Awesome! Thanks for posting this! Question: do you know if GIMP still supports JPEG thumbnails? I know previous versions would show an embedded thumbnail if one was present but current/recent versions don't seem to do this. Thanks again for reviewing GIMP 2.99.14!

I use GIMP quite a bit for 3-D model liveries and the Outline/Filled Text will save me alot of manipulation.

It appears to me that what happened at 7:20 when you tried to align the square to the cirlce as reference object was that GIMP still aligned the center of the square's layer, instead of the actual content as it should have done. The result may seem random at first but if we look carefully, the center of the square layer is at the dead center of the circle. It maybe a bug or an intended behavior when you use a reference object. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Both the circle and the box layers were still selected, maybe that throws it off?

I tried 2.99.16 text outline and it’s actually an online, not outline. Someone on the GIMP forum told me this is a know issue and they’re working on a fix. So, right now, this feature is almost useless.

This and Krita combined can replace Photoshop completely in my opinion.

I'm just waiting for them to add adjustment layers. Then I'll switch over.

@@bhaswardutta4890 that's the reason why I'm using Krita as well. Krita has adjustment layers for quite awhile now. They are pretty similar to PS. As a digital painter the more important part is probably the brush engine and brush creation tool. I find it to be unmatched by any other software on the market, proprietary or free.
