Thank you very much for sharing the differences between the two sets. I just ordered original ones today and I'm grateful I didn't buy revised ones. I bought 8 books including the spelling book, pictorial primer and the teacher guide just in case it will be handy. I was just looking for tips on how to use McGuffey books when I found your video. I'm so glad for all the free homeschooling information online. That's how I found out about the McGuffey books. My child is so excited about getting them.

We love the original McGuffeys! I'm using them with out 9yo and 6yo. They were both excited that God is featured in every story. The books supplement a lot of what we already discuss in our family devotions. I love finding God-centered curriculum. I loved your in-depth review and I'm so thankful that I didn't invest in the revised edition. I knew that the revised rarely mentioned God, but you pointed out exactly why God is almost completed taken out of the entire series. Thank you for your thorough review and for helping more to invest in a treasured Christ-centered curriculum in the original McGuffeys.

I have both sets. For two years, I have barely reached for the revised version. I haven't really paid attention as to why but I have loved the original and the depth of each story and of course the strong biblical stance. The revised is sweet but I agree, its not nearly as evangelical! Thank you so much for comparing the two! I will continue with the original and just use the revised for reading material.
