According to German law, the employee has to be granted at least two weeks of vacation in a row, to really relax and to "recharge the batteries".
@b2w4life649 ай бұрын
i thought its 22 days a year minimum
@kristjanoinus9 ай бұрын
I guess it's the same in Germany that one vacation a year must be at least 14 days in the row. The rest of vacation days (out of 28 days in total usually; at least here in Estonia) you can take even one by one if you can agree so with the employer.
@Why-D9 ай бұрын
@@kristjanoinus yes, very similar.

@@b2w4life64 the minimum in Germany is 4 weeks, depending on your working days a week this are at least 4 to 24 days a year.

Compare salaries and expenses in Korea and Europe and many people would be happy to work in Korea and have short time vacation.
@diedampfbrasse989 ай бұрын
@@user-nj7ek9kg3t many people maybe, but certainly not many Germans. Never met a german who wants less vacation and free time every day. And as soon as the expenses of a decent life are covered most germans give up on chasing the additional Euro if it means more work ... I often have people decline a raise when it ment to add workhours, even if those additional hours are payed with a bonus. Companies complain a lot about this german mentality, especially foreign ones which try to do business in Germany.

@@diedampfbrasse98the baby boomers in Germany were quite different. A lot of them were very hardworking.
@diedampfbrasse986 ай бұрын
@@flopunkt3665 wtf you are on about? its those "baby boomers" who got the drive for shorter work weeks rolling again after the WW2 intermission. „Samstags gehört Vati mir!“ - 'saturdays dad belongs to me!' is a famous 50s slogan of the union fight for the reintroduction of shorter 40h work weeks ... the german working class always were for short workdays/weeks and this got nothing to do with hardworking, as shortening the work hours actually raised productivity in germany. There isnt a single generation of german workers who wanted to work long and hard, the successful fight to shorten work goes back to the late 1910s and with the exception of wartime economies this fight never went out of fashion in Germany. its just silly to project this baby boomer nonsense onto Germany, here we dont have such generational divides in the working class ... thats just populistic nonsense in total ignorance to history.

Its what they say in public, they won't say bad things about Germany because its not polite. If you are Korean and talk to them in private, completely different POV will be presented. From Koreans I know only those who work in creative industries want to stay in Germany, because competition is much lower here.

As of right now, we are also looking for skilled workers. I get job ads for electricians promising salaries of 4000€ per month, 13 wages per year and benefits on a regular bases. You can also move to Germany and start an apprenticeship, but German skills are mandatory for that.

Well we also value work experience over certifications and diplomas. However, for foreigners to get a work/residence permit from the government, there needs to be tangible proof of qualification and only official diplomas - that also need to get nostrification by educational authorities - fulfill this requirement.
