Vince Blight (Bill Hader) hosts "What's That Name?" where contestants (John Mulaney, Cecily Strong) easily remember the names celebrities, but can't recall the names of people in their lives, like a close friend's girlfriend (Heidi Gardner) and a spouse's bridesmaid (Melissa Villaseñor).

My absolute favourite SNL sketch ever, a masterclass in writing and timing. Every second line turns the scene upside down and there is such a tension throughout. The chemistry between Mulaney and Hader is just unreal. Hader's delivery of every line is hilarious and unsettling at the same time. It never dips for a full 7 minutes. This sketch literally plays in my head when I'm trying to sleep. Thanks Bill Hader :|

This is a perfect example of how to write a skit that doesn't beat a single joke into the ground. The premise is funny, sure, but they keep riffing on the characters and upping the ante with the host's banter. The gameshow is the setting for other jokes -- not just a single joke to be done three times in a row. Props to Mulaney here.

Bill Hader is the master of being hilarious and bone-chillingly terrifying at the same time. He plays these characters who if you met them IRL would be the life of the party, but part of you would also be wondering "could this guy be a serial killer?"
