Not only an Interesting but totally bloody AMAZING Ashdown fact for you. My mate and bass player had some buzzing trouble with his Ashdown head. He contacted Ashdown, and they talked through a possible remedy for him to try and cure it. This didn't work, so they told him to send it off to them which he did. They refused to charge him for the work carried out, Ashdown told him they stand by their products. Shortly afterwards the buzzing appeared again. Ashdown again told him to send it back to them. This time a lot of stuff inside had been changed and it now played perfectly. Again Ashdown never charged him for their work, and this was amp my mate bought second hand...no warranty! My mate felt bad he was never charged and how nice the Ashdown camp had been. So he contacted them and insisted that they were owed for their good work and superb customer service. So Ashdown replied "send us a tin of biscuits!" Which he did. That's what you call a great family firm. I'm picking up my first Asdown amp this afternoon. PS: great vid. Keep 'em coming.

I have their Geezer Butler Head of Doom, which Geezer actually uses on smaller gigs, and love everything about it. Originally marketed as putting out 666 watts, 1000max, and has a button and knob labeled 'Doom', and sounds amazing with my Warwick Infinity 5. Gotta love that kind of attitude.

I’ve been playing bass for over 40 years and the two rigs that make me smile the most are the Ampeg SVT and the Ashdown ABM. I chose Ashdown as the ABM range is easily portable for one person, sounds awesome, and being UK based easy to sort if any (unlikely) problems. Additionally Ashdown are a great company to deal with, and offer great customer service.

Wow! Thank you, for this cool video. Being a new learner of playing the bass guitar, i went on a Norwegian internett used stuff shop to day, looking for a cheap priced amp. I found an Ashdown combo witch i bought, knowing nothing about this brand other than being a UK product. I have loved good hi fi gear all my life, and know English hi fi brands to be makers of high end sound. So i took a chance on this amp being English made, it would be a good sounding amp. And now i found this video, and after listening to the story you told us about the Ashdown company, i belive i made a good buy. Thank you, for learning us your knowledge.👍

I have a klystron 500 head and cab that sound amazing! Aparently designed in collaboration with John Entwistle of the Who.

Recently picked up a little bastard and loved it so much I bought a UK made 12 band 600 and I'm hooked! Now I just need to get some of those beautiful cabs.

Still rocking my SWR pre fender buyout rig. Ashdown looks great will look into them.

Since I start playing bass I saw Ashdown as the main "polite" alternative to Ampeg, and it could also get dirt on accasion. In rehearsal spaces I've found their ABM series to be very reliable but my very 1st Ashdown it was actually their five fifteen 10w amp, then I wanted to try the head+cab thing so I bought their little giant 350w head with a MAG410T Deep cab. I then traded an all american parts Fender Jazz bass for their Ashdown Drophead 30 C115H "fliptop" combo and I love the thing. I only wish it was lighter. It's a 11kg (all valve 30W) head paired with a 30,5kg cabinet.

Love Ashdown amps (and have 4 Ashdown heads) but 'fact' #6 is wrong - the SWR Goliath 4x10 with horn cabs were very popular starting in the mid 80's.

The Bass amp my dad had last is my Dream Bass Amp. Comes to find out it was a Ashdown. Sadly I'm unsure of the Model. Although according to a google image search. It might have been a Ashdown MAG C410T-300 Combo Bass Amp

There's a 6x10 cab that I'm seeing on sale right now with the white speakers. Are those lower end ashdown? Does anyone know if that cab is any good? Can't find much about it besides the specs on the ashdown website.

Some of us don't want to buy anything that was made in China; no matter what the price. So one thing that would be helpful is for Ashdown to put a list out that tells us what products are still being made in the U K. I took the time to find an older Ashdown EVOII 500RCEVOII Rackmount Bass Amp Head that was made in the U K. I know that a number of amp heads are still being made in England and those are the only ones that I would buy...so a list of all Ashdown products still made in the U K would be nice. Many of us who don't want to buy products made in China feel this way for political reasons, not necessarily because of quality issues; so a list of what is made where would be helpful!

Not all Ashdown amps are made in UK. I own Ashdown Amps and as an example the "Little Stubby 30" is made in China. Awesome amp

Ashdown are not all sadly made in the UK... they shipped a lot of production to China .. Originally ordred a EVO IV amp head and two 210 cabs only to find out they're now being made in China... so I changed that to their new 12-band 600 head which IS made in the UK that just came out, and found a pair of prior generation 1x12" 750W EVO cabs that were at that time still made in the UK... I really feel with maybe some lower end exceptions, Ashdown owes us 100% UK made products.. especially at their prices.

I've been an Ashdown user for a number of years, and now own two ABM heads, one ABM combo, two MAG combos, 300 and a red top 400, plus a Little Giant as a backup...oh, and all my pedals are Ashdown too. Along 4 x 10 and 8 x 10 bass cabs. I refuse to buy or play through anything else.
