When you spend $300 or more on a blade, you’re going to want that to last a lifetime so you’ll need protection from wear and tear. Also having a quick bug out bag or something you already have prepared is a tactical advantage.

@@pastoralzeus8133 bugout bag makes sense. But a screen protector for my knife is stupid. It’s a knife, a tool. If I’m scared of scratching my knife maybe it should stay in the display case. 20 dollar beater has more value than a 300 dollar knife your scared to carry and scratch.

@@pastoralzeus8133 I agree that a bug out bag or pre-prepared kit is helpful in loads of situations. Thankfully none of my blades cost $300… yet! But I tend to use my kit for the intended purpose regardless of price. For me a higher tag means it should be able to take more abuse. I tend to research tons and buy once.

@@TheYoungBonsaiGuy Oooo, a knife screen protector!!! Maybe you're onto something!!! But joking aside, totally agree with your attitude of not babying your gear. I don't have vast collections of an particular gear (besides maybe patches!) and use what I've got well! Sounds like you might do similar?

You need to include an extra battery for the flashlight, overtime the battery can weaken and if it’s not changed regularly and god forbid you need it, it might not be useable. If it’s rechargeable I’d recommend a hand crank radio or charger (hand crank radios usually have usb ports nowadays) taht way if it runs out it can be recharged and used. Or if you really wanna go the extra mile get a slightly bigger bag and use rechargeable batteries that way you can have some charged in it and charged ready to go and you can charge them when they run out. Otherwise love the kit

That is a good shout. I do keep backup batteries for both this torch and my main pocketed EDC torch too. I used to swap them over every time I need to charge, but have got out of the habit, thanks for the reminder!

As close as I can figure zippo doesn’t make any butane lighters with or without electronic spark. But I could be wrong as I am only aware of North American Zippos. Perhaps wherever you are from they do. I would like to see the zippo stamp on the bottom of the case & on the insert. If it is indeed a true Zippo, where can I get one?

Hey! I am from the UK, but Zippo now make a Butane Insert (amzn.to/3Gq7YhN - affiliates link in case you want to help out our work, no worries if not!) which can be used on any of their lighters. There were third-party versions of this a while back, but I waited until Zippo made their own!

@joselito mueda Lighter about $20 the Spyderco $70 Flashlight $65 Victorinox $20 Nail clippers idk GBG mighty pouch $40 Swiss card idk Leatherman $35 And the sick zelda patches were probably $30 My guess for the complete EDC would be about $320 USD with tax, and 290 pounds

Ezra Terry isn't far off with the below with the retail value, but as with pretty much all my kit it's assembled over a long period of time, rather than purchased in one go. Also some have been gifted from family, or got through trades, so it's really hard to tell!

This may be ignorant, but I thought you weren't allowed to have knives in the UK?

We can carry a non-locking, sub 3" blade in public with only the reason of wanting to have a tool to hand. There are places where knives of any kind are not allow, for example museums, but these places usually have some kind of notice. Locking or fixed blades are actually allowed too, so long as you can give good reason for needing it. This usually applies to tradespeople etc., however it is always at the discretion of the police and of course if you're using anything as a weapon, that's not a good reason!

@@cherkovskystrokenov No problem, I must confess I have very little idea of knife laws anywhere else myself, but it makes sense to have a good idea of how it lies where I live!
