Hey Brett, I’m brand new to wanting and understanding an upgraded radio. I’ve watched vids on the 7px which is super nice, I watched ones on the 4px, 4PM, T4pm which stands for telemetry which I don’t really understand what that is and watched a couple vids on this M17. I’m building/upgrading my new Xmaxx and I think it would be neat to be able to do some adjustments if needed and I would like to run accessory lights from the radio if possible. I know there’s lots of things you can adjust. One vid said he thinks the T4PM is more for racing cuz of the settings for nitro etc. I wanna get away from the cheap free radios that traxxas gives with a vehicle. That M17 looks really nice, I just wish you could view the screen vertically like the rest of the brands. It would be nice to have One radio for different rc’s. I wonder why these are only Surface radios? Can they be used for boats to? I’m also wanting some Protek SL hand tools but you guys and other places are Out of Stock. I need all the ones used on Traxxas vehicles in metric I’m told. Thanks
@AMain_Hobbies
@AMain_Hobbies 4 жыл бұрын
Hey Nite Train. The M17 is a really nice transmitter! You can use it with boats too, that isn't an issue. Boats are usually watertight, but Sanwa also has a waterproof receiver or two. For those drivers, this metric set would be the one to get: www.amainhobbies.com/protek-rc-trutorque-sl-metric-hex-driver-set-4-ptk-8416/p863873 The 1.5, 2.0 and 2.5mm are the primary sizes for Traxxas vehicles. Hope this helps man! -Brett

Cool vid Brett! After ‘fondling’ the M17 do you still sway more towards the 7PX? What are the perceivable differences? You mentioned how fast the M17 is on FH5 - do you feel this is a big consideration? Thanks in advance!
@AMain_Hobbies
@AMain_Hobbies 5 жыл бұрын
Yeah, great question TPG. The first thing noticed by the M17 was how light weight it is. The screen orientation is very different between the two and causes you to twist your wrist differently to view the screen; the 7PX feel a little more "in-line" where the M17 you must curl in your wrist. The build quality on both feels excellent as well, although the 7PX Limited Carbon finish is a step above. As for speed or FH5 tech, no, I'm not in a rush to buy all new FH5 receivers. And honestly, I can't tell a difference. I think the transmitters are equally fast, they just have two different styles in achieving it. I speak for only myself, and many people here disagree, but I prefer the 7PX for the feel, fit and finish and the easy to view "in-line" touch screen. It's a piece of art. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions. -Brett

AMain Hobbies - Thanks for taking the time to reply Brett! One other question if I may - do you think Futaba SR servos are required to get the most from the 7PX? (Aside from the awesome specs....). Thanks again!
@AMain_Hobbies
@AMain_Hobbies 5 жыл бұрын
That depends on you and how much you like to tinker, and the premium you're willing to spend on it. Do you want to be able to "tune" your servo from your transmitter? Or better, have you ever had a need for it? -Brett

Good question! I actually just bought a 10PX for myself last week and I'm in love. I've used Airtronics/Sanwa my whole life, it's the only receivers I own, but I finally made the switch. The 10PX is very expensive, and I had some buyer remorse initially, but that went away once I started using it and setting up the first car. My opinion is: The 10PX is the best transmitter money can buy. -Brett

Hi. Great video. I race 1/8 ebuggy and currently use a DX5C transmitter (with no complaints). Spektrum seems to be more of an entry level brand. Should I stay with Specktrum or would I be better off moving over to Futaba or Sanwa? I don't need the best of the best but I'd appreciate any advice you can give. Thanks!
@AMain_Hobbies
@AMain_Hobbies 4 жыл бұрын
Spektrum makes some great transmitters, and we love our DX5 Rugged, but a more robust system could help push you to the next level if you find the right "feel" out of it (think of a musician buying a guitar). Transmitters are precision instruments, so you connecting with it is most important, regardless of the brand. If you do go Sanwa or Futaba, spend a lot of time holding them, feeling their weight, their balance or lopsidiness, get a feeling of the spring tension in the wheel and trigger and use the menus; is it intuitive to you or frustrating? Good luck Franco. Drop us any more questions you have! -Brett

1 more question plz. I have a futaba tx6as transmitter with futaba FP-R127DF dual conversion FM receiver. The pair works perfectly no issues. I also have a airtronics (sanwa) vanguard 6 channel FM transmitter not pcm and 92765/72band FM not pcm receiver. Can the sanwa tx be used with the sanwa vanguard tx? Frequency xtals are the same in both.

Question. I have a sanwa cx2p caliber transmitter fm. I have the sanwa receiver that came with it. Upon power up tx comes on but nothing from receiver or servos. Xtals are correct. Could you tell me which pins are positive and negative respectfully on the receiver. The receiver I have is the small sanwa blue receiver. Is it worth fixing?
