WHAT'S THAT FISH? Target species ID for UK, France & Northern Europe Spearfishing

I know how hard it is to try and identify fish from books or photos online where the fish have been dead for hours. When spearfishing we see the fish in their natural environment which can look drastically different to when they are out of the water. I have put together this video to help new and old divers to be able to identify the common target species you will find in the UK and Northern Europe. Don't know a thick lipped mullet from a golden grey? This is the video for you!
Many thanks to the following people for helping with this video:
Michael Byø, the flatfish master
/ @michaelby
Ryan Edwards, the most posh man I have ever met
/ @ryane8881
Joe PK, the Devonian devil

First off would like to thankyou for the amazing vid and the quality of info you pass on through them. I especially appreciated the parts where you add details about expected sizes and age to maturity, small nuggets which help in determining a more selective and intelligent approach to targeting the fish, ensuring better sustainability for the future!! Would love it if you could make a similar one for fish in the Mediterranean

Ho, those afternoons with my grandpa, in the Mediterranean see near Gruissan, fishing 200m from the shore on thin white sand, bringing home a dozen soles and turbots with the shortest and cheapest spear gun available at Decathlon. Stopping on some rocky formations on the way home to get some fresh wild oysters. Those were the good times.

I didn't know until quite recently that a ballan wrasse of 6 to 7 lb is probably about 25 to 30 years old, I use to keep the odd 1 or 2 to roast whole over a driftwood fire on the beach and just pick the meat off the fish and I thought they're very tasty but since finding out about how long it takes b4 they hit breeding age etc I'll be catching and returning in future but that being said if people are taking them for the table and not just for pot bait then that's fine with me as they're certainly not over fished in the UK. Great underwater footage btw, and very informative.
