It's only a year old, but this already feels so nostalgic.

Arguably the darkest Element Animation song, possibly Minecraft song as a whole. I couldn't help but feel terrified once the Librarian figured it out and was practically being drowned out by everyone singing as he panicked and "Santa" got farther and farther away until it was too late.

The Villagers may be focused on trivial things, like Children being kidnapped by a shirtless man singing about his great big sack, but the real important thing about this video is - the voxel effect on the bag was so trippy, I loved that!

I love how Element Animations has never changed their stance on Santa Claus. You guys never disappoint me with what you’re able to create, thanks for spreading villager joy for so long.

I love how the subtitles are like a normal song subtitle until the Villager that notices Santas crime talks, then the subtitles are offset and blend in and out quickly, as if they just say whatever the Villagers say and don't just repeat the song. Thats a nice detail! I love you guys! You make the funniest animations! And songs I guess!

Plot twist, this takes this is connected to your door was locked Either this is the theif from last time in disguise coming for revenge Or it takes place before, and this is how Santa got locked up Or maybe Santa escaped and they forgot he was in the pit of death

I love the way they go from subtle implication to flat out someone saying their kids got stolen by Santa in such a smooth way. Great job guys!

I hope this gets a sequel where the villagers preform a rescue mission in their usual villager way to rescue the kids from Santa

I like how santa has the power to teleport the librarian, but doesn't use it to "adopt" the children. He uses an elf. 1:14. Good old-fashioned manual labour. Such a dedicated worker.

Santa went from "get in the bag" to successfully stealing every kid in the village while keeping the adults all distracted. Quite the character development

honestly, element animation and the massive team behind everything they do is one of the most consistent and best things to come to both the minecraft and animation community. always absolute stellar animation, and with the rather restricting form of minecraft models, its incredible what they can do

Just imagine what the situation must be like for the kids in that scenario. They're so happy that they are getting presents, or so they think, and suddenly they are inside that big sack. They struggle and scream desperately, calling out to their parents, but their parents' very singing makes it so nobody can hear them. Despite all the happy and cheerful music, this is actually one of the most terrifying things a kid can experience.

It's so good to see a full animation like this on a Christmas day, it can really brighten our day.

After 8 years we finally know why Santa was put in the Pit of Death.

This is actually a prequel to "Your Door Was Locked". Santa was in the Pit of Death, which means they eventually caught him and saved those kids.

Coming back after a year and after completely forgetting about it and now rewatching this I want to say….. Amazing work like always. Keep it up element! Take your time on these because we know no matter what it will turn out great.

I love this song but damn is this song dark 😂 I keep watching it because of how good it is and (as the villager at 2:57) says is catchy but santa kidnapped all the children!

2:11 this part is my favorite, I was not expecting that lol.

I love the small detail where the dancing villagers aren't quite in sync so it looks like actual dancing and less mechanical. Something else I noticed is the 2 people Santa physically interacted with were the ones that had the charm broken. We know the one that was yelling (Bumped at 0:41), but the other one was just assaulted by glitter repeatedly so he couldn't make much sense of what was going on (0:45 and 1:34).

After re-watching it a few times, I have found at least two elves in the video aiding the villager Santa in his mischief. The most noticeable one is at 1:15 behind the tree when the two villager children run up to receive their presents. However, there is one before this point at 0:34 in the background. He does not appear to be wearing the proper Christman acquire, but he looks awfully suspicious, hiding in the forest, so it is a good possibility that he is one of the elves.

I've grown out of the phase of watching Minecraft animations, but Element Animation is certainly an exception. So much charm and fun in every scene they animate, I love it!

Found some problems, if ya make a mistake video with this animation. 1:38 - Three villagers behind the Librarian are just completely still. Like they are not moving at all. 3:00 - If you look at the guy next to the nitwit in the background, another villager litterally walks through him and just chills in his body.

There's a reason Mojang themselves asked Element to do ads for the villager update. It's because they are the undisputed kings of making the best Minecraft villager content.

Okay, not the point, but I really like Librarian Villager as a straight player for the Villager series. I think he or she really adds a nice balance to the comedy by being just a little bit more intelligent than the rest. I hope they're a recurring character!

I can’t imagine singing this whole song with a straight face

I was in fact, watching this in the middle of July and the end part freaked me out

So I decided when I watched this back in December to come back and watch it in the middle of July to achieve "Absolute Legend," status. Achievement Unlocked... but now I just want to keep watching it because it is so catchy.

Did you know that the story this song is based on, the Pied Piper, is actually buried in truth? The tale goes that in 1284, a piper was hired to get rid of rats in the German town of Hamlin. But because he did the job so easily, the villagers refused to pay him the promised amount. So on 26th June 1284, the angered piper led their children away with his pipe-playing, just as he had led the rats to their deaths in the very same way.

at 1:15, you could see a green villager(possibly an elf) smiling far behind smiling at a distance. The amount in detail to turn a christmas song into something dark is hard to notice until the smart villager(does he have a name/number?) notices Santa is singing strange lyrics and going back to rewatch for more details on the environment and the song shows you the previous foreshadow. Please keep it up. Also, will there be a sequel?

When I started watching this, my thought was "aww! Wholesome villager Christmas content!" ... Then the librarian mentioned the kids were missing and this went from adorably wholesome to hilariously dark in 2 seconds!

What a fantastic Christmas carol. So festive. Makes you wonder just what exactly was in that big sack of his, but I guess we'll never know. Also I love all the little details going on. Not only do all the villagers have professions, but they have different levels of professions as shown by their belts. If you look behind the tree the children run to, an elf waits in lurk. The santa actually shoots the same guy with the magic dust since you can see he has a black eye the second time. The librarian at the end is tipped off because santa bumps into him, throwing off his groove. Everything is set up to minimize the number of people interacted with while making the whole thing a spectacle, that way the fewest villagers catch on as possible to the trance and he can get away with the whatever is in the sack at the end. Festive cheer, probably. It really is a wonder where all the children go throughout the video though... (Also the one guy getting absolutely DESTROYED by the candy cane present gun thing. Just FWOOMP knocked back off screen in a couple of frames. Fantastic. XD)
