Theory: What’s west of Westeros is a “Ring of Fire” type situation with dozens of volcanoes, including at least one large supervolcano. Not only does this explain some of the descriptions (walls of fire and black smoke) and why there are descriptions of paradise islands (volcanic soil is incredibly fertile after all), but it would actually explain the super long winters. They’re actually volcanic winters being caused by supervolcanic eruptions.

That would also go a ways to explain why only the far north of Westeros and the far east of Essos in the Grey Wastes are effected the worst during the winters, both having similar tales of a Long Night esq event, meanwhile central Essos was mostly unaffected by it.

Elisa Farman is probably the most cool and interesting background character in the series, she explored the world, discovered new lands, fought pirates and stole from dragon lords( and stole the hearth of a Dragon queen). She might have even seen ashai and the shadowlands and fought a kraken in a storm. Like holy cow calm down lady you can’t just be that cool.

@Israel Salgado they were born the same time but drogon was the largest because it was always free. The time they lived in captivity they stopped growing or grew slower, that was why drogon grew larger

The supposed “paradise” across the Sunset Sea is definitely a reference to Tolkien. At the end of the book series, I imagine at least a couple characters taking a ship into the west. Frodo’s experiences in the war of the ring broke him, and traumatized him, and so he sailed into the west to the Undying Lands. Arya might sail into the west in the books like she did in the show, provided that the ending is from GRRM’s notes. She may not have anywhere else where she feels like she can go. She may abandon Nymeria, and her pack, convinced that she deserves to be alone. Although I hope she’ll get a happier ending. I think Asha and Theon (provided they survive the story) are better candidates for sailing into the west. Theon’s trauma under Ramsay makes him thematically resonate with Frodo, at least a slight bit. Asha may similarly want to get away from it all. I frankly love the idea of Asha and Theon doing this. They’re siblings that never really got to grow up together. They’ve both lived through a lot of crazy times, which I think we all know is exhausting. And so they sail into the west, getting away from it all and making up for their lost childhood together. Never to return.

Its just the east coast of essos, funnily enough, we havent seen that either so we dont know how big the sunset sea or essos actually is. Whatever damaged and caused the high radiation in the east might explain the constant storms in the sunset sea. Probably a meteorite. Perhaps the one the bloodstone emperor worshipped when it fell. The one that supposedly caused the long night. Constant darkness being another side effect of a meteorite strike.

We can make a rough estimate of the size of the world given its gravity and the fact that it seems to have similar geology to our own. That and the weather along the west coast of Westeros tell us that there's another significantly sized land mass out there. Were there not, the wind speeds hitting that coast would be terrifying.

Ever realized that the new islands kinda represents Indonesia? It has rare spices, a dragon fruit (which is pink), and huge lizard that can't be found anywhere but there (komodo dragon). In addition it kinda fits the map.

If there were to be a one fo the spinoff series to be centered around Elissa Farman, then let's hope we get to see what happened to her, and not leave it vague ending?

@@Brandonhayhew leaving it open ended lets people have their own interpretation of the story. Letting people know what REALLY happened to her in the end kind of gives away too many plot points. Having an open ending could let people theorise that she might actually BE Quaithe, bad not just telling us outright that she is or isn't. Or the dragon eggs, I personally don't really want to know if these are the same eggs as the ones in the show, it would best be left the shadows and let people speculate. This like these are kind of why the books are so good, mysteries that hint towards something but either the author doesn't want us to find out yet or even at all.

After your last video about the East and learning how the Easterlings had their own ice zombie problems, and after watching this I'm pretty convinced that far to the north, beyond the Lands of Always Winter, there is a sort of Bering Land Bridge that connects Essos and Westeros, and that the White Walkers originate from somewhere around there.

The most interesting part of this is that Farman thought the world was larger than those who studied such things and specifically wanted to find new lands, which is the exact opposite of Columbus who thought it was smaller than those who studied such things and hoped to find the already known lands of the far east.

@@Raisa-gb4fh The problem with Columbus is that he is often portrayed as stupid and murderous Psychopath. Yes the diameter of the World was know - in Ancient Greece - there was a lot knowledge lost, and in the 50 years preceding the Columbus expedition there was a lot of debate concerning size of the world and it's shape (though there were no flat-earthers thankfully). Most of what we know about Columbus comes from his successor in America - the one who started Slave trade (records show it was him, couple years after Columbus death), but since it was even then seen as something meh..., he wrote in his diaries, that Columbus started it. Was Mr. C Good man? No, (although he was jailed for punishing Spanish subjects for raping Native American Women, he was against it), but he's also not a BAD villain as often now portrayed. And since practically every source on him has an agenda (was written by his opponents, or translated into English, by person who wanted to vilify Spanish, so he "mistranslated"), he is portrayed as THE EVIL. There was no knowledge of Bacteria in 15th Century, he couldn't predict that a Genocide will happen, because the Natives weren't immune to smallpox etc. If it was now it would be a Crime, but then it was tragic turn of events. As much as I like your content, I really doubt your theory that Elissa had used “Brilliant”. There is little evidence in the books that nations of the GoT had developed computer technology, much less internet. Especially Elissa, so far in world’s past. This is a very far fetched idea. I mean, think about it - they still used swords, and crossbows. A ballista is treated as some sort of mechanical marvel. Their development is still not sufficient for that kind of tech.

consider the possibility that the Game of Thrones reality is in some way related (even if very, very remotely, as in on the very, outer fringe of a distant chance) to GRRM previous works in his Thousand World series... if you've not read or heard any of the short audio books i would highly recommend them, especially the Tuf Voyaging arc of books...a lot of the same imagery appears throughout these works if you know how to spot them

But there were plenty of dragons in Elissa's time so I think they had a good connection back then.

Woah, finally a viable Quaithe theory!👌 Ashare=Quaithe sounded unbelievable, while Shiera=Quaithe was just a bit better although still forced. But Elissa has an actual memory to those eggs and therefore she could have been emotionally involved in their fate if not fore something else, then for bad consciousness. Quaithe's cryptic geography poem would also make more sense form Elissa's mouth.

I like the Syria Forel = Quaithe. The Ned = Quaithe is not as nice. Mel = Quaithe in a parallell universe is also interesting. The 13th lord Commanders wife = Quaithe have its benefits aswell. Apart from the more obvious ones like. Visenya = Quaithe. Varys mother = Quaithe Tyrions mother = Quaithe.

When Arya Stark decided to travel West of Westeros, she faced violent waters for months and a big storm finally destroyed her ship and all her crew. She survived but suffered amnesia and washed ashore on the edge of what looks like dry wastelands. As a Stark, her instincts told her to travel across the land to reach north and did everything she could to survive until that fateful day she reached the border of the northern lands and got captured by the country's imperials along with a group of soldiers. She woke up to a voice saying "You're finally awake..." Thus, the story of Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim begins. West of Westeros is Tamriel. Just kidding, I'm bored xD

There’s one other possibility: The Shadowlands. Since GRRM confirmed the world is round, and the Shadowlands are the furthest east, then that would also make them the furthest west. Now remember, even the shadowbinders of Asshai fear the Shadowlands. For anyone traveling west, whatever horror lurks there would be the first thing they see.

I would LOVE a sequel show to GOT of Arya sailing west. I think it could be really interesting to further explore the world and who doesn't love a good pirate(ish) story?
