Hello friends of the internet! I’ve always gotten many requests in the past to do a “What’s in my figure skating bag video” so I am finally giving the people what they wanted!

You motivated me to finally fulfill my goal of trying ice skating. I went this morning to a rink, and it was great. Lol, i barely let go of the board, and my right hand is still stiff from keeping it in the same shape. Am definitely going to get a private session because I couldn't figure out the push from one leg and glide with the other without transferring my weight back,

You can do it! I would definitely recommend trying out a private lesson or two if you have the budget for it. I would say it's important to have someone there to teach you the basics of good technique when you first start skating!

I'm gonna start ice skating classes and I'm so excited, before I hadn't had the oportunity to take them because the sport wasn't popular in my old country, but now that I've moved I can start, I wanted this so badly for years and NOW I CANNN, I'm watching this video to prepare for it, thank you so much, it's very useful for me :)

I love skating vlogs, especially when sick and can't go to the rink. I'm also curious about how you like the Revolution blades and if they are worth the money for an adult skater.

I really like my John Wilson gold seal revolutions! I would say what's most important is getting the right blade model down than seeing if you want the revolution feature. Some pros: it's supposed to be lighter (even though I don't feel too much of a difference) and it's supposed to help absorb impact (which is why I went with it to protect my longevity and my old bones lol) Some cons: it may be harder to find a skate technician who can sharpen them well because the sharpening is a bit different than normal blades and some have said the holes/spaces makes it harder to grab on to your blades for things like more advanced spins that require you to grab onto the blade. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much Rebecca! That means so much and you can do it! There are so many things we can be scared of in our short time here but truly the best way to live is to find things you love that challenge you and push you out of your comfort zone. Hopefully you will decide to start a skating journey of your own and would love to hear about it in the future!

tip for the socks: get cheap nylon socks that go to your knees, these nice thin ones (the see-through tights material), you can just wear these and they work really well. and because they are cheap you can buy a bunch and just wash them after each use (or else your shoes will stink so fast) and not worry if they get damaged. oh and i love wearing leg-warmers that go over my skates. for one it keeps my legs and part of my feet warm, protects my skates when doing slides, looks pretty and function as knee-padding for slides. (i knitted them myself but i think you can buy similar ones as well)

Thank you so much!! I'm so glad you enjoy the videos!! I actually bought all my dresses thus far from Ebay! It's honestly such a hidden gem for skating dress that look nice but are not expensive. I would find a seller that has good reviews and a lot of customers. I wouldn't buy from a place that has no reviews/established reputation. Hope that helps!

Question... how do you keep an eye on your stuff while you're skating on the rink? Aren't you constantly worried that your items will be stolen?

Great question! Usually what I do is I actually put all my stuff by the boards where the hockey box area is- that way I can keep my eye on it when I skate! I usually don’t like to leave my stuff in the lobby or just out and about because I have the same worries! I know different rinks have different policies but if they do let you put stuff by the boards I would recommend that. Hope that helps!

Ok I’ve been watching ur videos for a while now and I have to ask, I’ve had the “choirs line”Edas skates, for like 3 years now and I’m juvenile should I get new skates? Or would it be ok to just keep the chorus line skates?

Hi there! I think it depends on how much and how often you skate. I would say if you are doing double jumps and training 4+ days a week for the last 3 years, it may be potentially time to get new skates. If you have a coach that you trust, I would show them your skates and get an accurate assessment if whether or not you need new ones. If you are also competing or mid-season, I would strategically think about when to switch because there is an adjustment period and you likely don't want new skates a couple weeks before a competition. If the material around the ankle creasing has caused your ankle to feel instability when you land a jump even if you try to tie your skates super tight- that may be a telling sign for new skates. Hope that helps!

What size is your edea guards?

I believe my guards are an Edeas size small! I would double check with your skate shop, if you provide your blade length, they should recommend you which size fits best. For me I was right between a small and medium I believe.
