Today we get a look at a 1986 GMC 7000 E-One lifted 4x4 engine from Corolla Fire & Rescue that costs $300,000! This engine is an absolute beast! Equipped with a diesel engine, 500 gallon water tank, and a 750 GPM Hale pump, this engine is ready for anything! Corolla Fire & Rescue is able to take Engine 64 onto the beach and fight fires on both sides of the beach front homes. We took it for a ride on the beach to see how it really handles the sand! Corolla is on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and they are the mutual aid for Carova, which is an all sand road beach town north of them. This engine greatly provides for Corolla and the whole Outer Banks community! If you want to learn more about Corolla Fire 7 Rescue, please visit them at corollafireandrescue.com/

I used to be a firefighter,my dad, both my uncle's, I was at the same dept my uncle's were on. I've always had a love for firetrucks, partial to old school because it looks so good. There's a old La France at my former dept that is just a great example of a cool old school rig, it's a 80's model Century top mount with open rear jump seats, screaming demon Detroit, it's what made firetrucks cool, I remember riding in it when I was a kid and there was a bell on the front bumper that you pulled a rope in the cab to ring it, I used to love to play with that bell.

Spent enough time in Corolla to know exactly where the beach part was filmed even before the lighthouse appeared. Last year I made it to actually see Carova Beach FD. Haven't seen their rigs in person. But have seen them on their Facebook page. Impressive when you realize it's all offroad for them. They have a good sized tanker and an aerial on a commercial chassis

Love that you went down to Corolla (the Chief says it right, not you, gotta let you know that part). Truly the OBX is my happy place and the fire departments down there are an amazing group, they are seperate but operate as one. They face unique challanges, from the 4x4 beach of Carova (that is mentioned here) to the continious winds that made this the place the Wright Brothers chose. I've listened to them and I've heard some of the most unique but yet most organized fire attacks that I've ever heard.

It was later sold to Brigantine NJ FD and then was replaced by a BRAT. No idea where it is now. Okay, I found the original delivery pic when it went to Absecon. It was a 1981 GMC. These days the millennial generation firefighters have more money tied up in flashing lights ,sirens, computers,& fancy paint & letters than they do in actual firefighting equipment & training! Most of the newer millennial " firefighters " think drafting means blowing the foam off the head of their beer mug! They don't know much about drafting, water conservation or fire hydraulics! Friction loss is a mystery to them! Great to see an " old school" pumper still in service; one that doesn't need all the fancy bells & sirens to put out a fire!

@@brentjmichael that’s not what I’m saying. I’m saying I can value my 2002 for $70k. Cuz that’s what a new one is. No I can’t. You can’t value this truck at $300k either.

@@ryanwebb9099 gonna have to disagree since I've been pricing various pieces of apparatus with different manufacturers over the last 4 months. Some guy was in comments saying class 3 pumper in California don't cost 300k. A quick Google search will find you'll spend at least 400k on a class 3 pumper.

What totally amazes me is that these guys obviously think it's okay to hrun Red emergency lights while everybody in the world knows that ONLY Blue is allowed on emergency vehicles. Fire impersonator....

It depends on where you live. Ours are red for EMS and fire with red and blue for police and just blue for volunteers
