What's The OOW Oral Exam Like?

I passed my OOW oral exam last month. In this video, I describe what the oral exam is like and my experience of it.
The OOW oral exam is the final exam of training in the Merchant Navy to determine if you're ready to be an officer of the watch.
It can be very daunting and stressful to prepare for especially when you don't know what to expect.
Hopefully this video can help you with that, and relax your nerves a bit before the big day.

Hey Matthew! MGN 69 was recently replaced by MIN 653 (01 November 2021). Just in case people check the wrong syllabus. Not much has changed, theyve mostly expanded their explanation of each of the old bullet points and highlighted some common issues like using VHF for collision avoidance etc.

hey Mathew I'm holding COC but since my country isn't in the white list of IMO (nor part of UN) , Now I'm switching my career to a new company who required that I should secure a MCA-issued COC to be consider for the vacancy. did some reaserch on MCA web yet still confused about how it works

Hi Pate, you should email or phone the MCA explaining your situation. You might need to sit an MCA oral exam but I'm not sure exactly how it works for you.

Thanks for the guideline. I want to know if you fail in oral exam and when you appear next oral exam, the surveyor will ask again all questions from syllabus or only question when you have failed

What I have heard from seniors ,yes, every time it will be oral from start like first one.

Hi Mate, I am converting to a UK C/O CoC, would you recommend any refreshment courses? I feel overwhelmed by the information and options on the Internet. Various centres offer various courses that have different prices. I assume there is no standard course in the UK but still please would you be able to recommend something based on your knowledge?
