My therapist gave me a Schneider slider memo today, I was very impressed! It’s especially good for drawing on skin, which is not a test that many pens will pass, and certainly makes it more fun.

I was in the grocery store here in Germany the other day and saw the Schneider Rave XB and almost bought it. I'm going back to pick one up today :D

living in the Netherlands the Schneider pens are on my local amazon store so seems like a good buy thanks for the informative vid..

It's amazing that in high school we all ended up with Taplis just by sheer trial and error, didn't have useful vids like this! I liked using the Tapli mechanical pencil for long math/drafting sessions, great grip and the right price.

the smoothest ballpoint i have tried to this was the faber castell polyball XB. honorable mention: the faber castell intuition refill. no ball point, but an ink roller with a synthetic ruby ball, that is used in some of theyr premium pens. the feel and evenness are just superb!

So glad to find this video. I have always been a fan of the bold ballpoint type pens. I really really dislike writing when the pen is not smooth enough or too thin! Peeps look at me blankly when I say the pen I use has to be just right to write! Glad to see I am not the only one. Keen to try some of the one's you've suggested. The Tapli seems difficult to come across here in Australia but I'm gonna give the F301 a go & also the Schneider Slider Rave & maybe the Ohto Dude after reading other comments (tho not sure about the shape). Up to date I've gone Bic & Papermate mainly...have to confess I did not realise there were so many options. Excited to experiment & find the right pen. I tend to write big & flairy so maybe that's why I prefer a bold pen to match. Cheers for the ideas. :)

How would you compare the Schneider 755 XB and the Schmidt P900 B?

I picked up a bic gelocity at work a few days ago and it was amazing. Ive used some that flood more ink out nicely but the gel ink flowed very smooth and controlled, so you can go slower without it all absorbing into the paper and staining outwards as a more flowing ink pen would do. I bought a pack at walmart today to my suprize they were the only click bic pens there all the other bics were just the cap lid style and the gelocity were like 9$ for 4 colors and 1 blk

Bic soft feel is the best you just gotta find the smoothest in the pack. Azor pin point fine just as good.

A variable that gets overlooked is the pressure required to obtain a given line "solidity", especially at the lighter end of the scale. I take lots of notes and make sketches while tinkering in my workshop, often on odd scraps of paper or cardboard and without being able to hold it down firmly on a flat surface. My go-to pen had always been a Fisher until I discovered the Schmidt P900. It is almost pencil-like in how little pressure is required to put down ink, however little it might be. It will write when the Fisher either skips or pushes the paper around. The Schmidt also works at much lower angles to the paper which I have found very useful for making technical sketches.

In your opinion, is the uniball jetstream or the schneider slider edge better? the jetstream ink gets scratchy very often with the 0.5mm versions.. schneider slider edge is more expensive, non-refillable and the ink runs out pretty fast.

i think the bic atlantis ultra comfort is hybrid ink though. it writes like my pilot acroball - very smooth and dark lines, and the tip is only 1.2mm

Hi Sal, I just sent you a question on smoother flowing pens on a more recent video. I now realize that the Tapli was purchased exactly for the =is reason and that might be why I like it so much, Disregarding the question of ballpoint (I prefer clicky pens, but that is much for the fidget factor as anything), What is the smoothest pens? Also, Is getting the Schneider Slider Rave XB worth it, or would I be better served with more of the Zebra Tapli Clip 1.6mm? As stated in the other video comment, I would be willing to move away from my comfort zone and explore other options (like fountain pens) IF they would give me what I am looking for in a pen.

The absolute smoothest pen I have ever tried was a pilot laundry tec, pretty cheap too, but they've changed the formula since then now its like a gel of some sort, they bleed through the page, I guess it's probably better for their actual purpose of writing on uniforms so you know which one belongs to which kid, but man they used to be great

Recently found a set of pen named good stuff in Amazon....and sort of liked them....looks like those promotional pens you get from chemical and consumable dealers in our laboratory...does quite well....have you checked those?

Im super picky about pens can someone help me .I tried many ballpoint pens but nothing works for me. Do you guys know a ballpoint pen that is smooth when writing and has a good pigment? I'm still searching for a good ballpoint pens because I always use gel pens and it is expensive and doesn't last long.

In my Opinion, Flair Streamer or Flair Zing are the smoothest pens, also, a flair Zing lasts forever, I wrote all my exams with one Flair Zing and it Still had some ink left.

The best ballpoints aren't made in the USA. They're made in Japan and India, like the pilot better pens from Japan and the cello and nataraj pens from India. Though Bic bought Cello pens so now they're not as good as they used to be.
