I don't care how far technology comes along and if AI takes over, Ice Cream trucks will still be magical. Early 2000s Ice Cream trucks are what I grew up with 😋 I would always save up a few quarters, and the Ice Cream truck man would always say the going rate for an Ice Cream cone that day was how many quarters I happened to have that day 😂

Nice looking truck. The one I own is a 1978 chevy grumman ( ex-postal truck) Have to have those sliding open doors for those hot summer days.

That pay it forward idea is awesome ! I remember in about 1974, sweltering day, hearing the ice cream truck...no money. The 9 year old me cried. All these many years later, I still recall that sinking feeling. 😔

@@MaryBeth1965 our community takes care of the unfortunate situations. We just pass it on, and ask the receiver to be nice to someone else who is less fortunate.

Love your truck! I just started my ice cream truck business 5 months ago. And yes you're right, no one cares for the snacks. My favorite childhood memories is stopping the ice cream truck and paying with pennies 😅

I had my own ice cream truck back in the mid-70s. Actually the song I played on my ice cream truck was the one you were playing when the video first started. I'm old-school so I like the old music boxes from back in the 60s and 70s.

I like your ice cream truck. You have everything like the freezers and the design of the truck. I also like the Nichols Electronics Omni 2 music box you’ve got for the music, and most of all, I like how you converted the Ford Transit van into an ice cream truck.

Moxie, We are starting our business this summer and are looking for a good freezer. I see that you have close to about 30 choices +/-, You get all those choices in that freezer?? Wow, where do you keep your spare inventory?

I've got about 25 items I carry every day. I easily get them all in there. The more choices you give them, the longer they keep the line from moving. Then you just stare at them picking their nose while they decide. The freezer is the most important piece of the entire operation. It's a cold plate freezer from C. Nelson. Plug it in at night, and it keeps the ice cream perfectly frozen all day with no power needs. Not too hard, like a freezer with dry ice, but just right for eating. Don't be that company that uses dry ice. You are selling rocks that no one can even eat till they thaw out a little. Spend the cash and get the best the first time...trust me. You will learn a way to arrange the boxes so the biggest selling items are on top, and the slower ones on the bottom. I keep a spare chest freezer on wheels at home in the garage. I load it up into the van for the weekly re-up. Good luck with the business!!

I feel like starting a ice cream truck. the music box I am going to use is probably one of the ones made by vixen horns because it has animal sounds, sirens, music, and a built in PA system.

I built a "window" piece that fits in the space. It's held in with simple clasps. We take it out when we're doing business, and it goes back in when we travel...

It's not the kids that you have to worry about. The MOMS make the decision. Just because YOU like it, doesn't mean it will translate to sales. What will deter people in general, is making it look like something else, and not an ice cream truck. How many restaurants have you passed on, saying to yourself, "It looks weird". Something to think about...Give yourself every advantage you can. Keep it simple, and THAT will help you be successful.

We're in Texas! I see snow cone trucks but not ice cream. We live in a small town but there are bigger ones around. I'd say I work good with people, especially kids as I'm a teacher assistant

@@03ambertoby Well, I put 35K into a new van and built it out...It's been working for me. Start with the ice cream and see if you have a place to buy it...it don't matter if you can't supply it! If you have people skills and actually like them, you'll do fine. Watch more of our videos and you'll see...OBVIOUSLY I'm having a blast.
