Good video appreciated the guide to the different books more especially the use of your notebook, taking notes and sketching the different parts of the trees and different things. Hunker down and stay safe.

This video has awakened in interest in tree identification. I had these two books, TREES by Alan Mitchell, and Taylor's Guide to Trees for many years, but maybe now I can enjoy this hobby along with my love for hiking.

You are prepared when you go out walking in the forest and with those books you should know about all the trees in your area.

Thanks fo the tree-tise on forestry books. I've seen the green Tree Finder book but put it back in the shelf to grab Peterson's Guide To Edible Plants before your warning in Extreme Wilderness Survival book about find an expert in the local Flora. Unfortunately, the biggest uni in my state is on lockdown so can't track down your recommendation for the forest book. I think wherever you were, that the trees around recognized the pulp as one of their own and liberated it. Lol. Thanks for sharing, Craig. Semper Fi.

Yeah man, hopefully your university has one similar to mine. Most do. However this book from U of Kentucky works for most of the Eastern woodlands too. If you cant find one in your area, let me know and I will send you one of these.

Thanks for the recommendations, I have a hard time identifying a lot of trees in the winter when there's no leaves on them.

All good books but frankly I don't wanna tote that extra weight in my bag. Read 'em at home and learn the important points then leave 'em there, not creating extra weight in your bag.

Everyone has their own method, I am glad that one works for you.
