We don't come to watch because your metal detecting videos are loaded with in-depth technical insight and techniques, or because you find something every time you burry the spade, we can get that on any metal detecting channel. Most of us are just regular folks who detect when we can and we come here because the hobby can generate extremely tough and boring days with no reward other than exercise, and in your videos, you can make a day like that entertaining. We enjoy it when you have a great find, but sometimes you make not-so-great finds in some way entertaining. Good Luck rebuilding your momentum.

the iron pot looks like a wheel hub cover for a old cart or trailer

A farmer might have used that bent iron pot to pour oil into a tractor's engine if he didn't have a funnel. After all, for many years farmers and farriers routinely made farm tools and I imagine that pouring from some old pot would have been much more economical than having to buy a funnel.

The pot may just be one of those pots you see in churches where they burn something in it to make the white smoke come out

Dan, wouldn't it have been easier (and safer) to soak the pot in water to loosen up the soul trapped inside it? You and Mazzy should take a road trip to Germany for some proper detecting.

about as much luck as i get detecting..went up to flambro/ bempton area..kyle found £3 NEW and out lass found £1. i found a lump of copper and a ringpull

I have a question about finds. On occasions you go detecting and have a car for easy transport of heavy things with you on site, why don't you bring a small container of water like a Tupperware tub to better clean off your finds? Or even a bottle of water to pour a few drops onto a toothbrush to clean off stuff like buttons and coins? Also why didn't you dunk that pot in a bucket of water to get the dirt out easier? Is water harmful to dug up finds?

Do you know the age of the pot? Might be worth having it looked at. Could be of some significance. Cee from the little haunted cottage in Ireland 💚💚💚🍀🍀🍀
