I will certainly be watching this again. I help my husband with his practice and take care of the home, but since my 5 of 6 children have moved out, I began thinking that maybe my dream of being a professional organizer is something that can actually happen. I'm excited and I also have the time to prepare and set myself up. This was so informative! You made mistakes and have already fixed them and shared those. Thank you so much! 🌺

You are a blessing! I honestly prayed for you. The next day you appeared in my KZfaq feed. You have so much helpful videos and I appreciate you sooo much! One question for you about donations. When you drop them off do u get the tax write off or does the clients get the tax write off? How does that work? Does that question even come up? I want to offer Donation drop off so they don’t have all the stuff in their house when I leave.

Hi Ana, thank you! Glad the Lord could bring us together in this way :-) To answer your question, unless you strike a specific deal with your client for transfer of ownership of their property, they would get the tax write off if they take the time to itemize all the items they donate. In most cases, clients don't want to take the time to do that.

When you use the collapsible crates for sorting. Do you leave them temporarily in the client house or do you transfer the stuff somewhere else when done sorting? I was thinking about cardboard boxes for sorting

Hi! This is a great question. Honestly, I stopped using them on most jobs and opt for those white laundry baskets from the Dollar Store, heavy-duty trash bags, or flattened cardboard boxes for the very reason you asked. I keep the collapsible crates on hand to transport items that are breakable or highly valuable, but that's about it.

Hello! Business insurance, in my opinion, is important for just about any type of serious business endeavor. In Professional Organizing you could 👇 Get injured Client could get injured Break something Lose something Accidentally donate something the list goes on but you get the point. Be smart and protect yourself.

You can buy them on Amazon. Some clients like to do that before recycling their papers if they don't have a shredder 🙂

Hi Melanie! I’m new in your channel but I’m loving it. What label maker are you using for big boxes or big containers. The one you have is good enough? I have one similar but it just make small labels and for big storage look silly

Hi Tatiana thanks for the support! To answer your question, I suppose it depends on the client's preference. My portable label maker has the ability to print in large font but if it still needs to be bigger I will print one label per word and space them out accordingly. My premium vinyl labels are an extra cost for time and labor.
