Hello from Virginia ☺! My greatgrands were farmers. I love the scenery!! I said to myself, I'm sitting here watching how they spread slurry!!! Lol!! But, I love learning. I'm so impressed with you're father's knowledge of the essential needs of the soil. Love how you show all the aspects of farming and explain the why's, why nots, and the oops!! You show a real farmer's life. 🚜

Brilliant mate, said before your vids are always getting better. You're still learning a lot from your old man... he's a wealth of information. I'm nearly 40! and I would be lost without mine, they've got something I think only comes with time and experience. Also....we have big cows in Ireland too 😀

love this video. Every1 that has used our cesspool tankers has managed to get themselves sprayed. We have lorries now but when we had tractor and tankers we had the tankers made so the entire back door opened, coz odd times they do need completely emptying and climbing in the top wasn't safe coz of the smell... where there's muck there's brass lad x

When you press the button to stop the PTO .Move the handle to the spread setting and I think that that will stop the slurry tank from emptying when you shut off the handle at the back

When we are spreading and the tankers full we shut the intake then turn the PTO off to stop the slurry running out then put it into neutral let the pressure out then put it in spread and set off so as you can start spreading as soon as you get in the feild

We have tiny Dexter cows. Hopefully the 3 girls will be popping out a calf each next year and then I will be milking them. It's going to be a bit odd milking cows that are only 38 inches tall because I used to milk Holsteins! But, I am only 4ft11 so maybe milking Dexters will be more my size? 🐮😀 If I had a modern tractor, I too would be happy tanking. The little Grey Fergie with its 1950's suspension, engine and no cab makes for a miserable time out in the fields, unless it's a bright sunny day.

also overlapping ensures u don't miss spots and u get a even amount everywhere also on a slurry spreader it spreads it thicker near the tractor and thinner at its outer reach so if u didn't overlap u would have arras that got a thin amount then areas that got enough your field would grow in stripes

Cows on the wetter land are usually smaller. I guess the thinking is that they will do less damage being smaller and lighter but I think when a field gets wet it don't matter what size cow is left out on it.

One thing might be worth a try if the tanker is 540rpm, when I'm hedgecutting I run the pto in 1000 speed but only 540 on the clock, so that it's slower in 1st gear and don't need to use creeper speeds, maybe try running in 1000 speed pto at 540 revs and 1st high might just work out as the right gear to do a run :)
