Thanks for bringing us back to this place. Love to see how gardens progress over the years. We don’t get enough follow up after new landscapes are installed. So helpful !

That garden turned out great Jim. No lawn which is even better. Would like to see more native plants and just hate the invasive Forsythia and English ivy. Good vision and installation of that garden

Everything is beautiful there in the garden that you all did last year. It's just amazing how much has grown in just 12 months. With me living in zone 5B new 6A, my daffodils are opening up, my Quence is budding up, and my hellbores look fabulous. ❤❤

My parents used to have a loquat in the back yard of their beach home in Shallotte NC. I have a number of plants around my home's foundation that do well in their microclimates, including rhododendron, azalea and camellia. The rhododendrons' roots are shaded by Japanese plum yew shrubs. I've got a Carolina jessamine growing on a new outdoor archway I installed this past autumn. It's just starting to bloom - a couple weeks earlier this year. I've also got some ipheon plants growing at the raised-bed base of a mimosa tree.

Wow, they really have taken off! I’ve got daffodils that are a day or two away from blooming, and crocus that are blooming their heads off, here in Indiana 6a. Iris and daylilies are poking out of the ground, but no sign of the peonies or hostas yet. Just as well, since we’re about to get second winter. 😅

Bummer season in Knoxville, TN. Our 80 plus hours below freezing and down to -2 one night in mid January has left my late winter bloomers looking bad. Leaves are putting on early hiding the flowers that’s there. Better hopes for spring!

I truly loved this walk through the neighborhood. Right away I recognized the first property by its terrain and property - looks great. I've been a subscriber for at least a few years and I continue to appreciate you and Stephany labeling the plants by name and the zone on the screen - super helpful. The shot of the pups in the window = priceless ❤❤

My Loropetalum are all going above and beyond right now! The Zhuzhou we added last year is the star, but even the unknown variety that we inherited planted along the foundation has extra pep in its step this year. Honorable mention to the PJM Elite Star Rhododendron - newly planted but blooming like crazy. Will have to watch to be sure it doesn't get too much summer sun, but it's obviously quite happy right now!

Our daffodils are blooming in 6B (7A) New Jersey. Sadly, so are our patches of lesser celandine! The forecast for next week is for lows in the upper 20s and low 30s over four nights- so I expect some things are going to get knocked back. I plan to cover what I can in the way of hydrangeas and magnolias. As you say, the plants will live but the blooms could suffer.

I already commented but my kid is wondering what the stuffed animal’s name is that’s behind you in the beginning. Two are where do you find those bakers lilac tulips(I think that was the name). I am in 7b and struggle to have tulips come up more than one season. Those looked so gorgeous I’d like to find some. My neighborhood is full of daffodils right now. The dwarf panicle hydrangeas are starting to leaf out and an array of bulbs are showing off like crocus and squill. The irises are coming up, no flowers yet but the foliage is so pretty that I had to mention them. As always love these tours! They’ve been a real favorite of mine. Your neighborhood must be gorgeous. I know those celadons are invasive but they’re also very beautiful. It’s sad they’re invasive because at first I thought that someone had made that their lawn. Now I have to look this plant up and see where it’s native too because even invasive have a place they belong.

My yard is sometimes clay and sometimes sand. I've been adding soil conditioner to the clay when I plant and top soil to the sandy areas. My new plants are doing okay, but I don't have this kind of growth. Is there something I should be doing differently?
