"The 12 Chairs" is one of Brooks' best films and also the most overlooked.

I thought Mel Brooks was disguised as the nun because of the thumbnail

Thanks for sharing this episode. Nice to see Bennett Cerf on the panel. I wonder if he made his appearance on TTTT around the same time? Sadly he would pass away about 9 months after this.

He most likely did so. Some of the 1969 Bennett Cerf episodes of “To Tell The Truth” are available for viewing here on KZfaq.

So much more alive in color.. would love to see the last few seasons of the original series in color if anyone could ever find them!

Sorry, but they were all kinescoped in black-and-white. I am surprised that no big-city television stations ever taped any episodes of the show during its final prime-time season.

@@LaptopLarry330 There was a tenor named Raoul Jobin whose Metropolitan Opera broadcasts today exist in terrific sound because he paid someone to record them for him. If there is a similar situation with these telecasts, they could exist somewhere in color.

It could be possible, but I doubt it. Most of the “Mystery Guests” during the final prime-time season of the show were A-list stars that were over 30 at the time. The only two younger stars that appeared during that season, that I can recall seeing on reruns of the show, were Mia Farrow and Raquel Welch.

That nun was f.o.s. Napoleon was of average height for a Frenchman of his day. The “Napoleon inferiority complex” is a myth.

Now I know where Robin Williams got the idea that he could pass as an older woman. I have never seen a man dressed as a "nun" before! Please forgive me if I am wrong but........smh

Wally Bruner has at least here, no TV presence. Anytime you even slightly frown on TV, it appears that you are extremely scowling. I learned that when I was in TV. And, he also does not know that he as a gameshow host cannot always sound cheesed off or like a taskmaster. He couldn't tie John C. Daly's shoes.. And, how could they be fooled that badly vis-a-vis the faux nun/transvestite? Or, is there something that I missed?

The old show was better. It had more time for questions and fun. The egg girl's session was way too short. Plus, most of the mystery quests were either television personalities or musicians. Almost no movie actors.
