Burt Reynolds, great sense of humor, cool, and was Quint on Gunsmoke for a couple of years in the mid 60's before a year or two as Dan August, A Quinn Martin Production. My first car, black 1977 Trans Am, got it in November 1976 for my 16th birthday, 7 months before Smokey and The Bandit came out. RIP.

It was possible to continue with both Arlene Francis and John Charles Daly until 1975. Both were still in excellent health in 1975 to continue working with the show. It wasn't possible to continue Dorothy Killgallen on the panel after her death in 1965 and Bennett Cerf continuing on the panel after his death in 1971 but I wish the show in colour after 1967 could have continued with John Charles Daly hosting until 1975.

I have just been reading Judy Carne’s book, “Laughing on the Outside, Crying on the Inside: the Bittersweet Saga of the Sock it to me Girl.” She describes how she and Burt Reynolds fell in love, married, but eventually divorced, 1963-5. She found him too controlling. He married again, Loni Anderson, 1988-94. He also had a five-year affair with Sally Field, who dropped him when she decided it wouldn’t last. A great actor and attractive guy, but couldn’t settle into a long term relationship.

Although it was an April Fool's response, Burt actually charged at Tom...

Burt was true to form here. Notice the high heeled shoes? Reynolds wore high heels every waking moment of his life. Burt's Achilles heel was his insecurity of not being tall. So, between the toupee and the high heels, he was phony from head to toes, LITERALLY.

Why is this so fast since the 50s version? Did peoples attention span die in a decade?

You can see Burt's hair piece. Never liked his personality...always seemed liked he had to prove something.

Did they turn a classy weekly game show into a daily '70s syndicated show? Ugh!
