Please folks no more about the number plate! I said in the video I'm changing it - I know silver on black is not legal, I rode the bike three times like that - once from the shop, this ride, and then when I took it back to the shop for the rework (where it's been for the last month)....the numberplate is being relocated and replaced!

The first thing I thought on the reveal was how tacky the decal was. I would've duplicated the original Interceptor one albeit in gold. I think you are being generous with the appraisel of workmanship as many things appear sub par. I agree with the idea of a small rear mudguard, would finish the rear end nicely with the number plate put there also. Overall the bike looks great and I like the look of the Baak pipes personally. Just a shame The Bike Den took it upon them selves to not follow your specs more closely. Interested to see the follow up video re costs. Have a great day!

There is a more precise explanation about the tyres and tread patterns and why some may think they could be fitted the wrong way. The tread pattern is set for water dispersion and has to be at right angle to the primary force that the particular wheel has to deal with. That being front wheel for braking and rear wheel for acceleration, hence the tread pattern will be opposite. Hope that helps👍

It wouldn’t cost any more to have bespoke exhausts constructed out of stainless and then matte PVD coated. Everything that’s been done to ruin that bike could have been done in a shed in less than a month by anyone with an eBay account. But surely he must realise that by now. And milking this sad episode by teasing his fans with a separate vid to reveal the full cost of his mistake, is yet another mistake. I got in touch with a local outfit to mod up one of my old bikes - they were starting at €12000 and I would expect you paid something similar. Sorry to say, but the first thing that jumped out to me on the reveal was the fantastic green/gold colour combo, followed almost immediately by - oh god, why has he put that awful enormous logo on the side cover??? The bar end mirrors definitely are not up to snuff. Good Morning Andy, This really video really teaches you how a customers relationship and communication with a custom shop is so important when going into a project like yours. I think one needs to be so on top of what exactly you want modified otherwise there can too many grey areas which results in the technician carrying out his own take on what you want. A lesson to be learned here i believe is to use a custom specialist which is local to you. This way you can drop in regularly to check and discuss the build as it takes shape. I’m not sure why the guys fitted £1k worth Baak pipes when you were happy with the TecBike silencers? I love the bike but all the points you make I agree with especially the need for a tail and those bar end mirrors not fitted correctly. That’s sloppy work. @@TheMissendenFlyer Don’t ever go into business Andy, you will lose everything. They daw you coming a mile off. But why did you pay the bill? I would be suing them for breach of contract. But since the car hadn’t been driven, all they needed was skimming. The list of parts is extensive, but they only offered a discount on two. They were the ones that can be exchanged for reconditioned parts. He paid for new! But his failure was not negotiating a much better deal. @@jjnewman65 Thank you. I’m not sure at what point it was decided all bikers have such fragile egos that it’s imperative to heap praise upon everyone’s bike, regardless of how badly it was designed and constructed by the manufacturer, or how badly it’s been butchered by some deluded fool in his shed. But the ones most worthy of criticism are the greedy, taste and integrity deficient fools that have jumped on the custom bike fad - without any idea how to do it, and their goat like victims who refuse to admit, even to themselves, what’s really happened. When I bought my first Honda CB250G5 in 1977, my Suzuki, Yamaha and Kawasaki two stroke owners ridiculed me mercilessly for my choice, criticising its power, handling and looks. So I spent a few weekends gas flowing the head, increased the compression ratio, polished the combustion chambers and exhaust ports, added bigger jets, played with the timing, and fitted Harris exhaust, Girling rear shocks, preloaded the fork springs, and fitted Avon Roadrunners. That shut them up as convincingly as I shut them down on the road. But those were the days when we owned one bike and it wasn’t a leisure choice! Take a look at 46 Works to witness bike customisation at its very best. I have no idea how much Shiro Nakajima charges for his wonderful creations, but I guarantee it’s worth every penny.

First of all love the bike..! ..how much for the exhaust! Wow. Agree that the TMF on the side panel looks like a advertising hoarding - removal altogether and stich into seat as you'd originally requested. There must be a better set of indicators in the style of the bike available somewhere. I know someone that could knock a set up for £1,000. A mudguard will help to lengthen the side profile and make look a bit more slender. An integrated [flush to shape of the] black number-plate into the mudguard would look great. Change brake reservoir for a smaller cylindrical metal item. Those changes will help to finish off the sophisticated, clean look of bike.

On the mirrors wobbling, I had the same issue with Rizomas on my Ducati Sport Classic custom build. The problem is that these designs have an expandable rubber collet that grips the inside. But it’s a one time deal. Any pressure from the wrist (especially when turning the throttle) or making an adjustment and it flips loose. One solution I found is that you can buy cheapie eBay mirrors but it comes with a metal collet that seems to hold better. It a couple and change it out whenever it loosens. Hope this helps

I agree, it is a good looking bike. As for the additional/remedial work here’s my two-penneth worth: Fit a shorty mudguard on the rear; lose the letters TMF on the side panels (the bike motif is good); the embroidery on the rear of the seat sounds good (but monitor the size of each element); swap the rear indicators and rear light for an integrated rear light/indicator installation and lastly; there has to be a gold coloured flexible U-channel to fit around the tank edges. Are you also sure about the legality of an apparently dual seat with no passenger footpegs? Some MOT testers will fail you for that. Best of luck with sorting your bike out.

You'll need something on the side covers otherwise it will be a little bland. Maybe a seat cowl over the rear portion of the seat and add the small fender like your Speed Twin. If you scale the MTF logo on side covers I'd skip embroidery of the seat. Right now she looks a little plump when viewed from the rear.😄😄 I've seen a few Bonnevilles with exhaust exiting each side but at the mid calf level and coming back to mount to the shock mounts and they sound great. You have probably seen in them pictures from the early 1960s ISDTs. When you first started the project I expected the modifications to be at least the same as the purchase price of the bike...if you finish lower than that then you have done pretty good.

I embarked upon my custom bike journey about five years ago. Of course spent a lot of money and equally there are some things I would like to change! Have already changed the handlebars. But overall very happy with what turned out to be an award winning chopper. The large amount of research (dreaming) you need to do and finding the right builder are all important. There needs to be a good rapport and several meetings, at which decisions are made about parts and paint. Then as the build progresses further visits to reaffirm goals-oh and pay bills! A competent builder should, with proper input and financial commitment from you complete your dream bike within a year.

For me, the attraction of the RE is the price, a few sensible mods and its a cracker of a bike and amazing value for money. When you said that your's was going away for extensive modification I thought that the likely justification for this would be content. Maybe it was and sadly, Covid stopped you from being to film regular updates? Anyway, my thought that I have to share is that, whilst most most of the mods have been carried out very well and look great, I can't help feeling that you've killed the true spirit of the Enfield and created very poor value alternative to a Triumph Street Scrambler. I agree with your comments regarding the back end looking a little blunt and the lights do look cheap. I would replace the lights and add a fender extension/ mud guard. The TMF logo on the side would look better if it was smaller. Had you not mentioned the trim around the tank I might not have noticed - could you fit some black trim over top of the seam instead of taping? The brake master cylinder looks fine, it wouldn't be something I would change. The vibrating mirror would drive me nuts, I would fix or replace. I also agree the exhaust would look better if it was extended another 12" or so however the BAAK exhaust sounds good and the black looks great, again it wouldn't be something I would change especially given the cost involved. Stitching on the back of the seat would look good proving the cost wasn't excessive. Signal probably just need tightening and a bit of lock tight so they don't loosen. I'd get rid of the side panel logo and go for the stitching on the seat I think that would look great, mirrors just need to be properly installed again. I think overall it’s very nice, but any custom build comes with little niggles you either learn to live with them or have to change them. The rear end needs the small mudguard, and what about an led rear brake strip rather than the protruding brake light? Leave the license plate where it is. Get Rizoma mirrors and bullet indicators, quality product, although a bit pricy.

The brake master cylinder is fine better than a plastic thing. It only looks big because there are no mirrors nearby. The side logo is big enough for people to see if that’s what you want. If you remove it and have one on the seat very few will see it. In terms of scramblers and terms of racing it’s ok for team logos to be big, enter it in the Baja 500 😎 Yes you need a rear fender if you don’t want spray on your back, it makes sense with that rear light there to go with it.

If i ever had one done i would supply pictures of things that you like from previous bikes so they are on the same page and more involvement during the process so you can see it unfold rather than a final showing at the end like a bind date -they rarely go well. Hello Thanks for another great video. Sorry to say this but having watched this video, it has reinforced my notion of not wanting to modify bikes at all. l do understand people may modify them for better performance and or even the way they look. l agree when done well those can be amazing. However, given the cost and time it gets me thinking is it worth it? Especially for those who eventually sell their bikes, more often than not stock bikes fetch a better price than the heavily modded ones. So to me it does not seem to be something l would do. However, you are more of a keeper than a flogger l guess. Thinking of the amount of mods you have done started thinking at the rate you went, you may as well have built your own, l think after you got through with it, it was barely recognisable. As l was watching and listening to you detail what has been done, could not help wondering would you not have been better served take the initial cost and the sums you spent buying another Triumph, Ducati, BMW, Harley or whatever takes your fancy and be about 80% or more satisfied from the off. Would have saved you a lot of aggravation. Wonder what the Missus makes of all this though. By the way Yammie Noob said something about the fact that it may be illegal to modify your bikes in the future, what do you think of this as someone who clearly loves to do so? All the best with the project but l have to say a few of the mods had made in stitches, someone was having a laugh at your expense, the missing mudguard and the manner in which the license was placed. That to me smacks of someone taking the mickey out of you. To think you paid for that privilege, what is this world coming to? lf this is craftsmanship, l will take my chances with robots any day.

One look at what is in your garage proves that you know what a good looking bike looks like, its both unfortunate and bizarre that you didn’t get what you were looking for, I wholeheartedly agree with all the points you have highlighted and hope you get them resolved to your satisfaction, you deserve better.

Ouch, quite a list there - wobbly mirrors and indicators, stubby rear, weird BAAK exhaust, giant logo you didn't ask for..? Given the time they had the bike, I would be pretty annoyed myself. Good on you for sharing your disappointment, though. Hope it gets sorted soon. P.S. I'm betting £4500 for all the work :)

@@TheMissendenFlyer well, that's a bit of a shock... Brave man for sharing that information; you'll no doubt be getting some interesting comments... which I suppose is a good thing - the revenue will help claw back some of the outlay😉

All your points are very valid. I think the TMF logo is too big and a smaller version would have been more suitable. No one will ever like all that you change so it is a very personal thing!

yes back end is too blunt a short guard and no plate and I would have an oval back lamp myself to suit. maybe combine rear lamp and side indication?

Totally agree with the bits you don't like, defo needs a rear mudguard, looks stumpy without it. Rear plate at the back like you say would be better too. Lose the TMF and get it on the seat like you wanted, would look 100% better. Overall it's really good, just needs a few bits changed to be perfect! Would you consider the big bore kit for it? Seen gains in the USA that bring the bike to 70+bhp and apparently it handles the extra poke well!

Try black or silver edgeing trim from halfords to tidy up your tank lip, used on my triumph tank and gets rid of the long join , looks so much cleaner.

I like the TMF logo on the side of the bike. Maybe 25% smaller would improve the overall look?
