So basically, when in australia: Everything that is nice and safe in the rest of the world is dangerous. Everything that is dangerous, is even more dangerous. And everything that is deadly should be avoided by a 1km radius around said object.

Whilst we have many deadly animals, they leave you alone if you leave them alone. Other countries, however, have large, land predators that actively roam looking for large things to kill. Some of these animals include, but not limited to; Bears, lions, tigers, wolves in some cases, and gun wielding psychos. Australia is a lot safer than many countries in the world

I was once caught in a sea wave that formed a whirl, I saw everyone running out of the water, when I saw the reason (the biggest wave that I had seen back then) it was too late to run, the wave threw me like a doll from here to there and keep me underwater for a while, when I was able to stand, my nose and eyes had water and sand, my diving mask was gone, good thing it was not my shorts.

Those mandolin "accidents" are real, too real. As we're omnivorous (both plant, and meat in case you don't know) our mouth is filled to the brim with all kinds of bacteria. Any bite that breaks the skin unleashes a truckload of them into places of your body where they're not supposed to be. All these different kinds also make it difficult to treat as some antibiotics may not be effective against all of them.

I want to second number two. confined spaces can be incredibly dangerous incredibly easily. Worse, the danger is often an invisible lack of oxygen. One breath of oxygen-free air and you are completely out, and you will not wake up. If someone tries to rescue you, they will involuntarily take a breath at the first pull, and they will fall unconscious. If you don't have an air tank, every rescuer is just one more victim. Be very careful my friends

@@lydiapetra1211 quite simply, people don't understand the nitrogen is dangerous. You don't even have a sense for lack of oxygen. Your senses feel extra carbon dioxide. You clearly cannot feel it coming. And every warning sign attacks your judgment first, so you cannot think to get out. Confined spaces that have lack of oxygen, most notably ditches, sewers, and industrial vessels filled with nitrogen, are the most deadly source of injuries after falls.

Some horse safety tips: (other than just remembering basic safety gear) USE THE GRAB STRAP (or horn) english saddles have a tiny leather loop at the front. It's got several uses but one is to hold onto. If your saddle doesnt have one, ask for one to be attached. If your instructor discourages you from using it, find a new instructor. The horn of a western saddle has a similar function but its harder to hold onto. You can get a strap put on them too. Learn to control the horse while holding the strap. You want the reins the perfect tightness so squeezing them back a little within the range of the strap is enough to tell the horse to stop. Bits need tighter reins and bridles need looser ones because of how they function. This will keep you in control while also being safe. Secondly, safety stirrups. Yes, I know the rubber is ugly. Yes I know little kids use them. Yes experienced riders will sit in stirrups properly. But one misplaced foot while falling will get you dragged behind a frightened horse. Lastly, learn how to fall. The idea is to try to land on your side on your thigh and have your body roll to your hip and then up your arm to your shoulder. Could you break your leg and hip from this? Yes. Could you break your arm and wrist? Possibly. But will you break your spine, skull, or neck? Unlikely.

I used to install garage doors. Don't fk with those springs or anything for that matter considering the spring is an integral part, dead serious. The amount of tension they're under is insane. We had one guy (and yes I was actually there when this happened I was just starting) loosen the flag bracket without unwinding the tension though I had advised against it, he wanted to save time.. launched his impact and cut his hand down to the bone. He was LUCKY AF it didn't launch back at his face or could have easily killed him, I didn't freeze up when it happened and got the customer to see if they had first aid which he did, even more lucky af, his wife was a nurse.

That flooded roads thing gets me. I lived on a second floor apartment. The road that I looked over did not have good drainage, so, would flood anytime where there was heavy rain. I remember people would swim across the street and not be able to touch the concrete below them. Way to many cars would try to go down that road and the water would be up to the windows or higher. Thankfully it was a minor road so not that much traffic and only once every year or two did it get that bad. No person drown there but several cars did

For those wondering why you don't use a car's dashboard as a footrest, it boils down to the fact that if you don't take your back down off that dash. The described collision happens, your feet will go through the windshield/windscreen and be either sawn completely off somewhere between the ankles or knees or close to it. This will obviously cause a significant portion of your blood volume to come squirting out of the now-severed arteries that had once been supplying the feet with what they needed.

Or your knees go into your eyes
@1Scimetar
@1Scimetar Жыл бұрын
@@GunsAndAmmo3 I guess that depends on where on the dashboard your feet end up and the angle their sitting at, but that is also a likely outcome as well, resulting in blood either pooling against your brain or squirting out of your knees, head, or both, but most likely all three in the case of a high-speed collision, such as highway speeds of 70mph/110kph.

An extension on number 29 would be for low head damns. this is basically a short wall submerged in a river. the way the water flows over them causes an underwater vortex on the downstream end of the damn which will trap you if you get sucked in. You might cut yourself with a sharp knife, but you are able to stop bevor getting a deep cut.

Swimming in any natural bodies of water, going for a swim in a river or a lake but are unsure of the current and whatnot? WEAR A LIFE JACKET!!!!!!! Same goes for boat riding, oh it's just a lake, no current, it's fine and I'm a good swimmer. BOOM! fall out the boat making the boat flip over and the side knocks you out, doesn't matter if you're an Olympic swimmer, you can't swim if you're knocked out. Also don't swim near an active motor, that shit will make you lose consciousness and without a lifejacket, drowning suddenly becomes the most likely outcome. Seriously I cannot stress this enough, WEAR A FUCKING LIFE JACKET!!!!!!!!!!! I know people who refuse to wear life jackets because and I quote "it's uncool" or other stupid shit like "the law can't tell me what to do", that shit may sound cool when you're 12 years old but it's just plain stupid and I've seen people of all ages have that stupid mentality. The river where I do my boat related activities is a massively dangerous one and the slightest mistake can cost you your life, now even the calmest of waters are dangerous so you can bet your ass that where I operate we have zero tolerance for disregarding safety. Remember, the water is stronger than you, the water does not give a fuck about who you are, how you feel or who you leave behind, the water will beat you, the water will win so WEAR.A.LIFE.JACKET!!!!!!

Ceiling fans don’t have enough speed to kill somebody, it’s not a jet engine 😂 the amount of times I’ve accidentally hit the fan while it was running and haven’t lost a finger etc is proof of that. Also, heating equipment, washers, dryers and cooking are the most common reasons for house fires. Where are you getting your information from?! Google dispels everything you said🤷🏽‍♀️
@derek2593
@derek2593 12 күн бұрын
@@afenismama , be careful about making blanket statements. As a rule of thumb, blanket statements are almost never correct. Per Google, ceiling fans account for 6% of house fires. That means about 1 in 17 house fires are caused by a ceiling fan. And don't forget that all ceiling fans are different. Some are heavier, and/or spin faster than others. I had a ceiling fan lose a blade, and it put a big hole in the wall. Good thing I was home, cuz it might have gotten worse from the unbalanced wobbliness after losing a blade. Imagine if that blade had hit my head. I am CERTAINlY not implying a functioning, spinning fan could cut something like a wood chipper, but if a blade flies off and hits someone, it could do damage. And if no one is home, it will wobble itself off the ceiling mount, and once it is hanging at an angle that blocks the blades, the motor will heat up and cause a fire. Ceiling fans aren't made by NASA. They break sometimes. It is more common than you think for a fan to lose a blade.

@@derek2593 So as you quote Google, they don’t appreciate ME speaking for them but if YOU do that it’s fine, huh?!🤷🏽‍♀️Yes, ceiling fans can cause fires, but they are designed to run for hours and shouldn't be a cause for concern if you buy a reputable brand and install it properly. However, electrical failures and malfunctions can lead to fires, and ceiling fans are included in that category. As long as they are installed properly the risk is LOW. Ive ran ceiling fans all summer for the past 20 years in my home, no fires. When it’s 90 out and I’m at work, my pets request me to leave it on❤️

17:44 This claim is questionable at best. I needed to research if there was actually any such link between diet coke consumption and osteoporosis, and I couldn't locate anything that definitively linked the two. In general, there has been research on this topic that has produced conflicting results, and in one particular study, the participants only reported soda consumption early in the study bud did not account for how the participant's dietary habits could have changed as the study progressed. As far as the person drinking 8 cans of diet coke per day is concerned - I'd say that's too much anyway. You still get a lot of what's in a typical soda even in diet form, so you can find healthier drinks to substitute that.

17:30 I hate to be that guy, but maybe you shouldn't be drinking almost a gallon of any soda at all each day?

While i agree on the diet coke thing i have to say its mostly a persons fall for doing that dispite the neglagents your drinking 8 cans a day of diet coke....doesnt matter if that thing is "healthy" it will most certainly hurt you just like drinking a jug of orange juice each day will....(this coming from a lover of "diet foods but doesnt drink/eat them often)

#2 reminds me of a Darwin Award story: someone set up a gas-powered pump in a flooded tunnel. naturally, it ran out of oxygen and quit working. 4 or 5 people died while investigating why it stopped... #6 reminds me: Chocolate is also toxic to dogs.
