It's funny to me that you all consider cube ice fancy. I grew up using strictly cube ice because I never had a fridge with an ice maker. So I consider crescent ice fancy!

I'm an occasional milk icer and I've definitely tossed a few cubes into my cereal before. I just love super cold milk. I'll sometimes put a liter in the freezer for a half hour or so before drinking it if I'm planning ahead.

Crushed "flake" ice is heavily underrated in this video. There's something about the little snow patch that crushed ice makes along the ridge of your cup that just gets me. Like for sure it's not as good as nugget ice, but I love it.

@@maruubnd I'm from Scotland, and usually in shops you can only buy bags of ice cubes, we don't have the fridges with ice makers, cos summer only lasts about 2 weeks lol, (maybe posh people have them but they're just not necessary), if I want my drink to be cold, I put it in the fridge for a while, or the freezer, I do own ice cube trays, but I can't remember the last time I used them 😂

The problem with crescent ice is that sometimes, it can melt evenly the whole way around and become more of a cylinder or sharp "stake" of ice and that can be stressful to drink around - I've definitely had one of those suckers go straight down my throat before. Nugget ice is generally superior except in milk. Biiiig cubes for milk. 😋

Best ice is the ice you get on airplanes, the barrel shaped with the hole in the middle. More surface area of the ice gets the liquid colder faster and it's big enough so it doesn't melt away to fast.

@@JoeBoKnows nope, link mistakenly called it barrel ice… sonic ice is solid, there’s no perfect holo center. That ice type is only found on specific soft drink machines. But most people prefer Sonics snowball pellets.

I literally go to Sonic two or three times a week and buy a 10 pound bag of ice and use it for every beverage. I keep a cooler in my car to transport it without melting…I might have an addiction 🤣

I rarely use ice since we goot freezing weather 9 months of the year, but when I do it’s definitely those large spheres. You only need one in the glass and it stays alive forever AND looks nice.

Don't forget the "stones" that you freeze. These eliminate the diluting effects of regular ice in cocktails, etc. Anything you don't want watered down..

How fascinating! I’ve actually never seen/heard of “crescent ice”. Ice Tray is the most common to me but my favorite it the crunchy “nugget” ice.

I only seen these nuggets, crunchy ice at Raising's Cane so my instinct for that is lemonade and tea. For ice makers, I prefer crushed cause i like the smaller size. And of course cube is my default since I can only make that at home.

In any type of glass or proper cup cubed/tray ice is the best. In fast food cups/ styrofoam cups the best is Sonic nugget ice because the cup is insulated and doesn't water the drink so fast.

My grandpa always put ice in his milk ❤️ it makes sense if you drink it quickly so it won’t water the milk down. Also milk is best VERY cold!
