I'm learning to crochet but I really hope I can learn how to knit, I like how knitted sweaters look, they seem more cozy 😊

I wanna learn both. Knitting to make beautiful cable sweaters and pillows, and crochet for cute little accessories or decorations

the way i see it is that the stitching in a knit work is typically vertical, while the stitching in crochet work is typically horizontal. and regarding garments, knit garments are usually a lot stretchier and kinda thinner while crochet is more stiff and bumpy

That's one of the many things I love about crocheting. You can get as creative as you want and basically make your own stitches if you want.

This is a nice comparison. Having learnt both,i feel more comfortable with the crochet hook. Something about the stitches sliding off the needle at any time is anxiety inducing

Crochet uses more yarn. The finished product is thicker. It also works up faster. Knitting usually makes a more solid product. It’s also compatible with a greater variety of yarn. Not to mention that when you crochet people call it: knitting.

Actually there is a greater variety of knitting patterns and effects than with crochet! There are whole books filled with knitting structures & patterns.

A knitter myself, you should see some of the beautiful lace patterns that knitting can produce! Looks breath taking...

I don't think the biggest thing to remember is the fact that crochet is made with a single hook while knit is done with two needles.Thats obvious. It's the fact that in knitting you are working with more than one live stitch at a time while crochet only works with one live stitch at a time.
