That was actually a quite interesting subject cheers. Ooh that little Virtuoso in the background is kinda cute, I keep getting tempted by it. Oh no wine on the Mirror 😮 that scary.

I thought that was a very comprehensive overview of being paid for astronomy. I have wondered if I could monetize my observatory which I built just for personal use and friends. It’s made of shipping containers with an 800 square foot upper observation deck surrounded by an 8’ tall steel wall. Bortle 3-4. 30 miles from Las Vegas. Thanks for all the great pointers and informations!!

That is pretty cool. I am sure you could figure out a business model to make your gear work for you, especially with Vegas being so close.

I found this latest video very interesting. Thanks! I have two questions; Do you have a fixed programme for the evening, a list of objects to view, do you record them in the ASIAIR or NiNA in advance or do you just respond to questions? How many do you try and show and how many guests get to view each one in turn? (I guess that’s more than one question :) And question 2, what do you do when it’s cloudy (I live in the UK!!) Many Thanks

Kevin here. 1) I do not preselect anything during my programs. I know the sky pretty well so I can usually pick which objects fit best for the night. This can depend on the location and visibility provided as well as what the lighting is like. Sometimes a client will want examples of objects before hand so I will provide a short list for some we might view. But overall we jump from target to target if we are doing live imaging. If someone asks about a certain time of target we will slew over to show an example of what they ask about. 2) I have a cancelation policy for my events if the weather does not allow for it. But I also have other offerings to offer such as meteorite displays and talks. Each event is customized for each client and having back up offerings is a great way to save events from being canceled completely.

Hi Rick, the volume was fine on our end and with the remote moderators that we use. We'll take a look at our settings, but this might be on your end.

What do you do if you have to take a break? Say get a snack or use the bathroom?
@SkyWatcherUSA

We usually don't take a break. You work through the whole time you are on site. Most events are four or five hours from arrival and leaving. You can always run to the restroom if needed or bring snacks. Just look and be professional.

Follow up. Plan ahead and use the restroom just prior to the event and be mindful of what you eat and drink during the event. You should be fine.
