Founded in 1987, this company began its activities as a private airline and has expanded considerably since then.
Today, it is the second largest airline in Greece, the result of the union with Cronus Airlines and Air Greece. From 2005 onwards, a commercial partnership with Lufthansa began.
The company currently operates a fleet of 24 aircraft, offering domestic flights within Greece and to destinations in Europe.
In relation to Portugal, the company has had a code-sharing agreement with Tap Portugal since March 2006, although it does not operate regular direct flights between the two countries.
In February 2010, the merger with Olympic Air, its main rival in Greece, was announced.
This agreement includes the gradual integration of the two companies' fleets, the coordination of schedules on routes where they both operate directly and the eventual discontinuation of the Aegean brand.
