I love his character’s love for showtunes. When he’s working on the puzzle he’s listening to Sweeney Todd… a mischievous song that is sung twice in the musical, the first time it is protective and feels honest, but the reprise is sung to try to trick someone… so that tells me there is definitely someone that he’s trying to trick, either the Police or Misty. And one of Sweeney Todd’s main themes is cannibalism, as with the Yellowjackets, which I find interesting. Can’t wait to see the finale.

I think 100% Sarcusa is the body they are trying to move. I bet he secretly follows Jeff and Callie up to get Shawna, something ensures and Walter intervenes. I think Walter is a generally nice guy that likes Misty. I do like the connection with him and Lottie and maybe this whole time he just wanted to see Misty crack the case. Is there something more sinister though? I kinda hope so.

Melanie Lynskey said in some interview that there was a ton of spoilers in not just S1 but in S1E1 alone that when the show was complete fans would be angry they didn’t see it the first go. If true there could be evidence of Walter in S1 even all the way back to S1E1. 3 more seasons to go as long as they don’t GoT or Westworld it. Fingers crossed

Walter is Lottie’s benefactor. Since he’s rich, he bankrolled the creation of the compound.

Also remember when Misty was on her date how she said she liked strong calves? When walter comes into the nursing home he's wearing shorts and the pause along the back of his legs like Misty is checking them out. Did he do that on purpose? Did he know her turn on? I suggested once that walter may take the ladies away to help them escape.

Great video!! Really enjoyed it. Couple things: -I think the scene on the boat gave valuable insight into Walter for several reasons. 1 - He tells Misty he lives on the boat (will return to that). 2 - He truly enjoys whacking Randy in the face. You can see his enjoyment while doing it and his frustration when Misty tells him to stop. Then he threatens Randy with a band saw. This informs us that Walter is violent and dangerous. 3 - The Moriarity comment. I don't know if you addressed this in another video, but this comment is very telling in how he wants to portray his relationship with Misty. 4 - The name of the boat - Great Expectations. Not sure how this fits, but I am sure it is not an accident. So why was it important that he told Misty that he lives on the houseboat? Because he doesn't, he lives in some awesome huge ass house where he does two puzzles at a time in his jammies while cranking Sweeney Todd. So he did not tell Misty the truth, he is selectively feeding her information. I love the dynamic between Misty and Walter, it gave much needed levity to this season and you can feel the attraction between the two characters. However, as you note in your video, Walter is most likely a serial killer as well. I have no idea what his game is, but I know he is up to one and as much as he may help Misty where he can, there may be an ultimate showdown where he presents a danger to Misty or the other Yellowjackets and she will have to make a choice.

On your Walter & Lottie theory, maybe hes her original "therapist". Perhaps that is why she asks in her first session with her "new" therapist, where's her other doctor?

The Only thing about Walter that makes me wonder is the Sherlock/Moriarty remark where he places himself as Moriarty, the "bad" guy in the scenario, he may as well of said he was a bored Joker looking for his Batman, ( remember, Misty is not a "good" guy like Sherlock or Batman, as she is a serial killer tbh.) Walter basically told her he was cool with her "extracurricular activities" I think he just grabbed a jacket that he had that was purple and probably appropriated some more gear before we see him and jeff in the traser. I do not think he is working for/with lottie. It wouldn't make sense with what we know about Lottie and what she is going through with the visions etc. I also doubt he is a cop or FBI as he would Never have Hit Randy or half the stuff he has gotten up to with Misty. He's probably gonna be shown to be similar to Adam, a good guy who got too close to whatever is going on with these clearly Deranged women and might just die because of it. Im actually thinking the Wilderness is gonna Choose Walter. Shoot he could go down for all of it, where Adam is concerned.

WRONG. Walter is IMPERSONATING a member of the cult so he can coerce Jeff into confessing the crime. Walter really loves Misty and wants to help. There’s no reason to think there’s any connection to Lottie. Maybe he’s the recipient of the bone marrow, but Walter lacks any normal emotion or empathy or sadness or revenge about Adam. Walter is who he says he is. They are setting him up to be another perfect friend for Misty, like Kristen, but it will blow up somehow.

They really focus in on his crew socks and hiking boots all the time... Makes me wonder about his connection to the "wilderness" with that hiking theme!

I don’t think he has a secret agenda. In two truths and a lie he tells the truth all 3 times. Perhaps the writers way to tell us he’s legit. I think he really is a bored millionaire who is attracted to misty.

I think that Walter is exactly who he says he is, I don't think there's any special secret or surprise to come from him other than he really admires Misty as African grey and likes her so much that he's willing to help her and keep her safe.

people were mentioning how there was a Reddit theory in the show about a serial killer, and people thought it was about Misty but maybe it’s actually Walter 👀 also somebody has a theory that Walter is a relative of one of the other yellowjackets like Melissa or something and I could kind of see that. I do kind of like the idea Walter is from the cult and he was like Lottie’s helper; I wonder why he would leave, though, cause he obviously has a house and the other people seem content giving up their possessions and leaving everything.

And your theory about who Walter is, I'm wondering if his story has absolutely nothing to do with their past and this is something else like a side plot that has really nothing to do with the main plot of cannibalism and survival I can't remember what movie it was but in the 1990s at Blockbuster I remember seeing a movie on a shelf about a serial killer who got upset because another serial killer was taking credit for his kills by dumping his bodies where the first guy was so it was like a killer versus killer movie What if Adam's death was on his turf? Serial killers are prone to territory Just look up the bone dust killers that plateau that has a bunch of dead bodies in it in New Mexico I think basically serial killers are territorial so this could be a completely unrelated to their past storyline and I got that from what you said Maybe he did work for Lottie or maybe he was prepared but here's the thing that community seems to know each other if they bump into him wouldn't they know he's a fraud unless Lottie has like another location in the world

I would love if Walter and lottie had met getting a psych assessment or in that type of building. If they are working together. Cause he mentioned about suing that company cause his metal plate. She also had a type of head experiment done to her. That's my theory

It’s a shame you didn’t pick up on or at least point out the Sweeney Todd song playing in the background when he realizes Misty might be in hot water. I really think that might lead into their fate…or it might just reference what happens between Misty, Natalie and Lisa in the final episode

When you said that he has a boat that he could escape on it reminds me of this guy who killed a mother her daughter and their daughter's friend that were on vacation by inviting them on his boat and he tied each one to cinder blocks after he messed with them and would throw them overboard I forgot the name of the court case but it's interesting that he could be based on that crime murder

I find it ironic that the hero of the good son plays some wacky ass characters that are sometimes villainous and or nuts

He’s literally a direct reflection of misty, the showtunes last episode should have told you all you needed to know, he does actually like Misty.

Lottie didn’t seem to be anticipating Misty. I feel the only way this works if he is an ex member who somehow felt they needed to be back together and did it on his own. There would also need to be some kind of flashbacks to show him facilitating things with the others, because of it was his goal only focusing on Misty doesn’t track. I think it’s much more likely he had a purple coat and thought it would help infiltrate the compound.

My prediction is season 3, Walter is going to take them back to the wilderness. Where it will be waiting.

I definitely think Walter is not against Misty. But the purple Jacket in his closet looks like a women's to me. Lotti never wears purple. So I feel as though maybe one of his family members was in her cult and something bad happened to them. I feel as though he is a sociopath if not maybe a serial killer himself. Which might be why he is drawn to Misty. But I think his real reason for going to her cult is to Revenge whatever happened to the person whose purple coat that was. Unless it was Misty's that was left in his car. But honestly I'm not the kind of person that can pick out a little things like that. So I have no idea

If your theory is true, maybe he was the one who caused the death of Travis and made it look like it was the wilderness that took him to Lottie.

I don't think Lottie has anything to do with Walter. I don't think she is sneaky that way. She seems just as surprised by them all being drawn together as anyone else. Lottie doesn't seem evil and I don't think she has a master plan. I doubt Walter has anything to do with the cult, but who knows. I think he is picking the purple coat to blend in as he goes up to there to see Misty. I hope he really likes her. Misty deserves a break. It was never really explained how/why the cult was watching Nat. And Lisa did seem worried about disappointing Lottie with the wrong drink. So maybe something is up with Lottie. This show is crazy.

And I first thought Walter was all in her head. By the way I don't think that the fact his boat is named great expectations is a fluke. You would think somebody who loves show tunes as much as him would name his boat after a musical not a novel that was written by a man who wrote some pretty interesting books

Nobody's spoken about his cassette collection of musicals. You rarely see someone with libraries of music stored like that anymore, let alone are driving a car with the cassette player still installed in the dashboard. It could be in keeping with the 90s vibe, just like Van's ownership of a VHS rental shop, but I just found it odd that he wouldn't have a more modern car or digital playlist of his favorite songs, especially given how he's supposedly so rich. He lives in a luxury house and spends money on boats and chasing leads in cold cases, but he doesn't drive a car model from this century? If there's something more sinister to Walter's motives he hides it well because he has such a quirky and sincere personality.

But remember everything about him so far has been a fabrication and then he tells the truth so we think His pattern is he tells a few lies gets in admits the truth and before they can get angry he's already a part of whatever Misty is really doing

What if Walter taking Misty's virginity counts as blood spilled If you know what I mean. And I am going to call it Misty is still a virgin.
