if jesus died for their sin then why some people still go to hell by the bible? god gave numerous proofs but people choose to believe other people instead of god.god sent the first prophets to israel and they changed the torah then sent jesus pbuh and they made him a god even if the bible itself denies it if The bible is a witness on its own changing by humans. jesus is not God by the bible itself- God is capable of everything right? lets assume he split himslef to three than jesus who is himslef God in flesh calls God my God Matthew 27:46 and worships God in Matthew 26:39 and even if you say that nonsense of even if jesus is God he dont make himslef equal to the father then the bible says God is not a man Numbers 23:19 and that jesus is a man 1 Timothy 2:5. Then He lifted Himself to heaven when it was smoke(reffering to primordial smoke) and said to it and to the earth, "Come willingly, or unwillingly!" They said, "We come willingly." So he means seven skies inside the earth and each has its commandment plus god answers the question did he make the earth in six days:no because in the first 2 days there were no sky so no night and morning(a day) so god means a period using the word day. 3.the pharoh didnt die in the sea with moses pbuh watching just look for ramses 2 body its pharaoh body that stayed the same like weirdly the same as god stated So today We shall deliver thee with thy body, that thou mayest be a sign to those after thee. @@livingwater7580 lol ok. first of all whats your proofs i gave you mine that he is scientifically sent from God. the quran is all truth word by word with no one single mistake i dare you to find one(a real one not lies or misquoting or mistranselations from arabic) allah means arabic and in jesus language aramaic its the same word Ĕlāhā, or Alaha and pronouced the same. plus by two verse it shows even if there were a moon god as you say who is named allah which is logical because allah means God in arabic God showed he mean God the one who made the earth in 6 days split the sea,sent jesus and they made a God out of him... He said, "Do you worship that which you [yourselves] carve, even though God created both you and that which you have made?"-the quran 37.95. When he said to his father and his people, "What do you worship?" They said, "We worship idols and remain to them devoted." ... Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,-quran 26.77 Do they (the pagans) consider things that do not create anything but are themselves created equal to God?-the quran 7 verse 191. (Muslims), say, "We believe in God and what He has revealed to us and to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, and their descendants, and what was revealed to Moses, Jesus, and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction among them and to God we have submitted ourselves."-the quran. I BELIVEVE IN THE BIBLE AND JESUS BECAUSE I HAVE THE PROOF THE MIRACELOUS QURAN AND AT LEAST I KNOW WHAT WAS ADDED BY HUMANS AND WHAT WAS NOT. FINALLY I WOULD LIKE TO QUOTE THE BIBLE ONLY GOD IS NOT A MAN.Numbers 23:19 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,1 Timothy 2:5. and jesus calling GOD MY GOD AND THEN WORSHIPING HIM IN JHON 18.6 Those who say that Jesus, the son of Mary, is God, have, in fact, turned to disbelief. Jesus said to the Israelites, "Worship God, my Lord and yours. God will deprive anyone who considers anything equal to God of Paradise and his dwelling will be fire. The unjust people have no helpers."-THE GREAT QURAN.

I was a lifelong of agnostic that slowly came to Eastern orthodox christianity My mom is ethnically Jewish but was a practicing non denominational list which never really sold me. I had to go and intellectually stump on the faith and then and do some serious both the research and soul searching. I never quite had I found Jesus moment. For me it was a longing and a struggle and finding a home and still dealing with my failures but know I have the family in the church And saints to support me in my trying to become close to the Lord. But I honestly when I went to a Eastern orthodox service the matins on Christmas Eve day I never cried so hard in my life being able to hear the divine liturgy in its beauty in English.

Wow. How true. I was baptized in the First Christian Church and soon learn that the Church of Christ and the First Christian Church were once one, but split over a disagreement about whether or not there should be music in church. Being young and often speaking before I thought, I pretty much said but that was a pretty stupid reason to split a church. The pastor seemed very offended and told me that, "Nevertheless, that was the truth!" So, it seems obvious that people can emphasize a difference to the exclusion of all commonalities. That is people. That is not God. Imperfect, fallen, indeed. Perhaps there is a deeper meaning to God referring to us as children.

i was confused about this as well before until i realized from reading the bible and searching that no denomination can actually save me. only JESUS CHRIST can save me. when people ask me what my religion is, i usually say that i do not have one but i do follow and love JESUS CHRIST as my messiah so i can identify as a christian(a person who follows and loves CHRIST) . i follow the teachings of GOD in the bible and i do not identify in any denomination. regarding where i go to church, i go to a Baptist church but i was clear when i talked to the pastor there that the baptist denomination cannot save people and that only JESUS can save people, and luckily we both had the same way of thinking. denominations cannot save people, only JESUS can for by his blood i am reconciled with the heavenly FATHER.

This is true but don't forget that there are also scores of denomations and secs in Islam, and hinduism, and many other religions. The difference between them all is Truth. Which is why it's important for us as individual followers of Christ to not take man for there word , but to go back and search the scriptures individually to know truth through the help of the holy spirit of God

I understand this is very painful to see we have so many division of churches but same body? I look into this hopefully this may help you love is the greatest commandment also if anyone that is with us is not against us. Same body of Christ different areas of the body in Christ now if we can come together as one and not fight argue which is the truth we have the truth we have the lord with us. Everyone may not agree with me I’m here to bring peace and share the love of God father son and HolySpirit. We might have different views and teaching or interpretation of the scriptures, but if we can all agree we love our god and believe heJesus) died for us and forgiveness of our sins but we must forgive others as well to god in the flesh be born again baptism water spirit receive the Holyspirit we repent turn away from sining and follow hi(God Jesus Holyspirit) I believe brothers and sister I encourage you to pray and stay in the word of god love and live through him(Jesus God) commandments

it’s not different religions but instead different interpretations and beliefs about the same religion for example the catholics have a lot more focus on doing good deeds then just getting saved while protestants are the opposite and in the protestant church you have differences like how pensocotal focus on the holy spirt and speaking in tongues and baptist are more focused on just generally being free of sin and having a relationship with god

@Scout First, it’s awesome that you have decided to follow Jesus 😊. Welcome, friend!!! The most important thing to know is that the Bible is right. Every denominational teaching should be examined against the scriptures. When Christianity first began on the day of Pentecost, the men gathered asked the Apostles a simple question: What shall we do? Peter gave them a simple answer: Repent and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission (removal) of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Now, I’m Acts 2:1, Acts 10 and Acts 19 we see repeatedly that the Holy Ghost came with a sign of tongues. Jesus also in Mark 16:16-17 said one of the signs that would follow believers was to speak in tongues. It’s a heavenly prayer language that is available to every believer. Now, Paul said in his letter to gentile believers not to believe any other Gospel than what was preached back then. So, we know that this is the doctrine we should continue to follow today, okay dear one? The Lord loves you and knows your heart for Him. Be baptized (it can be anywhere, even a beach or public pool or tub). It MUST be in the Name of Jesus. Remember, Colossians 3 tells us that In Jesus dwelt all the fullness of the Godhead bodily so His Name is the Name of the titles that are Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Jesus has many titles, but one Name. And when you surrender to Him in prayer, you will be filled to overflowing with His Spirit and speak in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance

Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Jesus has many many millions upon millions of followers scattered all over this Earth, from many different backgrounds and denominations, if you can't handle this simple truth and you're telling yourself that only your denomination is the true church and only your members are children of God oh, that's a heck of a plank you have in your eye!! Jesus simply asks us to share the good news of the Gospel, not discourage and divide fellow Christians by self-righteously accusing them of being unGodly, you don't have to scroll down very far on this or other Christian videos find very hateful unchristian comments attacking each other, and yes I have certainly been guilty of this in the past I can testify that it only leads to guilt and shame, instead let us love and encourage our neighbor! As someone who has experienced some of these things first hand (speaking in tongues, divine healing, etc,) it is a powerful experience. Many people say it's emotionalism or anti-biblical, but it is absolutely real and genuine. I don't believe it was exclusively for the early church, as Acts 2:39 says "For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call."

Also, as a church body we cannot disagree on core essential salvational issues like the gospel: Jesus dying on the cross, how we are saved, Christs resurrection, God beinga triune God (3in1) etc. BUT we CAN disagree on secondary issues and still be saved. He’s going to show you how much you guys have been arguing over things that you can’t prove and not paying attention to the general concepts of the Bible! Honestly, what I did was start looking at church statement's of beliefs and their sermons (almost all of them post their sermons online, even our tiny church!) and attended a few. I thought I wanted a "non-denominational" but ended up in a Baptist church ( I was hesitant at first) - these people are so wonderful at my church. As long as Scripture is truthfully taught in the church and the Spirit is present, you'll be blessed (and hopefully God will use you to bless others!) -- the minor differences are just that -- minor. I mean -- we have some extremely smart elders in our church (we're currently looking for a pastor) and even the elders have disagreements on some minor things (and will preach them) but it's always done in love, and it's about the non-essentials. On the essentials (salvation by grace, through faith, in the one and only name of our redeemer, Jesus Christ, who is God incarnate) everyone agrees. We all strive to understand the Bible as clearly as possible, knowing that there are disagreements on some things (for instance the rapture, timing of the 2nd coming, etc.) It's all good and gives us stuff to lovingly debate, while worshipping God as truthfully as possible from Scripture on the things He's very clear about!

I'm sure everything couldn't be covered in this short video, but a decent overview of the differences in denominations. We just need to be careful that our differences don't stem from an attitude found in 1 Corinthians 1:11-12. Some differences are so stark that it limits fellowship, and at the end of the day, someone has it wrong (in terms of some doctrinal differences). We definitely need to be in agreement on the essentials, but we need to prayerfully study the differences on secondary matters and put away our pride. Psalm 119:89 says, "For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven." In eternity, there will be no divisions or denominations; it would be wonderful if believers could get that settled here.
@2timothy23
@2timothy23 3 жыл бұрын
@R Treadwell True faith is in Jesus Christ and following the doctrines in scriptures. Notice in Acts 2:41-44 the three thousand that were saved continued in the apostles' doctrine and had fellowship. The key is studying your Bible, understanding it, and applying it, all for the glory of God. But since there are many doctrines to understand (the Bible is infinite in content), no denomination is perfect. Everyone has something wrong. In fact, we wouldn't have the New Testament epistles if every church was doing the right thing because most of those epistles are directed towards churches that were misunderstanding certain doctrines (like we do today). If they misunderstood doctrines then, we're going to misunderstand doctrines now. If a denomination is teaching that you're saved by grace through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), that are preaching the Word of God (2 Timothy 4:2), that are equipping the saints in sound doctrine for ministry/growth (Ephesians 4:11-16), and sending brethren out to proclaim the gospel (Romans 10:14-17), then it is a good starting point. You won't know how accurate a particular church is until you have sat under their preaching, checked their core set of beliefs (usually a statement of faith), and searched/study the scriptures yourself to see if it is true (the way Acts 17:11 and 2 Timothy 2:15 shows). Denominations tend to think they are completely right about everything, but that is not true, but feel comfortable going to any church that has the essentials correct. We can't judge our faith on denominations, but how much that particular denominational church follows the scriptures. And that can't be done quickly because it takes time and discernment to know if that church is basically following doctrines or not. I know that is a quick answer, but there are so many dynamics to the question that a quick answer can only get you started. But it would be better to go into some of this then just naming a denomination and saying they have the true faith over another denomination; that would not be helpful at all.

It's not complicated and the different denominations do not differ on salvation, or what would be termed "the essentials". He says as much in this video. The different denominations largely come from disagreement on governance and liturgy. They do not differ that your salvation is found in repenting of your sins and believing in Christ crucified. The only real split, as he once again addressed in the video, is between liberal theology and traditional theology. So you should ask yourself, does God's word need to be subjected to human reason? Or does human reason need to be subjected to God's word? Salvation by grace: Do you accept that you are not a good person? Do you accept that your ways are evil? Do you accept that without God and the work Jesus did on the cross, that you are a child of wrath destined for hell? Salvation through Christ alone: Do you believe that the blood of Jesus was enough to cover your sins-past, present, and future? Do you believe that salvation is found in no one else and that no one can come to the Father except through Christ? The resurrection: Do you believe that Jesus Christ was resurrected? Do you believe that his resurrection is the promise and proof that he was who he said he was and that we too shall be resurrected in his name? The deity of Christ: Do you believe that in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God... and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth? (John 1:1,14) Monotheism: Do you believe that there is only one God, and that this God is the king eternal of the universe? That you shall not have any other gods before Him? The Trinity: Do you accept that God is a three-in-one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and that while they are distinct persons, and serve different roles, they are the same God? The Gospel: (1 Corinthians 15:3-4) For I have brought to you as of first importance, what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, the he was buried, that he was raised on the third day, in accordance with the scriptures. Be wary of a false gospel (Galatians 1:8-9) If all these questions are a yes, then just pick a church that believes, preaches, and teaches these things and you'll be good. Find a place that challenges you, where you experience growth, and a place where you feel the presence of God. Stay away from a church who's sermons are motivational speeches, never convict you of your sins, and never call for repentence and acceptance of Christ. Doesn't matter what the denomination is

Very informative.. I've suspected I grew up a Baptist and confirmed it with a survey that asked 21 questions about my views on YESHUA, faith, scripture and salvation. My best friend is Presbyterian and his church appears to run like a military with ranks, roles and a chain of command.. but outside of church we are undistinguishable. This is a no brainer , the reason there are countless denominations or separate group of Christians is because people have a mind of their own. Even if it goes against Gods plan. Jesus gave one Church and one Shepard to lead his Church, people have free choice and decided different.

Good video, but there are a couple more distinctions that would help explain the different Protestant denominations: First, the distinction between Calvinist and Arminian Soteriology. Second, how services are conducted under the Normative and Regulative Principles of Worship: formal liturgy, traditional hymns, contemporary praise bands, etc., and how the Principles' hermeneutic extends to use of images in churches. Third, the major Eucharistic theologies: Memorialism, Spiritual Presence, Sacramental Union, Consubstantiation, Transubstantiation, etc. Fourth, the Eschatological positions: Historical Premillennialism, Dispensational Premillennialism, Postmillennialism, and Amillennialism. Finally, and most importantly, the sufficiency of Scripture: to what extent does a denomination adhere to a commitment to Sola Scriptura, and what that commitment looks like when contrasted against "tradition." Are Scripture and Tradition equal (Catholicism)? Is Reason a third element to the equation (Anglicanism)? Is Scripture part of Tradition (Eastern Orthodoxy)? If Scripture is the only infallible authority, to what degree does a particular tradition dominate exegesis? Should the church's own historical interpretations be trusted over the study of present-day believers? Additionally, it may be worthwhile to point out "churches" that present as Christian but fall outside the orthodox definition: Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists, etc.

The fact is: Christianity is not a religion! It is a relationship!! It has nothing to do with rituals of any kind! That is the liberty that a born again believer has in Christ. If one is truly "born again" he understands why so much confusion! It is simply because the focus is on "what I can do" rather than "what Jesus Christ has already done". He died on the Cross for anyone who will humble accept His sacrifice as payment for sin! That fact changes everything,! Anyone today "whosoever will" shall be saved! True worship is not in a building made with hands; it is in Spirit and Truth! The Holy Spirit and the Truth of God's Holy Word! God will not bless our human efforts to please Him. He is pleased because we honor Him for what He has done; and then He works through us in the form of the Holy Spirit! I just have to say, "God is not the author of confusion'! If confusion exist, it is because, we are listening to a wrong voice! He Spirit brings peace; of mind and body!

Just read the bible asking for guidance from our Lord to show you the truth. Really really pray about it, trust me, prayer works. When you do read the bible, don't trust yourself at all! if you get stuck in a verse, look for answers online in what that scripture really means, I advise you to at least have 2-3 references. Young man, religion is useless if you come out of the church the same person as you were before you came in. Religion doesn't save nor change you, Jesus can, I've experienced it first hand when I got to learn about grace (that it's a free gift, and I don't have to work my way to receive it but by putting my faith in Jesus' death on the cross). I'm an ex-catholic, never did anything to my faith. Also, be careful of calvinism and lorship salvation, a lot of people I know that have already come out of the false teachings they teach, trust me, you don't want to get involved in those. In the bible it says the truth will set you free. If you do decide to be part of a religion ask yourself that question (are you free?) and also pay attention to the people around your church if they're christlike. Knowing/following the correct gospel of salvation is more crucial to know than following the practices of some religion. The truth exists! it answers almost everything there is to know about life. Each one's own spiritual walk is different, but I suggest you do yours with prayer so God can direct you to the correct path. Love

@R Treadwell Scribes, prophets, editors, apostles, etc. wrote the Bible throughout history, by different authors in different places and time. You can also say that it was written by God through men. If you are doubting the existence of God and want evidence, the existence of Jews and map in the Bible is your evidence. If you want historical evidence, there is a book called the book of Acts in the Bible where Jesus' disciples and followers went to different places to spread the gospel.

Look up the true history of Martin Luther here on YT, it will alarm you. All 40,006 protestant denominations use some version of Luther's "bible." One of the points made to me by a Catholic teacher was Protestantism is egocentric, not Deocentric. The protestant says "God, I want a relationship with you, and here are MY conditions." Ex: if a greek speaker began to speak in arabic without knowing arabic. Tongues is not an "angelic language." The sign and tongue gifts stopped at the end of the apostolic age as described in Hebrews 1:1-2. For argument sake let's say that the jibberish coming out a mans mouth is him speaking in tongues, and another man is there and interprets what he is saying, then if what he is saying is from God, then he is speaking new revelation from God and it has the exact same weight and authority of the written word of God, the Bible. The Bible is a closed canon of scripture, period. No new revelation will be given to man as Hebrews 1:1-2 says, and God has given us His word, the bible, to guide us until His return. God's word is completely inspired, inerrant, infallible, and sufficient.

Thank you for this explanation about denominationalism. Most argument that I read claim that "Denominationalism is Division." However, their weakness in that kind of argument never tell which kind of "division" that they mean. From most Protestant's literature, I read that division is actually in refer to organizational disunity, not fundamental Protestant creed. Anyway, thank you for this explanation.

Protestants are all unified in the one cause.. of "Protesting" the Catholic Church. They constantly divide like children who have runaway and are left to raise themselves. Without the knowledge, wisdom and authority of the Catholic Church they will continue to divide themselves based on their own personal whims and interpretation of the Holy Scriptures, Scriptures made possible by the Catholic Church. Simply Google where the Bible came from and you can see. Martin Luther and subsequent Protestant leaders have been twisting the Bible for their own purposes for hundreds of years; of course that would result in fractions.

Different denominations can be broke down into 2 main categories. Saved by works. (catholic and off shoots of it). Saved By Grace. (baptist, assembly of God, ect). problem you run into now is that they both have watered down things so much that it has become a "g"od of love. Instead a "G"od who loves us enough to send Christ to die on the Cross to save us. Expecting us to REPENT and turn from our sins He forgives us of. Now they do not want to offend people so they say their god accepts everyone and do not bring up anything about changing your sinful lifestyles.

He seems to imply that the majority of Christians prior to the 19th century were cessationists, but that's’ only true in regard to Tongues. In fact, cessationism was part of the liberal theological constructs he talked about later.

All it is are quotations from the first 300 years arranged topically. So you can see the original perspective on these things as well as the record of it all continuously happening. #2 is a book called "They Speak with Other Tongues", which started as an investigation into speaking in tongues by one of the writers at Guideposts Magazine. The book is an easy read but does a good job tracing these things historically throughout various movements in church history. Blessings.

I have a question! I'm not sure if it's already been addressed or not, but, here it is: Should the books of The Apocrypha be taken as true or authoritative at all, even if only from a historical and literary standpoint (in what ways, if any, are they authoritative)? What is the most accurate mindset to have if/when reading the books of The Apocrypha, and how do we bridge that gap with churches who do consider them canon, like The Eastern Orthodox, Catholic, and Coptic churches, and others who also have apostolic roots?

Christ and the apostles used the Septuagint (LXX) which included the deuterocanonical books. Two thirds of the OT quotes in the NT are from the Septuagint. Here is an example where the Greek gospels present Jesus as quoting the Septuagint: In Mark 7:6-7, Jesus quotes the Septuagint of Isaiah 29:13 when he says, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’” Christ never stated in Scripture that these books aren't the Word and should be avoided. If the deuterocanonical books are good enough for Him, who am I to disagree with Him? That's enough evidence of inspiration for me.

I would argue that the idea that the Bible has no errors is preposterous. The authority which chose which books were included in the Bible was a worldly authority, not a Godly one. Render unto Caesar, that which is Caesar's, and render unto God that which is God's. If you render unto Caesar, that which is God's, you are making a grave error. I think this is idea is a reaction to the problem that many denominations have no claim to priesthood authority or revelation. The Pharisees in Jesus day preferred dead prophets to living ones. They wanted to use the words in books of Moses to reject Jesus. I'm guessing the claim that the bible is perfect has the same spirit. It is a rejection for the need for continuing revelation or prophets. Pastors or church leaders of various sects prefer to only listen to dead prophets whose words are subject to their own interpretation. It is much more demanding to get the answers from God than to affirm guesses that suit one's own biases. I do not reject the Bible at all. However, the idea that it is perfect does not stand to reason or history at all. The Bible is of Great value. However there are ample examples of new translations that change meaning. You think translation errors alone would not introduce mistakes in understanding or doctrine? I do not believe God would remove our free agency to protect us from the consequences of choices that left translation errors where they are. Translation mistakes happen now and I believe they clearly happened in the past. It is hubris of man that claims that thru our limited intellect or perspective we can be sure of the true meaning when there is a lack of clarity or contradiction in interpretation. You need clarification from on high.
@luise9505

Oh brother you are so wrong in your pov. First of all the doctrine of inerrancy does not include translations, believers claim that the original were inspired by God, second the Bible must be interpreted according to the type of text you are considering, remember the Bible is a collection of books, in which you can find epistles (letters), poems, narratives, you should consider the text if it is poetry, narrative, chronicle, letter, etc because they serve different purposes. They Bible shouldn't be interpreted literally but rather in its historical and cultural context, if you ignore that you could take for yourself commandments that were meant for an specific group of people. Other thing is that most of the narrative are from a human perspective, the idea of scripture written 3500 years ago wasn't to teach people physics but rather to make aware people of their moral problem, that God wasn't indifferent about their sins but also that he provided an atonement for those who recognised their faults and sought His justice. Lastly if you believe in an Almighty Good God the least (in my opinion) you should think is that His Word has no errors and serve its purpose, you shouldn't neither dismiss the work that He has done for millennials through thousands of men that he has used as teachers and have interpreted some of the difficult passages that we encounter in Scripture. Don't be wise in your own eyes and receive instruction from others. God bless you brother.

If you love God and man you have fulfilled all the law. The new covenant law of love surpasses the Ten Commandments. Love says to look at a woman with lust in your heart is adultery, to think evil of a brother is murder, to tell the truth always oath not required. If you are trying to gain righteousness by following the mosaic law you have fallen from grace. I should have worded it differently but love for one another is the only point that the countless denominations could unify around. If people only go to heaven based on only what You or I believe, there won’t be very many in heaven. Unity will only be through God’s people exercising God’s love to one another.

@@fredc61 How is Faith in Jesus Christ demonstrated? By Obeying Jesus Christ. That is your Eternal Salvation without it you will perish. And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him; Hebrews 5:9. Many say they have Faith in Jesus Christ. But Faith without works is dead. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? 22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? James 2:20-22 Many say they Love Jesus Christ. But Jesus Christ says if you Love me you will keep my commandments. If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15 The works that the Pope and his Catholic Religion had folks doing was dead works. Doing Penance and all that nonsense is not the works of faith. So when the reformers had enough they crossed out in their doctrine anything that even sounds like works and made salvation completely, "Faith in Jesus Christ Alone" Going from one extreme to the other. None of it is Sound Doctrine. 1. We are ordained (ordered) unto Good Works - Ephesians 2:10 2. We work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.- Philippians 2:12 3. Jesus Christ said, [ In John 9:4 ] I must work the works of him that sent me while it is day, night cometh and no man can work. (Do whatever your hands find to do and do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus while you are in the land of the living - Colossians 3:17 Because once you die, you can't do nothing but wait for judgement). - Hebrews 9:27 4. Everybody that wants salvation from the Bible days until today ask the same question: "Men and brethren what shall we do?" Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.- Acts 2:38 A. The men knew they had to do something not just sit around and say, "I have faith", "I believe in Jesus Christ", "I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour." What?! That ain't salvation. They put their Faith to work. B. They were baptized about 3,000 in all, so they had faith in the Words of the Preacher, then their faith was demonstration in action (works) resulting in Obedience to God. - Acts 2:41 The same with the Philippian Jailor. "Sirs, what must I DO to be saved?" And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. - Acts 16:30, 31 Question? How do we know the Philippian Jailor and his house believed. (Had Faith in Jesus). They were Baptized. He and all his (His House). And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway. Acts 16:33 Faith with works makes faith perfect. Jesus Christ said, "Be ye therefore perfect as your father in heaven is perfect. - Matthew 5:48 That's how you do it faith with works makes faith perfect. - James 2:22 Look at the most misused Scripture by the New Age Theologians. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 Yet, you cannot BE SAVED until you GET SAVED. Did the folks being addressed in Romans 10:9 get saved already? Yes. How do we know? The Apostle Paul was talking to the saints in Rome in his letter in Romans 10:9 How do we know? Romans 1:7 To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:7 How do we know they got saved? Romans 6:3, 4 and Romans 8:15, 16 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? 4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:3, 4 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: Romans 8:15, 16 So the letter in Romans 10:9 which is talking about the Word of Faith is addressing folks that, Already been to the water in baptism so they already been baptized. And they Already received the Holy Ghost. (This is the work of faith). Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power: 2 Thessalonians 1:11 So the Apostle Paul is telling the folks that already been baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost how to BE SAVED in Romans 10:9 Later, in other Epistles (letters) He will tell them in Corinthians "How to STAY SAVED" In Galatians "How to LIVED SAVED" and in Ephesians , "How to GET OTHERS SAVED !" But you ain't going to BE SAVED, STAY SAVED, LIVE SAVED, OR GET OTHERS SAVED. Until you obey Acts 2:38-40 and GET SAVED YOURSELF. And that takes the "Work of Faith" What the reformers doctrine that has crept into Holiness wants to deny is accountability. - Jude 1:4 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Romans 14:12 If a man has faith his works will prove it: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. 18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith without thy works, and I will show thee my faith by my works. James 2:17, 18 Jesus Christ preached from the Ten Commandments telling us if we want to enter life (The question was how may I have eternal life). And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. 18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, 19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matthew 19:17-19 So keeping the commandments will give you eternal life. Why? Because Jesus Christ came not with Grace and Truth to destroy the Law and Prophets but to fulfill them. - Matthew 5:17 Keeping the commandments proves you love Jesus Christ - John 14:15 Your Faith in JESUS CHRIST is the reason you have Power to Keep the Commandments. Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. John 14:23, 24 When you don't keep his commandments then you DON"T LOVE JESUS. Why are you calling him Lord, Lord? And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? Luke 6:46 Work out your own salvation by casting off the works of darkness, put on Jesus Christ and make no provision for the flesh - Romans 13:12-14 Come out of your sins and leave them alone. Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee. John 5:14 For those who have not got saved yet. Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you will receive the Holy Ghost. - Acts 2:38 To those who have already been to the water in baptism in the name of Jesus Christ. BE SAVED, STAY SAVED, LIVE SAVED, AND HELP OTHERS TO GET SAVED, STAY SAVED AND LIVE SAVED. Learn Christ Jesus - Matthew 11:29 and only speak Sound Doctrine for the Holy Scriptures. There are differences in emphasis in terms of ideas and practices, which are largely due to historical disagreements. These days, many of the denominations or 'traditions' seek to learn from each other and often recognise the validity of each other. Catholic, Anglican, Lutheran etc all have great elements and are worth checking out. The important aspects for all of them are being part of a community, encountering Jesus and responding to that in your life/decisions/relationships with the wider world. A good place to start with the Bible would be the Gospel of Mark. It's clear, a good piece of literary prose and relatively short :)

Did a decent job covering the last 3-500 years. Too bad you missed the first 1500.

Exactly! If you really want to see where and when the organized church got totally off track from the gospel you have to study 4th Century Roman History. You have to believe in the Trinity to be saved because that was the law written by a Roman Emperor in 381 AD. All the Greco Roman philosophies and pagan syncretism occurring within the church and its doctrines matured and become the orthodox traditions during the 4th and 5th centuries. (315 AD to 425 AD). Orthodox religions, and most splinter sects springing out of them, became defenders of those tradition and doctrines. They have nothing more than a contradictory pretense to the gospel or the scriptures.
