I'm from New Delhi and I stayed in Korea for a month during July. What Seetha said about Latinos and Indians having similar looks but one being fetishized and the other being frowned upon is so true. I would go to clubs and men would assume I'm a Latina (Brazilian or Spanish). The way they would change the way they talked to me or treated me the moment I would tell them I'm Indian was insane. They would shift from being interested (even desperate sometimes) to being dismissive in an instant. Also, I didn't really face as much racism as my black roommate. I would mostly get taxis without trouble but whenever I was with her, the taxis would almost never stop for us /: I hope the younger generation of Korea really changes the way their country treats people from other countries who have nothing but love and respect for Korea's culture, country, and people. Xenophobia is so prevalent in Korea unless they're dealing with a race they fetishize.

I personally feel like Korea is living in a virtual world created by themselves where everything is fairy, butterfly etc... basically a strawberry duniya for them. No one try to accept reality, they loved to learn from tv, movies and from other virtual stuffs.

I can never understand people hating on people who eat curry when they themselves eat every species of the world😭.

Once we were in a group and a korean said oh indian food is very spicy and smells strong ,I don't like it ,I just kept quiet but my friend who is a caucasian turned to that person and said really ,the worst smelling food I ever had was Kimchi 😂

India is a very big market for Korea. Korea is not a big market for anyone. I ain't buying anything Korean after this.

They are saying our masala(spices) stinks but not all those sea food,meat,kimchi ?!?😂

I wish the others had been as upfront and clear as the girl in purple top and she seems well traveled. She was able to pick on all the micro-agressions. She made a valid point about latinas being fetishized while Indians are looked down upon. It seemed like some of the incidents others described were racist but they weren't able to differentiate until unless it is something direct. The girl in the white sweater seemed extremely desperate to fit in. Yet sadly Indians these days are obsessed with Korean content.

I have travelled like about 17 countries so far, and from my entire travel experience to a, i can definitely say that racism in Korea is one of the most horrible on this planet! Also once 2 Korean women tried to create a overly dramatic scenes on middle of a well known road in Delhi to showcase their superiority!

In our Korean university as an Indian one day at cafeteria a guy told me 'black tea matching ur skin color '😢 Then I said 'Hey white sugar if you speak about me anything again then I will melt u in this black tea '🙂 I don't know why then he was laughing 😄

First of all... all these people were amazing. The second thing i wanna say is that... man, you are such empathetic person, you were letting people say, you listening to them, you were so warm!! love yaa!!

I am queer indian visited Korea in Jan I never really experienced harsh bullying in Shimla Himachal Pradesh India (my home town) I lived in Kolkata and Bangalore as well and I think Kolkata is one of the most liberal cities that I have seen so far as well as I have really great friends in Bangalore and life was very soothing there as well. People used to call me by bad words in starting but everything got better in just few days, but in Korea like I was dating a guy in Seoul we were holding hands and we were in a elevator but not even a single person entered the elevator after seeing both of us together they left... We were sitting in a cafe talking normally and a men came to US and he said very harsh and racist things to us especially to me. I felt way more happier and safer in India as compared to Korea which is like so called a developed country.

i liked the purple top girl responses straight to the point no sugarcoating she might not be Indian i mean nationality wise (assumed from her real accented words i might be wrong) yet she was more upfront of the stereotype brown people face in Korea, yet the rest tried to be more passive aggressive and played safe like their experiences might not that be bad but if they had tried to talk in more genuine and approach manner without trying too hard on that accent then it would have been understandable. experiences differ from person to person yet purple top lady and brown top lady actually were sensible.

Korea has successfully managed to sell a fake pretty dream like image of their country but in reality it is completely different.

The amount of ppl triggered by Seeta's accent and judging her based on her "pansexual" and "hindu". Yes , an indian CAN have an accent like her without faking. Her nationality stated by HERSELF is AN INDIAN FROM SOUTH INDIA. FYI ppl , foreigners don't know every single nitpicky things like HINDU N HINDI, for that they'll have to delve deeper into our especially in korea where they think INDO =Indonesia or India.

I have been living in India as a student for more than three years now. I was not able and rejected many times to rent a house/apartment as I was a foreigner and a person who comes from a different nationality and have a different belief. On the other hand, I have met a lot of nice and friendly people too. The most important thing is that we should never generalize.

Dude curry smells good. Whoever doesn’t like the smell of spices have something wrong with their nose. Cinnamon, Cardamom, Coriander, Ginger, these are amazing aromas. Korean Cultural Centre in Delhi is trying so hard to promote Korea among Indians but I feel like the generals population is racist and they need to work on that. No one wants to go to a country where they are disrespected, especially not us Indians

This shows that we should all embrace each others differences whether we are black, Asian, white, Christian, Hindu, Muslim

My father is software engineer he worked in japan 🇯🇵 for 3 years in korea 🇰🇷 for 2 years in usa 🇺🇸 for 6 years and then at last he came to India 🇮🇳 on he works in Hyderabad which is 2 hours far from aur hometown village Now he hangout with is real childhood friends ,,goes to chai tapri ,, plays cricket,,enjoy every Indian festival,he and his chaddi dost dance in front of DJ songs in middle of roads on festival like ram navami , shivaji maharaj jayanti , bajarang javanti 🚩 ,,etcc…… He always tells that people nowadays are leaving india and Indian culture just to look cool on internet and make fake friends and get depressed all the time … people nowadays enjoy halloween 🎃 party’s Christmas 🎄 which is okay but they because they wanna look cool But the truth is we have more interesting stuff then those dancing on DJ songs on road in shivaji maharaj , bajarang 🚩 ,ganpati , ram jayanti 🚩, holi , diwali , and many many more((not in religious way but in fan way )),, but people are like if we do this we are not cool not everyone but these new gen z people

In India we aren't any better to people who look different than us. Look how the northeastern states are treated in other parts of India and how the non locals are treated in the Northeast. How the South are treated in the North and vice versa. It's universal and we all have to do better to acknowledge our differences in looks, culture, food habits (as i can see some commenting that Koreans eat everything that breathes).

Hai ! I'm an Indian 22yrs old and staying in Seoul for a few months will be going to India next week just want to share my experience so far in Korea has been Amazing ! and enjoyable. I love the people, food, fashion, punctuality and culture. I've not faced any racism till now and my friends are very inviting and respect me. I've learnt many valuable things and lessons like being punctual,disciplined,manners,and how to even travel by myself although i'm with my family now, initialy it was hard because of the language barrier but after few weeks i took the effort to learn Hanguel and my lifestlye changed

I find it quite unfair that the video has been edited in a manner that all the good answers were left out. A majority of information represented a balanced Idea, but that was left out. It's a shame the video was edited to be like this. I had a 30-minute video discussing the pros and cons of living here. I even spoke up about my mental health and personal life to help spread knowledge and awareness. It is extremely shameful and sad that the video was edited so that it comes off as complaining when a balanced opinion was given and important pointers were spoken about. The good was completely left out. If you are going to be a KZfaqr please report the truth and not just the half-truth. This is embarrassing.

Its pretty much the same in New Zealand too in terms of accommodation. I personally believe Landowners have every right to choose who to rent their place. Not everyone likes the smell of curry. Also, I have heard stories of Black people getting turned away from accommodation in India. India is not a saint place as these Indians claims. Every country has its own share of racism we humans are inherently racist. That's the unfortunate reality.If you don't like it go back to your own nation no one is stopping anyone from leaving right.
