i think your opponent is kinda underrated. He made some very good comments about the position and even found moves that werent on the radar of the National Master.

The difference I saw: opening knowledge, confidence, and the speed/number of lines they could calculate. I think Phambu had some chances to counterattack after the rook blunder but he was fixated on defending himself.

Counter attack is the move to go to first apparently, then comes defence ( when being attacked) Defence comes when attack is being built up, not during attack, apparently.

Loads of people are saying you were too negative. I don’t agree, your humility made you play solidly, and for me it is such a likeable trait. You had Nelson’s down so much material and in trouble. I will be watching your channel! You analyse and articulate it brilliantly. I am guessing despite the loss it is one of your favourite games?! You put on a Rocky like performance.🍻 well done

Amazing game! Another lesson in how being down material can be overcome by superior endgame understanding and play. This situation happens to me all the time. Middlegame blunder, then endgame win. This is a great series, please keep it going!

I think something that would help his game a lot is countering attacks with attacks. He let Nelson keep him on the defensive the entire game and he had quite a few good pressuring moves throughout.

Nelson, thanks for all your content, and just some feedback on this series. I think it's really good, and I encourage you to continue it. It is really nice to see how others at lower levels think. When titled players play/talk, it's obvious to "the rest of us" that we're not at that level - but that makes it hard to calibrate where our own thinking falls on the spectrum. Some titled players at speedruns try to match their play/reasoning to the level of the opponent, and that's valuable, but still kind of fake - having full clarity over a position and pretending not to see things that you do in fact see is different from being in "the fog" of lower level thinking. The unique value-add of this series compared to many other excellent streamers I also watch (Rosen, Rozman, Naroditsky) is that we get to see both the thinking/reasoning of the the titled player and the lower level player. Excellent concept. I vote for a full speedrun this way. Keep it up, and glad you're healthy.

I like this series, but I'm not too fond of the sneak peek you show at the beginning of the video. It kinda "spoils" at lot of the game in the sense that I know it'll eventually reach the position shown in the sneak peek. And after I know you blundered, it kinda wants me to watch it less. Idk how to make it better though. Maybe I'll try to skip the sneak peeks in the future.

I think the point of this series tho is to show the difference between the lower and higher rated. Plus most of us are 1600 and under so we can see where we lack. I think 2000 and 2200 is too close together that we might not learn as much. Still would be entertaining but we could just watch his older videos if we wanted to learn how a 2000 thinks
