I picked up this device today and have already put about 4 hours of test use in. I am absolutely blown away by how well thought out and fully featured this device is. It's the most impressive thing I've seen since the original ATEM mini. Thanks Aaron for your coverage and help in making this decision!

Yeah, same here, the Mini is just amazing. Especially the user interface is really nice... all very intuitive. I'm so happy that I switched from the YoloBox Pro, which I felt lived never up to the hype that's been created by YoloLiv. What I also love (besides the very nice remote implementation) is the Mini's external touch screen functionality. I can highly recommend the Gechic T131A (www.gechic.com/en/t131a-touch-monitor/) which works flawlesslywith the Gechic display and even includes the metal T1S1 stand so you can mount the display at a very user friendly 155 degrees: www.gechic.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/03/T131A_Dimension2.jpg

Can you schedule a future youtube stream from the director mini itself?

Injust asked the sipport and they replied „Thank you for reaching out. Unfortunately current version doesn't support this feature. We've relayed this feature request to the product team for their evaluation.“ Regarding on their previous firmware updates where they introduced massive new fratures, O‘d say there is a good chance that they will add thos too. 😁

@MugshotsStreaming-md4qd I would assume you could do this thru re-stream, or recording the love show and uploading it for future release (as is available with youtube). It's possible, just not a function within the DM producer app.

I am in touch with the makers as there are a number of basic features that are not working including starting a stream before the scheduled stream time which every other box has.. I have Mevo, teradek and YOLO. All of them have the function. The director mini is almost there but not the finished product yet

Yes and yes and better now than the yolobox pro but there is one more thing that I would love to see improving is the lower third like VMix style and hopefully the next device will have a combination of HDMI and SDI and even more more powerful.

Great Video @Aaron, And Cool feature added. I updated just yesterday but haven't had time to test all features extensively - but most important feature to me is the bonding - Tested and works great, Full NDI input support - Tested but couldn't see Zoomiso ndi feed on it. And last OSC - Not yet tried. It will be great to do videos on the ZoomISo Support and the OSC support feature

ah sorry for the confusion, the chrome extension only works on a computer since it's a browser extension, but I use a modified version of it that I can access from an ipad or computer at the same time.

The Director Mini is a well-thought-out device. It shows that the developers really thought about its design. But those stingers in Replay... Don't the developers know that they are there to separate the replay recording from the live stream? Letting the recording run until the stinger completely disappears and then switching to live is really not well implemented function.

wow the UI is very well done compared to Yolobox. ability to arrange your own quick settings is very nice. also this event functionality for replay is amazing. would be even better if you could set custom buttons for different “tags” like “goal” or a 1-5 star rating to be able to quickly choose replays or even build a playlist

I would like to see this Mini not sat on a desk with wires neatly tucked away but in more a 'real use' example. For example in a outdoor location (sports event for example) mounted on top of a main camera, with a second camera attached to the tripod for a wide shot, anda radio mic reciever plugged in all being controlled by a presenter standing in front of the main camera using a mobile phone to switch, which is also being used as a third camera. Not using the local network but the internal hotspot. I would like to see how neat the wires and sockets are in use and if the unit is practical in that scenario. Especially if it drops any frames when streaming. Finally a USBC to HDMI output which would run to an external monitor or bigscreen. Sitting neatly on a desk is not really 'real use', surely this example is more how the unit was intended to be used.

Great video and great product. Wondering if it is limited to just one web graphic overlay at a time or, if you could specify multiple URLs and place them in different areas of the screen?

Would the Tiny2 be a better option over the insta360, or is the insta360 an easy set up with similar no lag output?

Just got my director mini and started messing around w/ the replay feature. Seems like there isn't a way to cut directly to one or the other of the two replay feeds. It always starts playing the "replay camera 1" even if you want to have both available and depending on what happened want to cut to replay camera 2 directly. Hopefully something they can fix with a FW/SW update. I think they should just implement where it records 2 separate events, one for each replay camera and then shows them that way (maybe with a R1 and R2 label) in the Event Replay list instead of the doubling up the 2 feeds into a single event. You could then cut to any one of your choosing at any point in time later on.

Is there any update on when they are going to get their ois 14 updates out for the pro series cards? Said it would be out late Fab and its now mid April and I havent seen any more talks of it?

Are the RTMP and NDI outputs' size/framerate/bitrate locked together or can they be set independently? ie. RTMP is high quality stream out and ndi is a low bitrate format

Question: would this work well as an on-camera monitor if I want to live stream from the handheld camera with it on top and switch to other stationary cameras that are being streamed into the director mini? Does it have good battery life & will it have problems with heat?

Seems fine so far mounted on the camera.has a built in fan, little bit of noise if recording onto your cameras internal mic. Also you can then bring in your other cameras. I have had 3 camera via ndi, a drone via rmtp a Canon and Sony all at once with no issues

Would an extrernal screen like a touch screen tablet pc need to be running win 10 or later. Same with older android tablets? Seems like many if the cool new programs require cool new computer$. I have older machines that I would like to use for remote control, but they aren't win 10 compatible (my old macbookpro is stuck on iOS10!). In guessing because its IP cloudbased, it wouldn't matter.

The remote control is just a web page so any browser will work. I'm not sure if the web page might use features that aren't in a super old browser, but that's the only reason it might not work.

Can you limit countries from where viewers can view your stream (like US Only for private streams)

That's up to the streaming platform to handle that, I haven't looked for that particular feature before, but I don't think KZfaq has anything like that.
