Should we really talk to God about everything?
There are a lot of different kinds of prayers (liturgical, litanies, the rosary, the chaplet of divine mercy, etc.), but today Father hones in on mental prayer. Mental prayer-including lectio divina and Ignatian prayer-is about having a conversation with God and inviting him into your mind and your heart. But our minds are messy places, and our hearts are wounded. Should we really be talking to God about all of our thoughts, longings, and desires?

I was fortunate to have an earthly dad who listened to me well, and encouraged me to think out loud. Because of that I am able to trust my heavenly Father so much more than I might otherwise have trusted Him. Same with my mother and trusting Our Blessed Mother. Thank you Fr. Mike, for caring for God's children so loyally and so well; I pray for you daily, and for all those in need. God bless you.

Beautiful testimony, thank you for sharing it. Holy fathers serve such a tremendous and necessary good in the human order. I lament our masculinity-hating culture, we are ruining ourselves from the inside out with it. Prayers of gratitude for your father.

That is so important, for women but especially for men, I think the statistics are less than 5% of men with lax fathers remain in the faith.

I was sitting at home tonight and revealing my innermost feelings to God, and I wasn't sure it was the right conversation to have. I felt like I was complaining about some things while also acknowledging the blessings in my life.. I looked at my phone and this video came up. I needed this video at this exact time. Thank you Fr. Mike

Friends, complain, whine, laugh, share secrets, celebrate, grow and love one another. When you want God in your life ya tell Him everything and offer gratitude and adoration. I think you’re spot on! In the musical, Fiddler On The Roof, a man sings a song to God and at one point he says, “would it spoil some great eternal plan if I were a rich rich man?” That’s when I saw the wisdom in sharing with God like a friend. May God continue to encourage you to share with Him. Duh, it’s not like you thought it up all by yourself, lol. Perhaps He moved your spirit to come closer. Sending love.

I recently starting praying while brushing my teeth. It sounds silly but I really think it has help me become more grateful and to be more with God throughout the day. In the morning, I ask God to be with me through all the things I have planned and at night I thank Him for getting me through the day, reflect if something great or bad happen, and ask Him to be with me tomorrow again. I’ve always struggled to pray at night because I usually fall asleep haha but this is just a nice way I have found to pray more. If you try it, let me know how it goes! I’ll be praying for you! 🙏💕

In February, I read a book about using regular BAR soap to brush my teeth instead of toothpaste, and the results are amazing. I just had to share that, because I am 72 years old, and my gums were bleeding and I had lots of tarter to scrape off every time I went to the dentist, but the last time, they only found 9 small tarter spots, and my teeth were gleaming white. I hope you don't mind that I shared this. I think God sent that book to me.

My dad passed away 2019 I'm gonna start praying for my dad I'm sure hes in Is portatory He wasn't a Catholic he was a Baptist Loving his neighbor he wears his Bible After he passed away I looked at his Bible it looked like it was 80 years old Pages will come in apart Is a mark different passages He read it so much the pages who were coming apart My grandma gave it to him when he was a boy . He shall respect to everyone I remember one time there was someone that was hungry and needed a place to stay My dad gave him some food And he also gave him a motel room for a night . And that's what we suppose to do is help your neighbors.

Oh, you really want to watch this video, yes, God knows everything and He gets to hear everything, but we have to share with Him to give Him ACCESS to our deepest thoughts, wounds, etc.... He is a gentleman, He waits for us to share.

I need a Dad and He has offered to by my Dad, therefore....Gonna talk to Him about EVERYTHING! He is the dad I never knew I had and the Dad I have always needed. Plus he is the best dad ever! Rightfully he should get Father of the Year award EVERY year. Literally the only one who has ever given a 💩(chocolate ice cream) about me.

I was constantly, constantly thanking God a lot throughout the day because I have a lot to be thankful for. I decided to stop. Instead, I told myself I'll be thankful in the moment. I'll be in the joy of a loving God. And that can go on all day. Hope that makes sense.

God wants a relationship with us! The Bible shows God wants us to love him and he has done so much for us to unite with him! Father Mike is so uplifting to my spirit! His soul reflects God's love! ❤➕❤ The mind of God is truly amazing! He said: If you love me you will follow my commandments! Surprisingly in doing that it provides protection, so God wants us to be protected, so we don't hurt ourselves and each other! That is love caring for ALL of us!!

Whilst watching this a quote I read came to my mind, it is of Marcel Tan Van, the beloved spiritual brother of St Therese of Lisieux (she appeared to him many times during his life). This is from their conversation: "God our Father watches over the slightest details of our lives...His goodness and kindess are infinite...Do not be afraid to speak familiarly with God as with a friend. Tell Him about everything that comes to your mind - your marble games, a mountain climb, the teasing of your friends, your outbursts, your tears or the little fleeting pleasures." "But little Sister, God already knows all these things" "That is true, however to give and to receive love, He must stoop and He does this as if He has forgotten that He knows everything, in the hope of hearing an intimate word burst forth from your heart."

I constantly wonder this alot. Like if God would feel annoyed seeing and hearing the same thoughts. I tend to think about not being awkward in what i talk to him. I suppose what insight we can get out of this is that we really need to understand what Love truly is towards God.🙂🤔

Awe, you’re shy and think your thoughts and desires are unworthy. Humn, you’re listening to all the things that keep us from the best relationship ever. Go for it. I thinks He delights in our hearts not because they are thoughts sometimes trivial but because we shared with Him the only thing He desires. Even the angels are not as loved as we are. Come! go! Be with your Father for any reason, just be with Him.

So our hearts are, at least partly, our own. Opening my heart doesn't make me less me but less likely to wander in a fog. The intellect must have connections with the heart. We tend to divide our hearts. False things tug on them. Good comment on our hearts! I sensed you were going for that word. Heart and fog. And light. Thanks!

Father, I LOVE your videos! This one... It really makes me feel called out (in a good way, promise!), because not only do I struggle - HARD - with mental prayer, but I struggle with the concept that I am not "wasting" God's time. I have a hard time just freely running to Him about E V E R Y T H I N G, ... but... wait, it's not like He DOESN'T know, right, ... so what's my problem!? Please pray for me, Father, my prayer life isn't the greatest, but I'm trying. :) God bless you!

I lead a sinful life until the age of 28 I reconciled with God after attending a retreat in 2019 from that time onwards I was obsessed with Jesus like a lover i always like to talk to Jesus all the time last day all of a sudden I started feeling like He is not listening to my prayers and I felt like he dumped me I don't how to explain it I tried to pray but I was very angry with Him I was filled sadness, anger but it only lasted for an hour after that I realised how much freedom He has given to me! He allowed me to quarrel with Him later we reconciled Coz He knows He can't live without me and I can't also live with out Him ! Now I realised Jesus is deepening our relationship like that of a couple! He is very lovely ! 😘

We've got to remember though that Jesus was a fellow Son of God, as are we all - Jesus is our Brother, an enlightened being who realised the Christ consciousness within himself and then shared with all who had ears. What God loves is our forgiveness of each other, as in that way God is loved through the fact that everyone is in reality a Son of God - how we treat and think of anyone else is really how we are thinking of God. Because the creator is all there is. All happens within God, there is no "outside" of God. For me, here on planet earth it looks like we are some sleepy children of God who are stubbornly holding on to an idea of separation, and feeling alone and separate living in fear and believing in death. Awaken, your Father loves you.

God knows all our thoughts, deeds, sins, intentions, that is what makes Him God. Nothing is hidden from Him. Whether we tell Him or not, He already knows. But, confessing and admitting things is honoring to God. He will deal with us more gracefully, if we have a repentant heart. If we choose to hide thinking He does not see, we mock Him. That He does not like.

I am Practicing Catholic Sometimes I'll be praying while I'm talking to God Lucky's my best friend And sometimes I sing Christian songs like amazing grace some of the other songs Because I love the Lord Jesus Christ I love going to mass .I am married have twin boys 13 years old.
