Applying to Tsinghua as foreign student: Easy! Applying to Tsinghua through GaoKao: Hell! You only need as 1500 SAT 3.8GPA and pretty decent APs to get in. GaoKao is another story!

@Your Lover well technically those schools are for the best after all, you've seen Tsinghua's and Beijing's and Fudan's rankings in the world right? Look at their alums as well, just absolutely astronomical. I respect the people that are able to get into the school a lot. Coming from a neighboring country I could tell how rigorous those tests are, we also have to learn like 12 subjects a year and get 6 subs in our uni entrance test so I guess it's fair to get the foreign students tested as well. Gettin some fairness here. jmo

I loved the lady and the song at the end! LMAO.... I think Chinese people are really open to make new friends, the problem may rely on language barrier. For this reason, I want to apply only when my level of Chinese has improved. :) When I was learning English, I did this in USA - I tried to make friends with the locals and it was the best experience I have ever had!

Bruh I'm a Chinese national and unfortunately the only way I can get myself in there is through Gaokao. No other system can copy the amount of stress and depression we're feeling right now.

As a Chinese high school kid in Henan province, you must be in the top 100 of 1M high school graduates to have a chance to be admitted to Tsinghua's undergraduate programs. When it comes to the top Engineering/Computer majors, it can be 20 out of 1M....

If I am from a foreign country and I want to study in China, will my future employer think that Tsinghua is impressive? Or will they think, "Oh, it is easy for foreigners." ?

@@LA-cm9uo If you are looking for a job in China after graduation, they will know it is easier for foreigners to get in but they will also look at your skillset. If you are competent enough you'll always be able to find a good job. Good luck with it.

true but look at Tsinghua application for foreign exchange students （留学生）, it's nothing compared to Harvard. But if you get in through GaoKao, it's crazy.

Yea! You can take a chinese class the summer before you enrol or during the first year since there are heaps of classes taught in English! Search up the requirements, its all online.

Some Chinese rich people change the nationality of their children only for entering Tsinghua university easierly because it’s hard to enter Tsinghua uni in China!

@@gddrtgddrt6465 You don't have to be rich to do that, obviously you've got to have some money, but you don't have to be rich, but yeah, some parents do. For example, me. A part of Chinese students think it's unfair because they worked SO hard, only for you to get in without working half as much as they did, understandable, but life isn't fair, you know? I'm kind of sad since that guy seemed like he sort of lost his heritage, that is, if he is from China, because he might not be. He could be Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese in heritage. Or his great-great-great grandparents were Chinese.

I am currently a foreign high school student does someone know how to enter/apply to Tsinghua University *after baccalaureate/high school diploma?* (except having good grades lol) do we have to have a good level in english? do we have to pass a hard exam to know your level before enter it? if yes, in which language? do we have to pass HSK or something like that? i have a lot of questions but Tsinghua seems really like the best university in the world and i am scared to be badly surprised by some procedure that i didn't know... thank you

@@light_amaka We have a lot of Nigerian students here, Tsinghua University. I don't know. There are many African-American students in my city, and they have a lot of scholarships.
