And China is not a superpower. Now you could make the argument that it is economically though they are unable to enforce it and their Belt and road initiative hasn’t worked like planned. But it definitely isn’t a militarily. The Chinese military is hella over hyped. And maybe technological but they steal a lot of western tech. English language news sites can be browsed without vpn (although I've tried it around 3 years ago)

it depends on your options. China is a great idea but it certainly isn't the best idea. There are other places but some of these may be inconvenient, far from home, or hard to get access to their top quality education (let's face it all countries have a higher and lower end of education level)
