We start by explaining the basics of RO and UV purification systems. The RO purification process involves forcing water through a semi-permeable membrane, which eliminates impurities and contaminants1. On the other hand, UV purification uses UVC rays with germicidal qualities to kill illness-causing bacteria and viruses1.
A key difference between the two systems is that while UV kills microorganisms, their dead bodies still float in the water. In contrast, the RO system filters out these floating bodies12.
