripture is the word of God but you failed to show me the words I asked, the only thing I read was the truth. God is ONE. And three bear record in heaven .. the Father who is A SPIRIT aka HOLY GHOST ... and God is his word therefore these three are ONE. Not these three are separate but one... that's an oxymoron. In the very first chapter of the New Testament we can clearly read that Mary was found with CHILD OF THE HOLY GHOST. The Holy Ghost is the FATHER. And he had a SON. Created under the law and of a WOMAN. My God is one. Not three. Jesus said I have COME IN MY FATHERS NAME. The name of God is Jesus Christ. Not God the Son, there's no such deity of GOD THE SON. It doesn't exist.

I can show you where God the Father called His Son "God" in the word of God: Hebrews 1:8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. God said that Jesus is God...thus Jesus, His "Son" IS God. I can show you where God the Father told the angels to worship Jesus: Hebrews 1:6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. *Only God is to be worshiped* I can show you where Jesus claimed to be God: John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. John 5:18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God. Philippians 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: I can show you where John called Jesus God: John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God. John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. The trinity is at the baptism of Jesus: Matthew 3:13 Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. Matthew 3:14 But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? Matthew 3:15 And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. Matthew 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: Matthew 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. God the Father is in heaven. God the Holy Spirit is in the air. God the Son is on earth in Jordan after getting baptized. *The Trinity* The word "Godhead" means "trinity". Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. Definition of Godhead: 1 : divine nature or essence 2 capitalized a : God sense 1 b : the nature of God especially as existing in three persons -used with "the" Acts 17:29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the *Godhead* is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man's device. Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and *Godhead;* so that they are without excuse: Colossians 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the *Godhead* bodily. Jesus is "divine". Jesus is *Deity*. Jesus is God. The Saviour is God & Jesus is the ONLY Saviour therefore Jesus IS God: Philippians 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: I Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; I Timothy 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; I Timothy 4:10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. II Timothy 1:10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: Titus 1:3 But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour; Titus 1:4 To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. Titus 2:10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Titus 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Titus 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; *Jesus is the Saviour and Jesus is therefore God* If you knew Jesus you would KNOW that Jesus is God.

Hello everyone and shalom 🕊 I got an email from chick tracts from where I order most of my tracts from and Brother David's book on King James was being promoted. I love love love my King James Bible! I believe that it's the authoratative word of God and is anointed. Mathew 28:19 which reads Go ye therefore, and teach(1)all nations (and) the side note says- (make disciples of). I read in the email sent to me in one of the 51 ways which said this very passage interpretation. Its in my King James bible! Now do I not continue reading the side notes of interpretations or not? I mean should I not trust the (dare I say) scripture references? I fell like saying.. what gives Sam!? 😊 Im a little muddled... I will be praying about this probably right after or soon after posting my comment. God bless all 🙏🏽 Shalom and come Lord Jesus!!!

Is Chick tracts wrong on this matter? I order mostly from chick tracts to hand out as I share the good news, my testimony etc. Any thoughts?

By this logic would reading scriptures in their original languages be best? I speak Latin (thank you college classics requirements) so the Vulgate bible is open to me, but if I recall correctly much of the New Testament was written in Koine Greek, and the Old Testament was of course written in ancient Hebrew. You make a good argument that the KJV is a trustworthy translation -- and if its translation was divinely inspired then there really isn't an issue -- but could a shadow of doubt about *any* translation be removed by reading the bible as it was originally recorded? I've heard that some idioms and literary devices don't translate well from one language to the next.

Bible Translation Stuff "In contrast to the half-dozen mainly medieval manuscripts on which the King James Version was based, we now have over five thousand New Testament manuscripts, including some extremely close to the time the New Testament books were written (by the standard used for ancient texts). These manuscripts make the New Testament by far the best-documented work of the ancient world and also explain why more accurate translations are available today than in times past." Craig Keener

I have explained the KJB in many ways over the past 35 years. Nearly every Christian says the same thing, "I don't see the difference." Why do they say this, well because most simply don't "mediate day and night" on the word. There is only a remnant that stays in the 'word' day and night (many times a day and at night). Those that do, for the most part, will find the differences between the KJB and other bibles.

Right now you are making the KJV the standard... why not make the Greek and Hebrew manuscripts the standard. You realize the TR does not read like any known manuscript. Erasmus (the man who put together the TR which the KJV was translated from) was a Roman Catholic priest who dedicated the TR to Pope Leo X and couldn't even get the copy right the first time. Let alone his statement regarding I John 5:7... he was fighting against the Latin Vulgate which was uses for 1100 years... just because the KJV has been used for 400 years doesn't define superiority. After dealing with Erasmus' known errors you have to deal with Beza's Conjectural Emendations. I use the KJV, but I have to, as a Bible believer, discern the Word for myself through the Spirit. You use so much circular reasoning in this video is frightening. What's even more frightening is that people are following that faulty logic. Please hold the KJV to the same are just. Using preference instead of logic is faulty as well. You are comparing other versions to the KJV, you could use that argument for any version out there. If I used the NASB primarily and compared all versions to that the NASB would be the standard and the KJV would fall short. There are places in the KJV where some words are not translated as accurate as they could be, they don't have bad translations, but it could make things clearer. (Doctrine of hell, etc.) This is just a small fraction of a percentage of the arguments against your faulty logic. I'm not into KZfaq debates so I won't respond but I just encourage every man to grow is wisdom and grace like Christ did. Study things out for yourself. Look into textual studies. Don't just listen to faulty logic. If you prefer the KJV, then great! It's a great translation. But to say it's the only, or best, translation you would have to have yourself compared all other versions in a fair and balanced review.

The KJVO while not a disease is definitely a disorder, no doubt about it. A translation has to be judged by it's accuracy to the text it is translating. We should be extremely familiar with the underlying texts of our translation, in this case the TR, and make it our yardstick that all translations are measured by instead of measuring all translations by the KJV.

@@northoftoofar3772 no, that was unsafe because there's evidence for it if you'll look around. Did you look into the two verses I told you to consider? There's a problem there, as there will be with any translation made from Greek manuscripts. An English translation done from aramic manuscripts, however, has surmised that in mark 14 : 3 and Matthew 26 : 6 "Simon the jar maker" (potter) was meant, for which there is no problem. There's acts 8 : 37, for which instead of being seen as an extra verse, it could now be seen as a skipped verse because the aramic ending in 38 was very similar to 37. We also know Jesus spoke aramic for there are places where aramic is there in the NT and then is translated (like with "Talitha cumi"). Josephus wrote of this as well.
