A very rare complete episode of the BBC version of "What's My Line?", hosted by Eamonn Andrews-- virtually the entire 1950s BBC series is lost. Thanks to the help of several viewers in the comments, I think we can safely peg this show as having aired on Oct. 5, 1957. Many thanks to darijoe, dizzyology and Save theTPC for helping figure this out!
MYSTERY GUEST: Denis Compton (Cricket player)
PANEL: David Nixon, Isobel Barnett, Barbara Kelly, Gilbert Harding
Many thanks to Matthew Coniam, a friend who very kindly sent this to me all the way from the UK. Matthew, not incidentally, is the author of a brand new book on the Marx Brothers which I can't recommend highly enough: "The Annotated Marx Brothers: A Filmgoer's Guide to In-jokes, Obscure References, and Sly Details". This is easily the best book on the Marxes to have been published in at least the last 40 years, so if you're a fan of the Marx Bros-- even if you have a shelf full of books on the team already-- you can't afford not to check this one out!
