We love Canada's West Coast! We decided to revisit one of our favorite parts of the world, but in a slightly different city. A few of our favorite things about the city include:
- Riding the Seabus
- Lonsdale Quay
- Hiking
- Joey's Shipyards
- The Tap & Barrel
- Cheshire Cheese Restaurant and Bar
- Earnest Ice Cream

you have to check out the Rusty gull kitchen & pub on east 1st. N. Van. , Wednesday is burger night and their burgers are great. For pizza I would try the 10 rich toppings from Andreas on 16th. St. off Lonsdale.

North Vancouver is beautiful! It is pricey and the traffic can be horrendous, though. We live in South Delta and love it.

When you’re back at Lonsdale Quay, Cilantro & Jalapeño has amazing pico de Gallo - they sell it in to-go containers in the fridge in their grocery section. Good Mexican food is really hard to come by here, and their pico is great. I agree that Earnest Ice Cream makes fantastic cookies & creme. ❤️. They also have a few locations in Vancouver itself…definitely one of the better ice cream shops in our area.

Your pizza looks so good. Love potatoes on top of pizza. I make my own 4 ingredient pizza with Flour, Bkg pdr, salt and Greek Yogurt, plus desired toppings. Ready in about 15 minutes. Tastes just like the ‘real’ thing, but getting from a pizza place is so nice too!

Thank you! Really enjoy all your posts. the cost of housing in both Vancouver and Toronto have gotten out of control. My own house here in London, Ontario has tripled in value in the seven years since I bought it. Due to the Toronto effect and that is insanity. It appears you have already gone east to your next destination. If you are ever through or staying near Sarnia, Ontario you have to stop at Alberts Rolling Lunch under the Bluewater Bridge for the world's best fries!
@chrisplusmelissa
@chrisplusmelissa 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info... you have a nice problem with the house tripling in value! And Darn it... we went to Sarnia and had lunch at Milanos (the staff (owners we're thinking) were super awesome and the food good and quite inexpensive)

@@chrisplusmelissa. Hey! Milano's is just about my favorite pizza place in Sarnia. Yup, probably the owners. Glad you enjoyed! That and Enzo's a few blocks north. Enzo's was a favorite when I was growing up near the lake.

I owned a 3 bedroom, 2 bath townhouse in North Van down near the Seabus. Bought it in 1998 for $210,000. Sold it in 2006 for $400,000. Thought I did well at the time.... turns out it was the worst financial move I ever made.

That's no fun. However, I've heard that the Canadian housing market is a big bubble. Not sure if it is... that's what I've heard. FYI...I've made countless poor financial moves. :D

Love Vancouver! Unfortunately, can't afford to live there. If you are in eastern Canada and have the time you should check out Ottawa. Its a quiet government city of just over a million people with lots of outdoor stuff to do. There's no mountains, but they do have the Gatineau hills. It is famous in the rest of Canada as the "place that fun forgot" which isn't true unless you're a twenty something looking for a place to party.

Ok you have to be rich to live in west or north van but if you look other places youll find affordable places ,for instance New Westminster 20 mins. by car to North van west van or out into maple ridge golden eats park, basically New west is centre of lower mainline .housings prices portside brand new townhouses by Fraser river 649000 k or my building 17th floor concrete building 1300 sq ft 799000. I guess my point is you can always visit van from central N.W.and there a lot of restaurants you two would love ,still mountain views but river instead of ocean

Thks for your comments back ,since I've lived whole life here pls let me enlighten you as to what other places you'd love to see and hike in summer ski in winter . First Bunsen lake , golden ears ,manning park ,Harrison lake ,Chehalis river ( watch out for saskwatches known to be seen here ) so you might not miss north van Cyprus mins grouse mtn. trails so much . B C licence says beautiful for great reasons. Lastly chiliwack Hope area where water is so pure they only started processing water in last couple years, Nestle gets it water you've probably drank from there. Hope this helps you in your quest. Ps if you want to see heritage house go from 6th street N W go along Queens ave to start heading towards queens park. Once finished turn up or down any streets between . It would make a great episode for you an you'd see houses you couldn't build anymore and one's that have been in movies and tv shows you've probably seen or walk the quay boardwalk about three miles ( new condos and townhouses there also ,good luck on your quest

@@chrisplusmelissa BY FAR GOLF! There are 6 million golfers in Canada (versus only 1.3 million hockey players). In fact - Canada has more golfers in proportion to its total population than anywhere else, making it the most popular golf country in the world!

horrible place now...over saturated...too many towers being built...too many people which creates traffic. City council could not care less except letting developers build more and more towers. Been here for 60 years so I know what i''m talking about.. Millions was spent on hyway1 which resulted in zero solution to the daily 20 min wait from westview to second narrows bridge. disgusting...DO NOT MOVE HERE

Change is constant and not always good for everyone. I think a lot of cities in a lot of countries are feeling what Vancouver is feeling.
