Good video, I currently have the older generation c250d amg line and its brilliant, have also owned the sport trim, but even though the ride is better in the sport, you cant beat the look of the amg line

Bought a C class 220d Sport in September and after seeing this video decided to see if the LED headlights perform as described. I drove in full darkness with main beam on for a couple of miles and not a single car coming towards me flashed me, (I was at all times ready to turn them down if anyone took exception). As the man says "seriously cool tech" Also mine although a Sport does have 18" wheels fitted ! Love the car and Love the videos.

Haha it really is! To be honest, the only time I’ve seen where you will probably need to turn it off is on a straight motorway that stretches well beyond several miles. The light sensor may not detect an oncoming car in that scenario just because they are so far away but having said that, in almost all other scenarios, it’s really clever!

Hi Comments, The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class is just around the corner so I was going to wait till then but to be honest, the differences between SE, Sport & AMG Line are extremely similar to other models that have it like the A-Class and E-Class. It just makes them look a little bit more sportier with body styling, larger wheels and usually sportier seats.

Nick - I have an AMG line with18s on them. Can you advise on whether or not 19s are better on the AMG line? - just a bit of a wider profile rear i would prefer.

Hey ale muno, really sorry I’ve not ever modified a car before (which would include changing wheels). Some car’s suspensions are set up for that though so I’d honestly seek some advice if you were going to do it. I’m sure that your local Mercedes could probably supply wheels and advise if it would work but I don’t think they’d be able to fit them as they’re only allowed to sell cars as they’re described on their spec sheets.

great video but you did not talk about 2 things which are important to me because I have a slight difficulty getting in and out of the car. 1) is the AMG Line lower than the Sport? (2) are the bucket seats in the AMG line deeper than the Sport or the SE?

Ah bucket seats are only found in Mercedes-AMG models (the ones with powerful engines / the performance side of Mercedes). Seats should be exactly the same (some models may have slightly different stitching) For the height different, double check on the model but on this year of C-Class it is lower by 15mm so not that much. It’s very subtle 👍🏼

The steering wheels without the flat bottom are out of round so still have the same effect, just don’t have the more fashionable flat at the bottom.

Hi Alexander Yianni, Full 64 Colours! 🌈 Just make sure in the UK it’s a Premium Package, this is the one with ambient lighting.

Hi Salvador, Across the range Mercedes-Benz halogen headlights are usually only found on the base / entry models or SE in this case. Why in 2020 though? I don’t have a direct answer but at a guess, I’d say it’s probably a cost saving measure that is passed onto the consumer to keep the price competitive. On top of this Mercedes-Benz do sell cars to in bulk to small & large businesses and sometimes they don’t mind having an entry level model to save on cost. If it were me though, AMG Line all the way and probably with the fancy Multibeam LED’s! 🤓

Hi Alan, thank you! Glad you like the videos! I have seen some people do this before but it’s not something I can advise on having not done it myself. Some models have sensors and radars on the front bumper so just go a tad careful if you do.

Hi, would you say E class 'se premium' with panoramic sunroof package is superior to E class amg line, both same year(2018) but amg line is more expensive even thou its basic

Hey Ahmed, it depends on what you want in terms of specification 🤓 Sounds like in this example the SE has more gadgets like the sunroof and the Premium Package but then the AMG Line will have a more sportier bodystyling. Depends if you wanted the extra gadgets on the inside vs having larger wheels and a more sporty shape on the outside 👍🏼

Hi Nick , great information. Quick question Not sure if you mentioned what type of lights are fitted to the AMG version and secondly is the C class 200 does the AMG have x9 speed transmission. TBH im easily confused but Mercedes have lots of Trim level such as Nightlight , Premium plus and i never know which trim belongs to the different C class models 😂

Hey S P, it depends on the car 🤓 You’ll have to check the year of car and the spec. Handily I do have archived brochures here: npo-media.co.uk/mercedes-ebrochures Extremely handy to reference cars that older than a year old. Manual transmissions and auto transmissions would have been available, also depends on the whether the car has premium / premium plus (these are specs / gadgets for the car)

One thing I am not sure about is can you buy a C class (2015 to 2017) Mercedes that is not an AMG but looks exactly like an AMG with the premium package and can you save money by doing this as compared to buying the C43 AMG? I saw a 2017 C class Mercedes convertible C250, 2.1 D with the premium package and it looked identical to the AMG car but as far as I understand this was not an AMG. Is this correct?

It’ll probably be just AMG Line, that has some elements of AMG styling but without the high performance engine and stiffer suspension

Hey Mark this is a standard feature in the UK, but specs can change a few things. If you’ve got a different trim on the inside on your centre console then this would mean you don’t have it.

Hey Mark, apologies I stand corrected! It’s been a while since I’ve made this video. The specs indicate that if you have the black ash wood trim, this will give you the analogue clock but unfortunately not available on the high gloss black trim. Sorry again for the confusion!

There’s a couple of places 🤓 On the car, you can switch it off under: HOME SETTINGS SYSTEM WI-FI & BLUETOOTH And look for “Transmit Vehicle Position” For Mercedes me services, either on the app or the website, you can turn off Parked Vehicle Locator or Vehicle Tracker too. Hope that helps! 🤓

Hey Masato, purely just for different looks. AMG Line is for the sportier looking ones. They won’t all have the same grill, that might be boring! 😉

Hi Nick, does the 2013 C250. AMG Sport Plus come with the 64 LED lights on the intelligent lighting system. The ones that put the shadow effect on the back of the car in front of you?.

Hey Paul, sadly no it wasn’t really measured in terms of the LED’s numbers back then. Some models do dip the full beam and can move as you turn the steering wheel but the shadow cast on cars in front first appeared in CLS (I think in 2014) but the ones with 84 LED’s appeared in E-Class in 2016. The new S-Class has over a million pixels 🤯 they must be super bright! But even still Intelligent Light Systems found on Mercedes are all really good. I was blown away when I first saw it in a C-Class as it really does make night look like day with how bright they are!

Yeah slightly different 🤓 SE = Comfort Suspension Sport = Comfort Suspension (lowered by 15mm) AMG Line = Sports Suspension (lowered by 15mm) That what it says on paper and honestly, you’d have to drive them back to back to notice a difference. Hope that helps!

What is the difference between high led performance and multi beam?

High Performance LED’s are standard white LED lights (very bright I must add even for standard ones) MULTIBEAM LED’s are 84 LED’s in each headlight that can adapt to the road ahead. So when you have full beam on, it will dip automatically but keep full beam on everywhere but the car coming toward you. This means you have as much visibility on the road without blinding other road users.

Thank you! :) SE and Sport have standard comfort suspension however sport is lowered by 15mm. AMG line is exactly the same but the suspension is slightly firmer compared to the other two 🤓 Hope that helps!

Hey Rizwan, specs do vary round the world quite a bit however the C-Class’s shown in the video are 2019 onwards. 2018 may be slightly different as it’s before the facelift 🤓

Just aesthetic for SE, Sport, AMG Line. Most models now are just standardised as AMG line to make it easier to choose. The numbers in Mercedes depict the engine variant 🤓

It’s only slightly noticeable because of the larger wheels & suspension that’s lowered by 15mm, you’d have to drive them back to back to even notice it (if you did) Both are really comfortable to drive 🤓

aha there we go Lava Yuki 🤓 Decisions decisions....AMG Line's are a little bit more expensive but look really sporty. The sport version offers a softer and more forgiving ride but to be honest it's all down to your preference.

Hi thanks for messaging! Unfortunately in the CLA's only have AMG Line in the UK, style and progressive don't exist! However there are very similar things such as materials on seats, bumper styling and even wheel sizes which affect all these three.

AMG line is stupid. There is nothing about AMG performance. Carpets and wheels with AMG logo and sportier bodykit do not entitle the car to be part of AMG cars family.
