I'm quite far north in the north east of England and the Noctilucent Clouds have,so far ,been poor this year.The only ones I have seen have been far to the north forming bands along the northern horizon.They look very similar at that angle to the Nacreous Clouds that I saw for the first time in January.Last year the Noctilucent Clouds were directly overhead.

Last night was the first time I saw noctilucent clouds while staying in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. Too bad I didn't have any gear to record it. But it was very cool, and I wouldn't have realized it if you hadn't told us what they are. Thanks Alyn!

Great video! Ive been watching videos about ha filters and I watched yours and noticed that my final stacked image of the ha image and hargb images were very noise and the ha didn’t give me much of the nebula. the first time I tried it I took pictures of the North America nebula and got around 3 hours of exposure time. I added it on to my rgb image which had around 5 hours of exposure time too. When I stacked the final image it was very noisy and there wasn’t much nebula, I use the canon 75-300mm f/5.6 kit lens and it’s an expensive filter. Do you think it’s the lens that’s making the noise since it’s only a kit lens or could it be the filter?

Alyn, Is there any video that you explain how to differentiate the different meteor shower that occurs at the same month. Like end of this month, the 3 meteor showers peaking almost at the same date. Thanks for another great video! Sadly, mercury and venus stand too low for me here in Germany! Great luck getting a good shot in Turkey, though!! I submitted my picture! I think this isnt the worst way since its reducing the amount of pictures you get. Otherwise Id say the idea of #witns_year_month is a good one.

Could you say something about how you would solve doing a milky way image with a city visible? The biggest problem, I think, will be the light pollution on the sky? An ND filter covering the city part will probably take care of that part, but the light spills up into the sky part... Appreciate any wisdom into this problem. Also been thinking about doing two images and combine them. Maybe there is a filter to minimize the light pollution?
@owengee7415

no solution, adding an nd filter over the sun doesnt make stars appear either

@@SveinWisnaes Even when all light pollution was sodium based, light pollution filters wouldn't allow you to capture the Milky Way from a city. You can cover the lights with an ND filter all you want but the light is illuminating all the particles in the atmosphere and creating a veil that you can't see through. You're only hope is a relatively small city that is at sea level and you are shooting from a high altitude mountain nearby, helping you get up and out of the light dome a bit. But otherwise I'm afraid there's no magic trick that can allow you to see the Milky Way from a city.

Instagram is broken. The Meta destroyed it like every thing they touch 🤬 … never touch a running system. But they didn’t listen. What ever maybe you could change the platform to Vero there should be a „normal“ hashtag system. And plus point the pics are available in a higher resolution.
