Isaia Gilmore It has already been done with 2.0T and proper AWD and torque vectoring in xDrive and GM Twin Clutch. Even the QX50 is getting 2.0T.

I know that your MDX is equipped with the ZF 9 speeds transmission, do you have any reliability problem with it?

Lloyd Y Benoit I only have 25 thousand miles but I’ve had no issues with the 9 speed automatic transmission at all, I enjoy it especially with the paddle shifters!

Lloyd Y Benoit honestly though I wouldn’t go for the 9 speed ZF. Shift and gear hunting issues. I’d rather have the base 6 speed but... CANT WAIT FOR THE 10 speed

Thinking same...Interior volume is almost same now....mdx always have slightly better build quality than rest of line up....not sure this one is up there

Great great video . I have a true understanding on why my RDX handles so great. This car is truly fantastic , and really does handle like a sports car . I have put it to the test and I’m just blown away how it handles!

I was always under the impression the new RDX is based on the CR-V, just like how the NX is a reskinned Rav4. Good job Honda/Acura.

This is a trure step up from before! SH-AWD is back, turbo is back, and some new cool things are here as well! Can't wait when this will be transferred to MDX and when there will be a Type-S MDX :)

Still have an '09 RDX and glad to see the SH-AWD back. Is the futures A-spec going to have the V6 Turbo option or will this model always have the Vtec Turbo 4? Are any of the drive modes user programmable? For instance with a 10-speed tranny there is a concern about constant shifting and w/o knowing how smooth it feels, it could be annoying. Great video.

If you could tell people in Acura my massage, please tell that new mode dial controller is really ugly, although it’s a personal taste because I don’t how many agreed with me in that. Two or four buttons, or with one more button in the middle, may sound better. Also, for dynamic driving mode selection, wouldn’t be better if computer select after I highlighted for period of time, say 2 seconds, instead of currently instantaneous selection which I think it could tire the system.

mrxyz2k I completely agree with you! I don’t know why they need to dedicate 2/3 of the console for this dial when other mfr accomplish it w a small dial taking of less than one square inch. I’d rather they used the space for extra hard buttons for the stereo, heated steering wheel, or memory functions like BMW. Such a waste of space.

HondaPro could you please ask Honda Engineers how they plan to solve engine carbon build up issues which have afflicted all manufacturers with direct injection turbo engines. Old v-6, 3.5 and 3.0 proved very durable over the long term, hopefully new 2.0 Turbo wont experience any problems.

Thank you for that! I'm looking for a used one. Test drove a base RDX and it got very good performance for the price. I tried the sh-awd on wet and it blown me away. More steering feel would be great because it's already good but a little syntetic from any modes.

They finally are starting to differentiate a model from a Honda. Past vehicles were always too similar in sharing equipment etc.

Eric They can make one change and say it is different. The fact is the CR-V and RDX are assembled in adjacent counties in Ohio. A number of sources say they share a modified platform.

How about Acura and Honda finally builds quiet cabins? For 28 years I’d owned Acura and Honda vehicles until last year. I’d had it with the cabin noise and repairs. Ten gears is a lot of gear climbing. I’d wait and see how this transmission works after a year or two.

I wish Acura use turbo over engine, as some Germany cars, I believe this shortage the way between car engine and turbo, to eliminate turbo gab. But this could need more cooling engine system.

I own a 2007 RDX. I’d be really interested in any information you could share about the difference between the 07 turbo engine and the 19. The biggest complaint with the 1st Gen RDX is the gas consumption and the harsh ride. This video addresses the ride issues, but how will they get better fuel economy than the 07 by going back to a turbo engine? Thanks and keep up the good work.

VaughnKD there is a lot they can do to improve fuel efficiency. First off, your vehicle has a 5speed auto, while this one has a 10speed auto.. smoother lighter transitions, all new drive train with less resistance, different engine management with totally different mapping’s.. they can put the power when you need and and when you don’t. Your vehicle and this vehicle are totally different.. yours is a lot more analog, this one is a lot more refined and advance.

Drive any 2.0T cuv and you'll get a taste of what the 2019 RDX will offer sans Lexus NX 2.0T AWD that only sends 50% to the rear wheels.

I don't know what you get in your '07, but I regularly average 28mpg+ (this is with non-ethanol fuel and K&N filter). Mine has almost 150K miles and still going strong. Unless this thing handles better and gets more than 30mpg, I will not see any point in getting a new one.

mugenman6 Wow. I don’t get anything close to that. 11.7 L/100 km highway (120kph) and 14L/100 in city driving. The turbo always seems to be spinning, even at highway speed. I live in the Canadian prairies, so it’s not like hills are a problem. Premium Shell fuel always... it’s well documented that they were hard on fuel so not a surprise when I bought it. Amazed that you get such gas mileage. Wonder what the difference would be?

The new RDX looks great! The old RDX did not have a heated steering wheel as an option. Does anyone know if the 2019 RDX will have a heated steering wheel? I have looked at all the interior pictures on Acura’s web site and I don’t see any switch to control a heated steering wheel.

It's only available on the advanced package, its location the right side of the steering wheel, more specifically on the right upper corner on that side

40% more power transfer to the rear wheels over the prior CR-V AWD system...or NYDAILY news says 70% to the rear when xDrive and GM Twin Clutch that sends 100% to any wheel.

There is a lot of quality difference Japan and elsewhere...Europe is best next ...even first looks...the perceived quality of materials and finish difference is obvious...Look at Infiniti QX50..and this....though technology is good the craftsmanship and quality is lacking..

Have a 2020 RDX SH-AWD A-Spec for less than two month and absolutely love it. One thing however puzzles me. When you select metric units the speed and distance switch to metric but not the temperature units. Same goes for my 2018 CR-V EX-L. Same issue on Canadian vehicles, everything but temperature can be switched to US standard units. Regardless whether the change of temperature units is possible through the driver interface or not, I would like to know how is it accomplished. If anybody knows - share with me.

For people in Honda could you tell them to add ability to use owner’s iPad or any tablet or even mobile instead of their info media navi screen, with a Honda’s designed app, this could reduce many of car costing. You could see in the KZfaq and others internet sites ideas how to car original info center with tablets.

So if it's more rigid in an accident (struck by another vehicle) all the shock will be absorbed by the humans inside the vehicle (soft tissue) soft tissue injuries will be off the sale in the 2019 RDX? Rigidity may not be a good idea?

Is a panaramic sunroof really that important. I live in California where you can use your your sunroof all year and most of my friends and aquaintences could care less about any sunroof. I’ll keep my 2013 RDX until they offer the car without that sunroof.

Okay I am not here to bash but the adjustable speed sensing steering reminds me of my Baby. See Link below. I know it's better but, I am just saying in 1990 it was around on my Acura. Now for the link below the car is original except the rims have been refinished and the bumpers repainted. There are some nicks and a few minor dents in the doors and body but heck it's 31 years old. No body rush under it. It was undercoated since day one. I had panoramic roof before. I would rather not to have it as well. Moon/sun roof is more than enough to help circulate air. Panoramic roof adds unnecessary weight. Makes the car less rigid.
