Thank you, Bjorn. Calm mindfulness, indeed. As I have slowed down over the years, I’m aware of the world around me seemingly more chaotic. I think it more than a coincidence that the places we escape to are merely the places as they were before the chaos.

I’m also retired. I am moving to a place where I can walk in the woods everyday. I feel so much better when I can do that. I had a hard time with retirement. My identity was tied up too much with my job and position. Thank you for your channel and giving me the thoughts that it’s a great opportunity to be retired and to slow down. I gave up playing video games on my phone because they were leading me down the wrong path and teaching me ungodly thoughts and ways. I now read books and listen to topics that teach me good Godly living.❤thanks for peaceful living guidance that makes me realize that life is short & the return is soon. Studying and staying close to Yahweh is most important. Serving others and teaching will be my life forever. ❤

So enjoy my slow simple life. I'm 57 and work part time. Some people at work feel sorry for me that I don't go out to fancy restaurants or holidays, though I don't want that. A simple slow day for me is all I need. I live on the Australian coast, so a daily walk along the waters edge is so beautiful relaxing and fulfilling. Thanks for taking the time to make your videos i thoroughly enjoy them.

I think when we're young, we come across certain ideal pictures of life and try to make our life and identity match those pictures - this is what I notice about some slow living content by the younger folk - but all it takes is having a couple children to cure you of striving for picture perfect 😂 Like you say, some of the content is quite aesthetically beautiful, and it can help you remember, hey, there's a lot of joy to be had in making a simple cup of tea - but I prefer content by older folks, who understand that slow living is more a mindset than it is about your decor or your clothes. It's about being appreciative of what comes to you and not trying too hard - the universe is a good place.

I do sometimes think that the people producing these channels may have challenging times to come, like we all do, and it’s only experience of life’s up and downs that equips you to get through those challenges without upsetting the equilibrium of your life.

@@primalengland When I had dogs, I would take them around the yard for sniff walks. I have a good sized yard and had to keep the little one on a leash. I let him set the pace for snuffling around. On the nail as usual Nigel. I suspect that many of the people who say that they would love to live a slower lifestyle but don't think they could live with... couldn't financially afford, etc. may just be making excuses for themselves. The slow life looks and sounds great but not everyone is cut out for it. People should be honest with themselves and decide if they could really live that sort of life.

Hello Nigel: you are looking well, in your walk with Molly! I finally figured out what I want to do this year. I will reduce my volunteering in the fall. I have started to go places this summer, that are peaceful and calming in other towns and villages. I am making up for the loss of having done that last year, when I had a leg issue, and at the same time my apartment was flooded! I couldn't garden or travel, and was having to stay in motels, eventually having to stay with my daughter, when insurance money ran out. I find I wanted to volunteer this year. Now, slowing it down to less hours and more relaxing activities. Keep up your inspiring ways. See you on the flip!

Volunteering is a great thing to do, but you can’t neglect yourself. You can still do as much as you feel comfortable with, but spend time relaxing. We owe it to ourselves.

@primalengland That's what I have come to realize, I've been retired for years now since I was 65, I'm now in my early 70's. I have been volunteering just to keep my physical, social and mental well-being in tune. More of my friends, have stopped working so they have time to meet up. So I will cut back my hours. I never was one to venture out on my own with what you do, walking the moors. I will say, I do go into villages on my own for walks. I just love the areas you go for walks. Do you meet up with single women walking those routes?

I moved houses some times, and each time i take less and less things. We really dont need much stuff to live comfortably. I wish it was that easy to declutter my mind, but I'm trying ❤. Most slow living vlogs make us think we have to buy a cottage and garden, light some candles and bake cakes to live a slow life.

One hobby I share with you is photography. When I was working it took a back seat much of the time my camera only coming into use during holiday periods etc. Now well into my retirement I take my camera with me whenever I go out. It is a channel for my own creativity and in many ways a walking meditation. The more I have a sense of inner stillness the more I see and sense what is around me and it shows in the images I take. A bad habit is something you feel you have to do, a good habit is something you want to do; because it enhances your sense of well being and creativity. It is a virtuous cycle because you just want to continue doing something for the positive health benefits it offers. It may be called slow living but actually my life feels quite full.

Ive always loved being outside. I enjoy my late walk to Spar shop. And thinking of it, A chap I cared for said, I always drive friends or family home the Scenic route, give them something nice to remember to the end of their day. And I do that on my evening walk what ever the weather, I walk the best scenic route their, and last night I thought hmmmm? Why am I walking the route home I dont like..., so I stopped turned round and walked back on the scenic route I like, for the flower's I pass, the people coming out the Greek restaurant, then fancing at the estate agent, all dressed up and looking lovely. And I thought thats much better.

Amazing how many excuses human can come up with not to do what they claim they want to do. Then they make it unnecessarily complicated just to justify never doing it. I knew a person who fill every single moment of their life with activities. It was draining to watch. I think if they stopped it would have forced them to take a look at their life and they didn't want to do that. That would mean they would have to "fix" things in their life.
