I've beaten Sonic Mania 3 times and about to do it a fourth time with sonic alone because I've beaten it with tails alone, sonic and tails and knuckles. Peter, you've done very well with sonic mania and you played it how you wanted to play it and you got through. Good job man, I love your videos, especially these what's up with videos ^^

I can never get enough of the two tracks Hyper Potions composed for the game! :3 'friends' is exiting while also being (by lack of a better word) somewhat emotional in some places (especially the part that comes after the music originally ended in the intro video), and then 'time trials' is pretty much nothing but exitement and adrenaline. And it's not just the originals I love. Skye Rocket and Chi-chi made lyrical adaptions for time trials and friends respectively, and I know both by heart, that's how much I love them! Hyper Potions really outdid themselves :3

As someone who waited for Sonic Mania since 1994 I absolutely loved it. I wish it had more original levels but apparently that was Sega's fault and they did a good job of remixing the classic stages to make them feel new again. Sonic 3 & Knuckles is one of my favorite games of all time so this game was like a warm hug from beginning to end. I hope the Adventure era fans get their third game someday too.

You know, sometimes I wonder if Peter actually thinks Cardboard Silver is alive and the voiceove is just added in post so that Peter would appear a lot less crazy when he realizes that he was just talking to himself when editing the footage. No, seriously, it's impressive how genuine you can make these scripted conversations between you and a cardboard cutout sound. It really feels like Cardboard Silver is alive in these vids, and I love that about them.

I'm glad I wasn't the only 1 not using the Drop Dash on their play through. Like Peter, I also went in blind, as I much prefer playing, over watching. Mind you, I knew the Drop Dash was a thing, but I thought it was something that'd I'd unlock, at some point in the game. It was about half way, if not 2/3s of the way through, that I stumbled upon how to do it online.

I feel like cardboard silver should have his own lil show on the channel. Who else agrees?

Level Design is an incredibly complex topic to talk about and takes thousands of hours of careful observation and in-depth KZfaq videos to even BEGIN to understand. It's understanding the very fundamentals of what makes video games fun, and some people just can't think that deep. It has to "click" in your mind, and once it clicks you can never go back. Also, when people compare the Classics and the Advances, they're not talking about Advance 1, as it's extremely faithful to the original trilogy and people generally agree that it is comparable in quality to them. Also, the foam thing reminded me of FOAM ADVENTURE, one of the cringiest KZfaq videos ever.

So happy this is back!!

Btw I really appreciate the point about the long running sections where you're not doing all that much in sonic games. People never really criticized the classics for the automation or moments where you're just moving in one direction. The only thing I can think of is that it takes too long to be waiting for things in marble zone from sonic 1. There's less of it compared to recent games, but no really talks about how it's used in the classics or even sonic mania by association. From my perception, classic sonic fans that don't really like the adventure or boost games just want sonic games to be stripped of those moments but think it's super cool in mania when sonic runs upside down on the outside of flying battery while doing nothing but holding right.

The only titles I have beaten is Sonic Rush, and soon I will beat Forces. Soon.
