I didn’t hear him bashing the Vortex. I just heard him state what the popular brands have as far as features and what Garrett says the Vortex has. You can do the comparison yourself. I want to know why the folks at Garrett have omitted some features that we all use like auto noise cancellation? That in itself is one of the first things I do when I start a hunt as well as ground balancing. Not any bashing there. Just questions.

The main thing I look for is performance..

Foil and gold have very similar properties from the technology we have today. Plus both come in many shapes and sizes which doesn't help. Who knows what the future holds.

I heard a year or so ago they do have the ability to discriminate between pull tabs & gold . It is not phase discrimination. They just will not release it. Just like zero point energy,

Well I wouldn't buy the at max, I see a few KZfaqrs still using one, it will find stuff, I personally have legend and deus one, I love both of them

After beig disappointed by the specs on the Garrett Vortex that I waited to be introduced, today I ordered the Minelab Xterra Elite Expedition Pack.

@@calabashphotography1234 Well, it's not heavy at all to me and it has all the features the Vortex doesn't. What I'm saying is that my "old" detector is outperforming the newer machines, especially Garrett. The dual target ID of the etrac and CTX are just unbeatable.

@@calabashphotography1234on the first video you were calling for all the engineers that work at Garrett to be fired. I would say that qualifies as bashing wouldn’t you? I was thinking the exact same thing as was expressed here, “How does he know it is so terrible when the machine isn’t even out yet?” Just basing his opinions on a loose list of specs that may or may not be complete. As a guy that recently got into the hobby, and had not found your channel to any extent previously, that video alone left a bad taste for me. It reduced your credibility in my new content consumer mind. This video is a little more toned down, and attempts to just concentrate on features, but your distaste for Garrett comes through even while trying to convince us that you have nothing against ANY machine, which is the whole reason I wanted to watch you, to get a real unbiased breakdown of each machine’s features. Incidentally, I started with a Deus II and love the complexity of that machine, and also have a Manticore, and love the simplicity of that machine. I will probably end up getting the best Nokta and now the top line Garrett in order to understand and master each machine and the nuances they bring to the hobby. Each have their spot in the technical and obviously in people’s hearts. When people get emotional about “their” brand, calling for their team to get fired turns some off. Just some food for thought.

Garrett made the rod for their own backs in the past , will this year be any different , we will see
